I was expecting much since a few people were raving about their sushi but everything is too bland!!! Sauses are bland, the teriyaki bowl rice has absolutely no seasoning (not even salt and pepper) too little of veggies (you will need to ask for veggies).....it was basically a big bowl of rice and I tried to add soy sauce, yum yum even eel sauce but I just said I don't like it. I ate the kenko roll because I was hungry.... Works for other people, but I love flavor and experience. I don't like salty food and I don't like bland food, I like my food to be an enjoyment and an experience! Maybe today wasn't a good day..... read more

Unfortunately, we had a bad experience. We ordered just a cucumber roll and it tasted extremely fishy and then I ordered a tempura shrimp roll and again it didn't taste fresh. We also got a couple of milk teas and one was a melon and one was a pineapple, and we barely got any flavor from either one so unfortunately, we threw away all of the cucumber roll and we threw away half of the temporal, my wife drank a couple sips of her Ellen milk tea, and I'll be grudgingly drank my whole tea so no we won't be coming back and no we didn't shoot any pictures. read more

For a easy yummy teriyaki chicken bowl on Cwru campus made quickly and has large portions, Kenko is for you. I do feel that their flavoring has decreased a little and that could be improved but also we can request more sauce ourselves so that's not a problem. read more

Terrible service! I've been coming here religiously every week for the past 5 years. I'm a loyal customer - still treated like trash. My drink was ready for at least 10 minutes (having ordered ahead of time on the app, which btw only works 1/2 the time). Both the cashier AND the bubble tea maker had AirPods in. I told the cashier I was waiting for a to go drink - zero communication with the drink maker, who I later noticed had my specific drink sitting in front of her already. She said ok and went back to her business. I wait another few minutes giving the tea maker the benefit of the doubt (sure - maybe she is just busy), but after that, I asked over and over again is that my drink. She either CHOSE to ignore me, or didn't hear me because of the AirPods. I yelled, I waved. Nothing. Finally the cashier noticed I was causing a ruckus and told her to give me my drink. Before I go on with this review, I just want to point out that Kung Fu Tea has a separate business listing so please review those guys there. I see a handful of Kung Fu Tea reviews on here which doesn't belong. Anyways, been here several times already and can honestly say that the food and service is consistent every time! Appetizers I have tried are Onion Soup and Gyoza. Side orders I have tried are Shrimp Tempura and Brown Rice. Sushi that I have tried are Little Delicious Roll, Spider Roll, Ohio Roll, and Kenko Roll. The Teriyaki I have gotten the 3 item option of Shrimp, Chicken, and Beef. The Onion Soup($1.95) is basically Miso Soup with crispy fried onions which is what exactly it tastes like. Pretty good if you like onions. The Gyoza($4.95) on the menu it says it's a shrimp pot sticker but on my receipt is says chicken. Whatever it is, it's just your basic steamed pot sticker that is pan fried on one side. Tastes good especially when you dip it in the gyoza sauce that comes with it. The Shrimp Tempura($2) was a bit disappointing. The one I got was definitely not fresh for it wasn't even lukewarm. At least it was a little bit crispy but the fact that it was obviously not freshly cooked was a major turn off and will probably not order again. The Brown Rice($1.50) is a good alternative to white rice. Same flavor but healthier for you. The Little Delicious Roll($13.95), Spicy Tuna, Imitation Crab, Cream Cheese, Avocado, and Cucumber. Lightly fried and then topped with Spicy Mayo and Eel Sauce. There's nothing little about this roll. Tastes best as soon as it is served to you. Had some leftovers for breakfast, was good but did not taste as good when it was freshly made. The Spider Roll($11.95), Soft Shell Crab, Radish Sprout, Avocado, and Cucumber. Topped with Wasabi Mayo and Eel Sauce. This roll was just ok. I have had better Spider Rolls elsewhere. The Ohio Roll($10.95), Shrimp, Imitation Crab, Avocado, Cucumber, and Asparagus. Topped with Wasabi Mayo. What made this roll stand out is the asparagus. It was decent. The Kenko Roll($12.95) Shrimp Tempura, Imitation Crab, Cucumber, Avocado, and Cream Cheese. Wrapped in Soy Paper with Miso Glaze. This roll has good flavor and is just as good served after refrigeration. The common theme for all these rolls is that they contain most of the same ingredients except for 1 or 2 items. My favorites are the Kenko and Litlle Sushi Roll. The Teriyaki Bowl($13.95 for 3 items) this is the price for 3 items on their menu but on my receipt it says $15.95 plus $2 each for Shrimp and Beef which doesn't make any sense. Of course I opted for all 3 meats. Comes with veggies and white or brown rice. I opted for no rice, just all veggies. I added sauteed mushrooms one time for an extra $1.50. This bowl is just big enough to satisfy your appetite. The teriyaki sauce they throw on top gives it the good flavor you expect. Service wise, when you come in, if you are wanting sushi, you order on the left side of the counter and everything else you want to order, including Kung Fu Drinks, are towards the right. Make sure you mention your sushi order when ordering other things. You pay and then they call out your name when your order is ready. Overall, I have been coming here 1 to 2 times a week as part of my dinner rotation since I am working a contract over at the the University Hospital just a block away. I like that it's contactless, you order and