I was hungry and stopped here for a quick Chicken Lunch. Always wanted to try it...now I can say I did. The Chicken is greasy and the breading crunchy and thin, doesn't have a lot of flavor. The Chicken tasted the same as the frozen type you would get in a T.V. Dinner. The fries were thin cut and over cooked, really tasteless as far as fries go. Don't ever come close to this place. I tried them only one time and this is what happened 1- two of my kids and I got food poisoning and I decided to report them to the department of health. 2- I ordered 4 orders but when I got home I found them 3 only. One of the order was 20 pcs of chickens I counted it was 19 pcs only ( maybe it's a mistake) but the food poisoning I will not let it go. BEWARE OF THE OVER CHARGING!!!! "RUN YOUR NUMBERS!" I have no problem with the food it's good, however, this is the second time my family and I were over charged for food! Please check the total and ask for a receipt! I ordered 3 large plain pies which cost $7/pie total $21.00 They charge 7% sales tax so my total was $22.47 (21 x 0.07= $22.47) When I came to pick up the pies and asked my total, I was told $23.47. So I showed the math and told there must have been a mistake. The Gentleman response was "oh sorry I meant $22.47" then when I asked for paper plates I was told "only 2 paper plates come free with the pies" there's a $2.00 extra charge for paper plates" are u kidding me I just ordered 3 pies Second time I ordered 10 gyro sandwiches and I was charged $0.25 extra per sandwich! When I confronted the Gentleman he told me "I'm Muslim I won't do that" mixing religion with business isn't appropriate nor is it an excuse. I was on a journey through New Jersey with a friend yesterday and we attempted to stop for lunch at that den of horrors rest stop before Exit 7A. Obviously, because it was actually a warm day outside, the rest stop was overflowing with humanity. Because we didn't want to wait 45 minutes for Roy Rogers or Quiznos, we decided to roll the dice and eat at some random place off the turnpike. We ended up at Kennedy Fried Chicken, somewhere off exit 10 in what we speculated to be Perth Amboy. The restaurant was very clean inside. Nobody else was in there at the time. I was amazed by their ability to offer 52 different combo meals. I decided to get a chicken cheesesteak and I must say, it was absolutely delicious, perhaps the best I ever had. They threw in some ketchup, mayo, onions, and peppers... it almost tasted like a salsa when it all came together. The chicken was juicy and the good white meat stuff. The cheese was oozing but just the right amount. I'm not sure what else to say about this place. The service was fast and the cashier was nice. I'm pretty sure we'll never go back, but that's for entirely different reasons, unrelated to the quality of the Kennedy Fried Chicken, The Other KFC. read more

Tried this spot since Kennedy Fried Chicken is usually good and needed a late night chicken fix. Waited by the counter to be served but the cashier decided to get some other person's order first (why, because he looked hungrier than I did?). When he finally noticed me after 10 minutes since I first entered - it wasn't crowded - I asked him how long it would take for 15 pieces. He responded 5-6 minutes. I noticed there was a lot of chicken in the warmer and figured he needed 5-6 minutes to accommodate the orders ahead of me. Fine. After 6 minutes, I noticed he and a person in the back exchanged some confused words with each other and then he was just standing there waiting, so I asked if there was anything wrong with the chicken in the warmer. He said it was mostly thighs (who doesn't like thighs?! They're the juiciest and meatiest dark meat!). Told him it was fine and he packed up a mixed thigh and leg combo. After 20-25 minutes I was finally out of there and upon reaching home and tasting the fare, I most likely will not return here with all of the other chicken spots nearby. Though affordable, it was the saltiest chicken I've ever had in the area. Every piece. Thank God I ordered rolls with it! the best food in town, they have low prices and great service. i went there one day with my friends and we had the best service, they were pretty crowded, and we got our food in less than 5 minutes. i ordered a fat amboy, and the tostones, soooooo delicious. my friends ordered a large pie with pepperoni it cost us only like 7 dollars. i was surprised because the night before we went to papa johns and it cost us like 12 dollars but this pie was larger and more delicous. i think u should all try it, because you cant judge it until you try it. read more
