Find another dentist!. Please stay away from these money grabbers! My first appt was full of exams and xrays....I was there from 730 until noon! After exams they wanted to reschedule my cleaning but I refused so I waited to get my teeth cleaned because that's why I made the appt to begin with. I was pissed but had a second appt for fillings I paid for that service at my initial appt. Get there and my appt was canceled because I didn't confirm when they tried calling me. I went to Aspen dental a few times. Not sure where to begin. First off their system was hacked and for several weeks no one could see them. Secondly, I was referred to a dental oral surgeon to have some molars removed. I didn't realize they were removing all 4 at once (guess how many molars you have). Even after healing I couldn't chew food very well without my molars. Thirdly, I couldn't get an appointment to have partials made for over a year, yes over a year. When I finally got an appointment (which I thought was to build the mold, it wasn't). Said I need work on two of my canines. Wanted to charge me even more money. I finally left them. It was a nightmare. Now they are trying to bill me for looking at the canines. I'm fighting it. read more

I cannot attest for the quality of dentistry work provided by Aspen Dental located in Dothan Al. I will not slight the other departments/workers within this establishment as I was unable to interact with them due to this establishment's front office staff. After a month of waiting to finally be seen, the events that unfolded shortly after walking through the door were unpleasantly surprising. Writing a negative review is never fun but I hope this may help the workers and patients in the future. As a former medical professional with 15 yrs experience (whose made plenty of mistakes as well), I can attest to the front office workers of this establishment as being rather incompetent at their job. This is not to be misconstrued as a hurtful comment. Here are the events I've experienced/witnessed which have led to this conclusion of their incompetence: - Upon arrival, I was almost checked in as another patient who shared my last name (not related) and who was a male. Never make assumptions with patients ID. Always check to make sure. - While waiting, I witnessed another patient almost get denied care because of the office's own ineptness. Patient showed up for her appointment and was notified that her appointment was cancelled as she didn't confirm via a phone call the day before that she was coming in. They called the wrong number. - Still waiting, office workers said phone numbers and birthdays of patients within earshot of everyone in the lobby. - Several minutes in to where I was supposed to be seen by the dentist, I'm informed that I might have to split my long awaited appointment into two appointments as they were figuring out insurance/payment instead of offering options that worked with the current appointment. Options that have already been discussed and AGREED UPON PRIOR. - Several more minutes in, I was told that I might not be seen because even though I waited a month and came to the appointment not only on time but early, it would interfere with their lunch break. - While waiting longer still, that's when a lady (what I assume to be the front office "manager") blatantly said: "Well, we are 30 minutes into your appointment time and we still haven't gotten a hold of your insurance provider. What do you want to do." Regrettably at this point, I was livid at the complete lack of patient care and just cancelled everything. I did my best to articulate problems I've experienced to them but at that moment was only capable of mentioning checking me, a female who clearly looks female, in as a male patient. I was the one who signed in and interacted with the front desk. The presumable office "manager" proceeded to predictably make excuses for this huge error by saying "well to be fair, it could have been that man you came with" instead of acknowledging wrong doing or holding ANY accountability for a mistake THEY made. Unfortunately, I expected the response I received and inevitably had to walk out. Rather ungracefully and embarrassingly, I might add. I address this portion of the review to the workers of Aspen Dental in Dothan Al in the hopes that it will actually be seen and taken into account: Please treat your patients better. Their privacy, time, safety and the trust that they have instilled in your services are just as important as things you value. If you lack the ability to work with, communicate with, empathize with patients as well as lack self accountability for mistakes you make, then you are in fact incompetent for the job you are in. read more

My husband saw them for a tooth extraction in which we had to pay for and they did not extract the tooth, did nothing but put him in extensive pain, took our money and referred him to oral surgeon. By the way, he didn't need an oral surgeon, just an actual Dentist who knew how to do their job. Went to another Dentist, was able to remove within seconds without the lies and pain. my name is Sharon Nelson I went to Aspen Dental this morning at the crack of dawn I have dental insurance through CIGNA. Not knowing it was Carrington. Carrington only covers Aspen Dental and advantage which is only for pediatrics so this Carrington left me with only one option and that is Aspen Dental , I think they are in cahoots because all they want is to get you in there and get a bunch of x-rays which are covered. They told me I had to pay up front for my dental plan and fillings and that they could not see me for five months to fill my fillings .!!! she told me if I didn't like it I could take my x-rays and go somewhere else. This review was blocked from Google, of course. There is something actually wrong with this office. Every visit I had, I was lied to, scheduled