So having a pet companion is important. Not to mention, great inspiration for drawings. In the year and a half, since our dog passed away my wife and I would venture out to the Humane Society just to pet animals. It is a beautiful place. Very clean. Well-maintained. Filled with caring volunteers and staff. You can see the love when they talk about the animals to you. First, we pet a puppy. And then asked to see a dog my wife had found on their website. Her name was Jewel. She was a nervous one and a half year-old terrier. Who had kind of a rough way. The puppy was an easy answer, but Jewel stole our hearts. The agency was honest about her issues and offered us a test drive. For two weeks we would take Jewel. The Society would give us everything that we needed to care for her. Food, bed, toys, medication. We signed up. We took her home. We worked out the kinks and learned her. She is a loving dog who just needed a little extra time and care. I will always recommend going to the Humane Society or any facility that offers rescues. She may not be a puppy, but she has a lot of love to give. And the Capital Area Humane Society is simply outstanding. We may come back again to get her a friend. But for now, we cannot say enough about this experience. Good form.

First, let me say that the Classy Canine was extremely accommodating of our holiday schedule. They were extremely patient and gentle with Bella and gave her the best trim she's ever received. I didn't even truly appreciate the detail until we got home from vacation. The trim lasted much longer than any previous groomer. She was also so soft! They even did a good job trimming my terrified pitbull's nails when I came to pick up the spaniel. Prices were roughly equivalent to Petsmart. I would recommend!

I have to echo all the rave reviews for Janet and the variety of classes offered through Good Dog…read more Like others have said, she changed our lives and our relationship with our dog. We learned so many important things through her private training and the puppy socialization course. She turned our puppy into our friend who turned into a family member who turned into our first child! Within the first week of receiving our Beabull puppy (3/4 English Bulldog, 1/4 Beagle) two years ago, she began to behave obnoxiously dominant. She would attack my ankles any time we would play, if we tried to hold her down to show our dominance she would NEVER tire of scratching our arms until they were bloodied and bruised, she would do the opposite of everything we asked/showed, and she humped me all the time. There were times that I would cry on the couch because of her behavior, and times my husband confessed that coming home felt like more work than his actual job because of he could never just relax with our dog acting out nonstop. Janet came to our home and made our jaws drop, as her presence changed our dog's behavior immediately. She never lost her patience and taught me how to assert dominance easily. Her guidance rewards good behavior and helped us feel mounds more confident when faced with difficult moments. Our frustration decreased steadily and our pup slowly began to treat us with respect and love. She stopped attacking my heels within a day, and let us hold her down/put our hands in and on her mouth/ears/paws quickly. The humping has stopped over time and she listens very well. I never cried because of my dog after we were helped by Janet. I also recommend so highly the Puppy Socialization class. Aside from our wee one learning sit, down, shake, stay, come and how to walk on a leash better, she made some puppy friends and overcame her shyness around bigger dogs by the end of the course. We were also introduced to the agility/games course which was SO MUCH FUN! We noticed a big change in our dog's confidence and also loyalty to us as we built our bond through training. Additionally, all the staff seems very in tune with each dogs individual needs and never let anyone feel embarrassed or unwelcome because of a misbehavior. Good Dog Training was the catalyst for positive behavior with our dog. I credit the staff and Janet for teaching us how to become amazing parents to our pup and for giving our girl confidence and a conscience.

The woman who was actually walking my dog had been not been given any of the instructions about my dog and did not show up when I had asked (she didn't know this either). I was furious and very concerned. I called the owner who chewed me out. The ranch has a lot of land and indoor and outdoor spaces and is on the owners property, so they are able to tend to the dogs frequently. We are always nervous about bringing our Husky where other dogs are present because he has historically had bad interactions with other dogs but Mike was great with managing his needs and let our Husky be around one of the more docile dogs that him and Misty own and it went just fine. She managed to cross the freeway without getting hit.  My sister's dog was staying, too. When we dropped them off, Mike met us in the front yard. We offered to bring them inside, but he refused.  There is a horse fence around most of the yard, which is nothing for my little dog.  We hadn't gotten back home before Mike called to say she had gotten away and they needed my help catching her. By the time we got back, they had no idea where she was.  When Mike had tried to take her in, she had been startled by another dog and slipped her collar. She hung around in the yard until Misty grabbed her, then she "screamed", Misty let go, and she ran.  Misty never even talked to me. She stopped looking hours before the rest of us. Mike did drive around for quite a while the first day, but not as long as the family and friends that came to help.  We searched for about 5 hours the first day. It was raining and then snowing. We were all in spring jackets, without hats or gloves. Misty and Mike did not offer to let us in to warm up, or use the bathroom.  They didn't contact us on our second or third day of searching. My sister sent them a text in the late afternoon on the second day to let them know that we were still searching and another text in the late afternoon on the third day to let them know that we found her.