pay online. However I did not like how sloppy my rolls were and how rude the staff was about it. The cashier literally threw my food in the bag! The sushi burrito is pretty cool, and highly customizable. They also sell the traditional futomaki rolls, but they're just OK. Kung Fu Tea's counter for ordering is just adjacent to Kenko if you want some bubble tea with your sushi. The parking is very good, so be prepared to park somewhere else and walk to Kenko. I ordered a sushi burrito, and one order of their rolls. The sushi burrito was huge, and the person making it for me was generous with the toppings as opposed to just giving me a bunch of rice. The sushi paired very nicely with the wintermelon milk green tea I usually get from Kung Fu Tea. I would recommend this place if you're a fan of poke bowls. My daughter turned me on to sushi and the first time she came to visit me at work in University Circle, I brought her to Kenko. Now it's the only reason she comes to visit me at work. For $8 I get a flavorful, healthy meal that is also filling. I enjoy making my own sushi by picking my own ingredients that includes one protein, two veggies, a sauce and a topping. This most recent trip I chose spicy tuna, cucumber, and avocado topped with wasabi mayo and tempura crumbs. I also was given a small container with wasabi and fresh ginger, not the soggy, limp ginger from a store bought jar. The ginger was super spicy and the best I ever had! My daughter went vegetarian, opting for tofu as her protein, rolled with cucumber and avocado, topped with yum yum sauce and fried onions. She also got bubble tea and tried something different each time we're there. Now, I know it must seem really silly, but one of my favorite things there are their chopsticks. They're mass produced and are the split apart variety, but they're very thick and unlike any other kind I've used. I found them easy to handle, making eating a little less frustrating for this midwestern klutz. There are some great menu options, including poke bowls ($11) and soups (miso and onion for example, at $1.95). The food and boba are good but the customer service is horrible! I walked in at 8:15 and the girl makin my sushi huffed and puffed and rolled her eyes at me before I even ordered. She didn't use the machine to make my sushi roll and just slathered the rice all over. When I got my toppings she didn't put them on top she dumped them all over and they fell in the middle. She put the tiniest amount of sauce and when I asked for more she sighed and rolled her eyes again. She also butchered my sushi and a piece completely broke and she just put it back. She was incredibly rude the entire time and had no regard. I don't know her name but in case her manager sees this she is a young light skinned woman who makes the sushi. This place is so unique and so delicious. Our hotel was walking distance, when we decided to stop on in. It's a BYO sushi / teriyaki bowl / poke place!! The ingredients go on and on.. yet all so fresh. You walk in, and it's like a core-life eatery, or chipotle per say. We decided to order on the kiosk. I got the teriyaki shrimp bowl with extra veggies. My fiancé got the chicken teriyaki bowl with extra mushrooms. The portion sizes were huge! We both got the bowls with udon noodles (plus!!!!!!!) they were so good. I loved that you could choose what kind of rice / noodle. We got extra yum yum sauce, too. Food was piping hot. We both loved it had broth on the bottom... which we slurped right up lol. Also can't forget all of the bubble tea flavors and milk tea and milk slushees. Came here to make some photocopies. They don't even do that. So why are they called Kinko's? False advertising. One of the most popular sushi places in Eastern Cleveland. Definitely Americanized to a large degree, but not as shockingly overpriced as a lot of sushi places. I've had it as take out as part of a large group at a little get together a little while back, and it was good. We went here to have a sit down lunch a couple of months ago - since she is obsessed with sushi and I'm, well, tolerant of it at best - and there were no tables to sit at! The line was literally out the door, not just for sushi, but for the bubble tea at KFT (which Kenko shares the building with) that I wanted to get for us to share. She'd never tried KFT before. With lines this long, the sushi must be even better than I remember. We didn't stay, and instead I took her for her first Hot Sauce Williams experience... five stars! This place is conveniently connected to Kung Fu Tea. Boba and sushi always pair well together, so why not? I think their rolls are on the smaller end and a bit pricey when you consider the portions. Virtually every way in which a restaurant can cheap out on Japanese food, Kenko does. Despite being $10, the Philadelphia roll skimped on fish, with too much rice that also didn't have enough vinegar in it, with the large chunks of avocado and cream cheese completely overwhelming the salmon. I might even overlook that they have a machine to add the rice to the seaweed if they'd managed to do everything else decently. The soy sauce is the cheap brown stuff, the tiny container of condiments featured two rubbery pieces of ginger and a pea of bland wasabi. I've also ordered the same drink from Kung Fu teas elsewhere and what I got here is like 15% more water than at the other places and the Boba are not even in texture; some are the right texture but others are a hard kind of chewy that points to inadequate preparation. It's wild how I don't even remember grocery store sushi from 20 years ago being this lackluster. This is just the lowest common denominator sushi. Like even the sushi-go-round in Chapel Hill, NC, which gave me food poisoning, was better