backwards, never informed, and in general something was always wrong and I had to take the fall for it because I have to keep paying for this crap. I came in for TWO broken teeth. One molar, one front tooth. Molar was scheduled but last minute canceled because dentist claims I needed my wisdom teeth removed first. I took it at face value and said okay, I understand. After my x-rays I was promised from day one by the nurses that my OTHER broken tooth could be repaired within the month. This is the SOLE reason I came here and they were VERY aware I wanted this tooth fixed. They said yes, they can and will fix it with fillings. Cue me, overjoyed. I even mentioned that my last dentist said this tooth would need to be removed. NOPE, they say, fillings are fine. Dentist said I had a few cavities and it would just be a bit more, so I said sure, go ahead and fix those too in the meantime. I didn't understand why my broken tooth kept getting pushed back but they kept pumping out excuses, and I trusted the dentist. I mean, he informed me about my molar, why would he lie about anything else, right? Five visits later, over the course of a month, I'm told by the dentist this broken tooth actually needs a root canal. This was after the appointment was scheduled, and I was literally doing molds, to fix said tooth, with the nurse. I still had mold on my teeth as he was telling me this. That is how unorganized they are. A MONTH. And he waited to the literal LAST minute. Seriously cannot get anymore insulting than that. If I knew I needed a root canal with an oral surgeon for this tooth too, I wouldn't have even bothered with the other treatment. I told them I can only afford one or the other and they completely blindsided me by swearing it could be patched with a filling SINCE MY FIRST APPOINTMENT A MONTH AGO. Like I said, I even told them my last dentist said this tooth needed removal and they said it only needed a filling. No amount of their fake apologies can return the savings I had put away for fixing that tooth. Dentist even had the audacity to say, "I think we're all just a bit confused here. Let's slow down and figure this out." Then brought the nurse in to confirm she did screw up, then just worked on something else instead to "not waste my time." I'm then told a filling that HE DID will have to be removed and replaced with a crown. This adds another 1k to my bill. Dentist says he wasn't going to "stop what he was doing when he realized he was wrong" and finished giving me that filling before telling me this. Okay, fine, until I get my bill (a week later) and see I had to pay for his mistake, the filling, and also pay for the crown he says I'll need when it does break. Staff will just chat for hours in front of you, take their time. When they get into your mouth the nurse is so distracted she's not even sucking up water. I sat there getting waterboarded half my appointment because they were talking about Legos. By the way, wife of dentist, he's VERY upset you won't let him get the $700 Lego set. Super glad he got you that treadmill! Oh, to have rich people spiels and problems and not grovel over lost money on pointless fillings. I've seen them kick scheduled patients out because it was lunch, like they weren't the ones who scheduled a patient during lunch. One nurse hung up on a woman trying to ask a question and sent her to their service instead, then loudly complained how patients like that "get on her nerves." A separate time another nurse was just forcing q-tips between my lips and grabbing me by the face, instead of just telling me, "I'm putting this in your mouth" or "can you open your mouth" or ANYTHING besides grabbing me. I'm 25 years old. Not a child. Decided to cancel every appointment with this place. I've seen free clinics with more humanity than these people. Disgusting lack of humility. read more

Wish I didn't have to even give one star. The dental hygienist and dentist were horrible. I went in for a tooth extraction and to talk about a partial in that order but these two women were the most vile. You walk in and get swooped up by all these X-rays then have someone come in and tell you that you need 6-8 of your teeth pulled that are still good and not bothering you. After I started crying and told them that they were not going to pull good teeth. They walked out after I didn't agree and wouldn't pull my tooth that I came there for and said they didn't have time. I called today and was sent To the office manager that wouldn't listen to any of my concerns and told me they preformed these X-rays and my insurance would be billed. I'm so pissed with these 3 women. I was in pain and couldn't eat and they wanted to do all this root scaling and rinses and tooth extractions and never said anything about my tooth that was hurting. No compassion whatsoever. I PULLED MY OWN DAMN TOOTH. Now they're charging my insurance for all this crap I didn't ask for and I can't go to a real dentist to get seen about. Awful professionalism. The staff will talk behind your back and discuss their daily routine and ignore you during procedures. Scheduling is out of control and they will flip flop on dates and things you've never even needed done. If you go here, be sure to write down your own appointment and what's being done, because they sure won't even know. Also, don't be surprised after leaving a bad review that they drop you as a patient. Check yelp for the real reviews too if they're deleted off of Google. Went in for a broken tooth and ended up getting a bunch of other treatments PUSHED on me. I just had one issue with a broken tooth and they did nothing but "examine" my teeth. I'm still receiving bills in the mail for things I'm not entirely sure they done. Best comparison for this place would be a shady used car dealer. DO NOT GO HERE - BAIT AND SWITCH/POOR SERVICE/BAD BILLING! I am a PhD senior citizen