I'm neither a customer or the owner of Kendrick Flooring, but I do have a certain amount of insight into who and what these people are, having briefly worked with them.
I wish I could say that my experience with this group of people was a positive one. I've known Dan for most of my life, as a former classmate. We had worked together on a voluntary basis. I'd done some free work for a charity he was heading and since he was an old friend and since he could see that I would able to help his family with their corporate identity since I am a freelance graphic designer, he put me in touch with his family. Dennis said that he liked my work (that black and white Kendrick logo is mine) and that he would be delighted to work with me. Promises were made. I had suspicions but chose to ignore my gut instinct as Dan was a mate. I said that I would give them 10 concepts to choose from and that I would develop it and leave them with the finished article (which that logo they're using, is not). A few weeks later, the logo is a polished gem and I get a call from Dennis telling me that they have had a change of plan, that they will not be able to make good on the promise of more work, that they've gone with someone else instead. I have yet to be paid for my work but have received yet more promises.
If I were a customer, I would be wary of these cowboys. Their word is not good, and if my dealings with them can be used to sum them up as a business, their logo is an unfinished promise of something better and their website is a Wix creation with a child's bad grammar. For me, if you are going to stump up 50% before any work is done, their word should be unimpeachable. I would give this crowd a wide berth if I was looking to get my floors done. read more
