He delivered it but he didn't have the right cable to hook it up. He told me to go buy it and he'd come back the next day. He never showed up. I rescheduled with him, and never showed up. His wife told me I can just do it myself. If that's the case... Why did I just pay him 175 dollars? Horrible. ***In response to the company's message: We tried multiple times to get you to come back. We bought a new attachment to make it easier for you to complete the job. We don't know about dryer parts. You should have asked about connections when you were making your estimate. You mention regular customers-- we had at one point wanted to become a regular customer. But never showed up multiple times. Lying and saying you will come and then never showing up is rude and unprofessional. If you didn't want to drive all the way back out here to complete the installation you should have reimbursed us for the cost to install the vent and the cord. I don't know if you understand how silly it sounds for a service person to take your money and then tell you to finish the job. That is ridiculous. Finish the work you start. *** This company has changed their response again, now saying that the job was just a delivery. It wasn't. I requested appliance installation and delivery. They never asked what type of prongs or plugs were involved. When he didn't have the part to install it, he said we should go buy the part and he promised to come back the next day. He never came back. He tried to blame it on us. As long as you do the research to ensure everything he needs is available he might do a good job. But-- if he needs a piece of equipment to finish the job--do not give him any money until he comes back and finishes the work. There is a chance he will lie and say he will come back, and he won't. He will miss multiple appointments and waste your time. Most likely he will never come back, and avoid your phone calls. Or... He will tell you that it's all your fault and tell you to finish the job you paid him to do.

This review, written in June of 2024, is for work done over a year ago. The reason for the delay…read moreis that I only recently had time to fix the multiple mistakes this company made. When I went into the attic to correct a poorly installed booster fan (details below), I also discovered dangerous wiring in violation of electrical codes. See those wire connections near the duct? By code, those are supposed to be inside a junction box that is secured to house framing. But the way this was done is a FIRE and ELECTROCUTION hazard, should someone bump up against it or disturb the connection. That is what prompted me to write this review. Earlier problems: The way this all started was the house I purchased had poor air circulation to one corner of the house, as identified during the home inspection. Prior to closing, the owner had Affordable American (AA) install a booster fan. Unfortunately, they installed it in the wrong location. Instead of installing it upstream of a Y-junction, they installed it in one of the branch circuits of the Y. The problem with that is instead of boosting the air coming from the evaporator fan, it sucks air out of the other side of the Y branch. In effect, creating an endless loop of air that never gets cooled (or heated). When I notified AA of their mistake, they inspected it and quoted their full price for such work, saying it was over a year and why did I wait so long. I don't know why that should matter since it was still a faulty installation on their part. After much haggling, they finally agreed to do it for half the original quote. I then tried to schedule the work, but after many phone calls over a period of weeks, I could never get them to come out. It is clear to me that they had no intention of standing behind their work. In the end, I'm glad they didn't because I never would have seen the shoddy workmanship of the wiring mentioned earlier. I'm glad others seem to have had good experiences with Affordable American, but based on my experience, I would at least have someone knowledgeable check their work for code violations and safety issues. And don't pay them without an independent inspection as they do not stand behind their work.

He asked me to just hand him the graph that we drew, he said he was trying to beat the rain and traffic. I told him there were several requests that the owners were looking to include in the bid and I showed him around the parking lot. He said he would have the bid to me sometime next week. I gave him my business card and asked him to email it me and I will forward it the owners. It's now Thursday, of the following week. I called Glenn and I introduced myself and gave the company name and he said "yea, I remember who you are" I told him he owners are asking that I follow up with the bid so they can review them all before they make a decision. He asked if we are getting more bids or if we had more bids. I told him we have the other bids. He said "Then you don't need mine" and he hung up. If you're looking for asphalt work I'm warning others to not to waste their time. 9/1/16 In response to your comment about "Glenn knew it couldn't be done" or "it must have not been feasible" He was more concerned with rush hour and getting out before it rained. He didn't ask questions, was not customer oriented (based off my experience with him). I had to take the initiative to make sure he was understanding what we were looking for. Then when I called him a little over a week later he was very short and quite rude. You mentioned you sent another estimator out and "our request must not have been feasible" we have hired another company. Our hang up right now is with the permits needed for the city. We were definitely not looking for a cheap way out as we want this done right and a parking lot to last us for many many years to come. We have accepted a bid at 89k and it includes everything we are looking for. Again if it took this long for a response, I stand by my review that I would not recommend this company.

He said the furnace wasn't wired correctly, but he couldn't rewire it so he said he disconnected one of the heating elements.