who when visiting relatives in Dothan, AL needed a regular dental cleaning. I did a "YELP" search for a good reviewed local dental office and found Aspen Dental near by with no reviews... I made an appointment with Aspen Dental on Montgomery Hwy in Dothan & went in. Upon arrival they took my Delta Dental Insurance and said it would cover all but the copay. They then billed that day and my insurance paid the normal rate for cleaning. Then, I was told they offered a FREE set of whole mouth Xrays, exam, and evaluation for implants. I asked if this was really free... and was assured it was. After the exam & consultation I was urged to pay $96 to prepay for a estimate in the coming summer for 4 implants. I paid the copay for the cleaning (it was a short & poor job) and the prepaid consult for summer. Two months later I received a bill for $64 (see my credit record - I have never had a late payment in all my years). I called the Dothan office and they said it was a mixup on the free Xrays & it would be removed. 30 days later I got another bill stating I was late in paying for my services. I called the main office for this chain of Aspen Dental Offices in NC where I was again assured it was a mistake that would be immediately corrected. Today, June 6, 2016, I received a COMPUTER COLLECTIONS INC NOTICE that I was referred to a credit agency & put in for collections for this "FALSE/FAKE BILL!" ASPEN dental is a classic "BAIT & SWITCH" organization IT GIVE SUBSTANDARD SERVICE and has POOR BILLING PRACTICES and HAS POOR COMMUNICATORS! I am so upset. DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE and of course I will not keep my prepaid consultation for implants or ever do business there again. I seen by the technician at my scheduled appointment time, the dentist told me what I would need, and answered all of my questions. The hygienist fitted me in for a cleaning the same day, and she did a great job. I have already made my next appointment for six months from now. The staff working here go above and beyond to make your experience a good one even if it is a dentist and most people hate the dentist. The Dr. was great, very nice and great manner. The hygienist was very nice and explained everything through out the process. The ladies at the desk working consultations of what needs to be done and all my future appointments were set up quickly and easily. I would highly recommend this place to anyone needing a dentist. I've tried local family dentists and never have had one on one service like this place. My daughter goes there as an adolescent and even my 5 year old grandson sees them. **on a side note** "I've too read the reviews of people saying that they had enormous payments due etc. This can be true for any doctor, surgeon, hospital or dentist based on your insurance coverage. One person may have to pay 100 for a filling and another 900. This also can be true for the extent of service needed. So I wouldn't say that these reviews are entirely accurate. I work in the medical field at a hospital and I know that what one person says always will differ from another based on just how much they had to pay out of pocket. This does not effect the service, the customer service, the employees that work at the company being reviewed nor any other professional service. Only thing it shows is not how well the service as given but how cheap they thought the service should have been." They don't offer financing plans, but they do help you find other ways to help you pay for your visits if you don't have insurance. Seriously, these were the nicest people ever. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!!!! YOU WILL REGRET IT. I went to the Dothan, AL for a free consultation. I was given a treatment plan that cost over $6500 and then sent home with medication. I took the medication as prescribed. I had one days worth of medication left and was actually feeling way worse than I did to began taking it, so this concerned me. I called the office and the office manager KELLY answered. I was trying to explain that the medication didn't work and that I was actually in worse pain than when I began the medication. I was trying g to get a different plan of action by speaking to the DR. KELLY took it upon herself to speak over me and rudely tell me that they just can't keep prescribing medication and HUNG UP IN MY FACE!! I WASN'T CALLING FOR THAT REASON ALSO SHE IS NOT THE DR AND IT IS NOT UP TO HER. She should have been more concerned as an office manager that the filthy facilities were cleaned up. The restroom pure made me gag when I used it. Well I called back and then was accused by no one other than incompetent kelly that I was yelling at her. I assumed she was trying to make a scene in front of her coworkers in case I told that she hung up on me. She continued to try to speak over me and had a NASTY attitude. At that point I did yell at her to make sure she knew the difference. I told her I did not want to speak to her to get the Dr and she laughed and put me on hold. The last time I checked a patient in worse shape than when they started treatment wasn't anything to laugh about. especially with all the MALPRACTICE LAWSUITS flying around. Apparently she lied to Dr Robinson and by the time the Dr answered the phone she was also rude. Dr Robinson was very unprofessional as well. All she did was try to read verbatim what was written on my treatment plan. I can read. I know what my treatment plan is. That is not why I was calling. she didn't offer any apologies for her RUDE, INCOMPETENT, NASTY office manager kelly, nor did she seem concerned that my health was actually worse after trusting her with it. This is the ABSOLUTE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER WITH ANY MEDICAL FACILITY. I WOULDN'T TAKE MY DOG TO THIS OFFICE. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND GO SOMEWHERE ELSE.