than this. The service is exactly what you think you'd get from a bunch of college students. It was fine. Most of my beef goes directly to the management and the owners who made choice after choice to skimp on quality ingredients and quality training of staff. Like I had $9 pre-made rolls with kikkoman soy sauce and lots of wasabi and ginger at another college on the East Coast just last week. Maybe it's just the gimmick of making it the subway sandwich of sushi (ie the staff member assembles your sushi in front of you from a variety of dubiously-chilled cambios) but it just doesn't work for me. I really like Kenko and think that it's a great spot for lunch. My personal favorite is the poke bowl; essentially deconstructed sushi that you get to customize. Today, I ordered a white rice bowl with spicy tuna, salmon, avocado, cucumber, yellow pickle, tempura, eel sauce, and spicy mayo. So good! Just be aware that the spicy tuna is actually spicy, so be careful of this item if you're sensitive to spice. I also really like their teriyaki bowls which are so big that I can eat them for two lunches! I've also tried a number of their sushi rolls which are also good. High quality seafood is a welcome find for a convenient lunch spot. Finally, I really enjoy their Kung Fu tea. My favorites are green milk tea and honey black tea with boba. I was looking for sushi on DoorDash and came across this place which I had never heard of yet. And I'm SO glad I found it! I love that there's the option to make your own roll. I got mine lightly fried with white rice, crab salad, shrimp tempura, cucumbers and carrots with spicy mayo and eel sauce. SO SO delicious! Also ordered a side of shrimp potstickers. The Food: YESSSSS I'm so happy there's at least one bubble tea place and that it's LEGITIMATE is even better! I love getting the honey lemonade tea. I don't like the drinks with milk in it cause they got that powdery look and fake taste. When I want straight up tea, I usually ask for 70% sugar. If you're ordering rice/noodle bowls, go to the right of the divider. For sushi, it's basically like Chipotle where you can build your own sushi or they have pre-named ones. As for ordering bubble tea, you can go straight to the cashier or they have 2 iPads for ordering by card. After that, they'll call your order by name. For bubble tea, you can choose ur tea/drink type, boba/toppings, amount of sugar, amount of ice. If you don't know what they are, the workers are SUPER nice, so ask! They can even offer a sample of toppings or drink. The inside has a LOT of seating! Kenko also has wifi (although I constantly have trouble with it). What's great is that they have LOTS of outlets W/ USB OUTLETS TOO! People are there to hang out, study for hours or some student clubs even go there. First time trying the milk tea in Cleveland! It is good! I chose the matcha red bean slush. The flavor of matcha is not perfect but it is ok for me. Will try something else next time! And another thing worth mentioning is that by downloading the Kenko app, we could see the menus on our phone. I always had hard time ordering especially when making line. It was hard for me to decided in a timely manner....The menus look complicated and had almost no idea what those are. But thanks to the app, it is much easier. On the one hand, it's just so convenient - around the corner from campus, equipped with Wi-Fi, lots of outlets, efficient ordering process, and a trendy vibe. On the other, the sushi is well... Dare I even call it sushi? I'm not expecting Jiro-level quality at a fast food dig, but I created my own roll once and probably will never do it here again. Mushy, lackluster ingredients and disappointing portion size. I have yet to order a bowl here, but maybe stir-fried food is a little more reliable. Since I mainly only come for the drinks, I really appreciate that there's an electronic ordering system that allows you to skip whatever food line may be building up. Credit or debit only for these machines. Kung-Fu tea is a relatively small national chain that seems to be known for their Golden Oolong tea in my hometown in the SF Bay Area. I find that the drinks here definitely trend towards the sweeter side and that the traditional tea-centered flavors are more to my taste. Except the Chai, which does not taste like chai tea at all but a sugary green tea. Nonetheless, I find myself returning here to get plain tea and enjoying a few hours of their surprisingly good (EDM) playlist while studying. Closest place to UH to grab some sushi and boba so I definitely had to check it out. Got a surrito (sushi burrito) with salmon and tofu. It was good but a bit on the small side for the price...you probably save a couple of dollars just ordering the same as a roll. This is compared to other places I've tried in other states that offer a sushi burrito. I also ordered my favorite Kung fu tea drink which is located inside the restaurant Logan jujube tea with boba. You go through a line to order sushi (kinda like a Moes) - they have a cool machine that places the rice on nori. Then order any drinks at the register. I used the Kung fu tea app to pay which was easy enough, but I had trouble ordering on the app ahead of time (it said the tea was out of stock which was not true). While as it's fun to build your own sushi, the tray of 8 sushi pieces honestly does not really fill me up. I can eat the entire tray in like 2 minutes and feel like I could eat another order, so I find the teriyaki bowls to be much more satisfying, especially for the price you pay. I typically like the getting the teriyaki bowl with chicken and udon noodles (which is an additional $1.50). This ends up costing a bit over $10, which is kind of pricey, but it is tasty and quite flavorful!
