She just had her 97th birthday and we came up to celebrate the occasion. We have have always enjoyed your community. Your landscaping is the best and looks amazing. Recently, I congratulated one of your team members, on how beautiful the flowers and plantings made the complex shine. He thanked me for noticing. Entering the community, your Security is very cordial and professional. Fran, one of the Security Team, was always very pleasant and we chatted with her about bringing up the sunshine from Florida. She was very amiable and always smiling. You can be very proud of her, and her team, by providing excellent security throughout the complex. In addition, we have had interaction with Melissa, at the front desk at the Cardinal Clubhouse. She is very helpful and works hard to meet everyone's needs. It's not always easy, but she is a real professional. It was nice seeing Mr. Robert Squillace again. He is the Accounting Office Coordinador. Always very personable, whenever we have financial questions, he is happy to answer them. We have dined with Mom and the food is excellent and full seating will be back shortly. She is looking forward to being back with her friends. Living in Florida, we have seen lots of Independent living Communities. None can compare to the wonderful way of living at Maris Grove. We know Mom is safe and sound and Dr. Smith, and Claire, watch out for her. If you are reading this review, and are interested in one of the best Senior Living Communities, in the nation, stop in for a visit. You will be glad you did. They have our utmost respect! C, which felt impersonal and unprofessional, especially after taking the time to apply, prepare, and show genuine interest in the position. What made the situation even more frustrating is that I took time off from my current job for this opportunity. That means I lost income and had less money available to pay my bills, only to be met with what I feel was an unprofessional and discouraging experience. It is upsetting to make that kind of sacrifice and feel that the process was not handled with the respect and consideration applicants deserve. I also have concerns that outside factors may have influenced the hiring decision. Specifically, I believe there may have been prior bias related to K. A. a physical therapist, and an incident involving my relative at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital. My relative was accused of leaving a patient on a bedpan during a weekend shift, despite the fact that my relative was not working that day. The situation nearly resulted in serious employment consequences, but the patient later clarified that the nurse involved was someone else and described that individual as wearing a durag. Because of this history, I cannot help but question whether personal bias or misinformation may have played a role in my not being selected for the position. I believe applicants should be evaluated fairly based on their own qualifications, professionalism, and experience, not on unrelated situations involving family members or inaccurate accusations. Overall, I was disappointed by the lack of transparency, professionalism, and consideration shown during this process. Applicants take time away from work, rearrange their schedules, and make financial sacrifices when pursuing opportunities. I hope Maris Grove takes concerns like this seriously and ensures that all applicants are treated fairly, respectfully, and professionally.

Outstanding Rehab at Foulk Living, 1212 Foulk Rd., Wilm., DE. My mom was in the Rehab unit from…read moreDec. 2024 - early Feb. 2025. They have dedicated staff who coordinate care to ensure proper rehabilitation. My mom and family cannot rave enough about Tirus (Dir. of Nursing) whose exceptional smile, demeanor, and personality are calming, uplifting, attentive, encouraging, comforting, and supportive. His energy is contagious. He is highly in tuned with a patient's needs and provided us with much-needed advice in terms of identifying subtle signs of symptoms in someone stoic. He was born to do this!! Lily (Dir. of Rehab) and Stephanie (Dir, of OT), Emily, and Bridgette (PT) were committed to ensuring my mom's rehab went exceedingly well. My mom surpassed some of the doctor's rehab expectations. Tirus, Lily, and Stephanie ensured my mom was not discharged prematurely - an option that could have been driven by insurance. Rebecca (Admin Coordinator) was very friendly and provided no limits on who could attend the weekly family update meetings. (My mom had 5 family members at these meetings.) Meetings were highly coordinated and provided realistic and forthright information. It was clear the people responsible for my mom's care had her best interests in mind. While the nurses/aides have many demands on them, they (too many to cite and I don't want to inadvertently forget to mention someone) took particular care to make my mom's stay comfortable and enjoyable. Many really went out of their way for my mom. They were truly special. They have 2 televisions in the Rehab lobby area showing different things to cater to wider audiences. The nurses/aides rev up festivities during holidays or whenever they can. With my mom and other patients being Philadelphia Eagles fans, they got them energized and engaged while watching the Eagles games (regular season, playoffs and Super Bowl VICTORY). They had entertainment come in to keep patients engaged. My mom loved everyone so very much that 6 months after her discharge she visited them and brought bagels and coffee to pay tribute and to spend time with them. She continues to be thankful to them. This review is long overdue. As my mom says, if you could put stars in the folders of those who work in Rehab, put in a whole galaxy of them. ENDLESS THANKS!!!

If you want your family member to sustain physical injuries because the staff neglects them choose the Hickman. Sure, the rooms are nice and the food is okay but the quality of care is horrendous. The Hickman should be shut down.
