I recently purchased a fireplace and stove from them and got them to install install it. When they…read morefinished there was plastering to be done on eather side of the fireplace which I was informed would require me to hire someone else to fix . I was not happy as I expected the fully fitted price they had provided me included any plastering work. At no time was it mentioned I would need to get someone else to finish off plastering until after the fireplace was installed. Even when they did an on-site visit to review what work had to been done prior to the work comencing they did not mention that that I would have to hire other people to finish of the plastering work. This has marred an other wise satisfactury job but unfortunality I would not use them again.

He's located downstairs in Michael Duffy Antiques, and he's always got new fireplaces coming in. Most are old which he refurbishes, though he does have some new ones too. He seems to specialize in black xxx fireplaces, and does a sterling job with their refurbs. Something which stood out to me here though was customer service. I have a very awkward slash 'quirky' house (depending on the day of the week), with a very awkward sized chimney on which to fit the fireplace. So I'm looking for something really particular. To help me out, he brought two fireplaces up to the house, with no obligation whatsoever, just so that I could have a look at the size / style of them, and then have more of an idea what I'm looking for. How good is that? So, I still haven't found the right one. It will happen soon I'm sure. One thing I know for definite is that I won't be buying one from anyone else.

To my surprise- and I should have known had I bothered to translate the name of the shop- it is actually a fireplace showroom. Belle Cheminee specialise in antique fireplaces and grates, but they also have a selection of garden statues, so I wasn't entirely wrong. While I was having a look around I was told that they offered a free consultation service as well in case I had any questions, but nobody was trying too hard to sell me something so full marks for the service.
