The Wilson Center at Cape Fear Community College is an ok venue. It could be great though. There is…read moreone entrance that is also the only exit. This isn't a problem as much when entering but when everyone is exiting the same way it just seemed a little much. It seems they could utilize others doors to get people out faster. Leaving a show is one thing but in an emergency time is of the essence. The orchestra level seems lacking in adequate restroom stalls for a performance with an intermission. I was there for two performances of Come From Away which has no intermission so that seems like it was a positive for this venue. On my second performance, the paper towels were out of at least one machine before the performance started. I walked to the venue so did not deal with parking but it seemed most parked in the garage across from the entrance/exit to the venue. The lobby has some seating and the concession area is mostly focused on beverages with a few food items like pretzels (cold not served warm); a charcuterie box and candy. I had hoped for better options after the disappointing cold pretzel the first night I did not get anything the second night. Then they wait until 30 minutes before showtime to seat the ADA guests. Every other venue I have been to does this much earlier to give a full 30 minutes to the rest of the guests to get to their seating. The first night I was there we were not allowed in until after 7:18 for the show that was to begin at 7:30pm. I thought it was a fluke the first night then they waited to seat the ADA guests the second night too. My seats for both shows were in the pit but I didn't know the seating was office chairs so that was disappointing. I tried to bring a jacket with more cushioning for the second night. I did enjoy both shows even with the uncomfortable seating. I drive to see shows at many venues but I don't see myself driving to a performance here again.

It's a much more intimate experience than you get out of the larger stadiums. It's too small to pull in big artists, but I've caught a few of my childhood favorites playing here. Food and drink selections leave something to be desired, but as another reviewer stated: it's really easy to sneak in your preference.

We anticipated a fun evening in a unique setting. The evening started great but a few songs during the set a rowdy patron sat down in the cross aisle grabbing onto a recycling can and rolling around with it violently. Then the puke started. The man puked for several minutes into the recycling can just in front us. One of our party ran to an adjacent bar for help and was told security would come. 10 minutes later the man is still there giving our section the middle finger repeatedly before starting to vomit again, this time all over the concrete in the cross aisle. Security never came. I went back to the bar and was told they couldn't do anything. I then went to the top of the amphitheater and finally found other employees. After several minutes of them not taking action and insisting that I wait until someone could be shown where the puke was, I said I've missed several songs of this concert and I want to go back to my seat. A lady said she'd follow me back so she could see where the puke was. I also told them the recycling can was filled with vomit and needed to be removed. She saw the area and said they'd handle it. A few minutes later a girl appeared and sprinkled some vomit powder on the puke on the ground and left. That was it. The puke coated recycling can remained in front of us reeking and nobody cleaned the puke up from the ground. Throughout the evening people would come and stand in the cross aisle and we'd have to tap them and point out they were standing in vomit. This is a totally brilliant venue but the management here clearly didn't respond to this situation properly.

Service was awesome, but like any music from you, the price was kinda hefty for drinks. Bud Lights, for example, were $5 each. But it is what it is! I Ubered here, so I didn't have to deal with parking, but I imagine parking might be a little hectic considering it's straight up and downtown Wilmington and there's no designated lot. But overall, this was a good venue and I will be back if there's a good show.

There is a parking garage very close and the parking prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend parking there. The interior of BN is intimate, small and kind of chaotic. I love the feel and vibe of the place. The drink list is rather small compared to most places but they pour a great drink. Bartenders were friendly, and worked timely. Bathroom lines seemed to take forever. The reason that I didn't give 5 stars is because the seating is so cramped. They have low seats, then higher chairs. If you are near the wall, it is almost impossible to get a drink without annoying someone when you get out. If you plan on getting up a lot then definitely sit on the side by the bar wall or in the back. Show was great and we had a great time.

Well, keeping with my recent reviews either being songs or poems or haiku's or some crap like that…read moreI have to continue the trend. Got to spend a little time here on a recent trip to Wilmington, and someone that worked inside was talking about Luke Combs so I thought I would attempt a lightly Luke Combs influenced country song about the Music Loft. Great place! One of the better local shops I have found in my travels especially for it's size. Verse In the heart of Wilmington town, there's a place of sweet, sweet sound, A little music loft, where dreams come alive, from the ground to the clouds above, Got guitars on the walls, and drums upstairs in the halls, But it's the people there, oh the people there, that make it feel like home, y'all. (Chorus) At the Music Loft in Wilmington, where the heart meets the art, Where the Taylor, Alvarez, and Larivee guitars start, With electric vibes and bass tones in the air, And friendly faces, who really care. (Verse 2) They've got a pedal selection that'll give you a new direction, Amped up on good vibes, they've got more than you can count. It's a small shop, but you'll be amazed, at the music that gets played, From the strings and the skins, the melody spins, in ways that will astound. (Chorus) Oh, the Music Loft in Wilmington, where passion and craft unite, Where the music floats and the rhythm invites, With the strum of the strings, and the beat of the hearts, It's a local treasure, a work of art. (Bridge) From a beginner's hope to a seasoned player's dream, This little loft, oh, it's more than it seems, With staff so knowledgeable, ready to share, In this haven of music, you'll lose all your cares. (Chorus) Yes, the Music Loft in Wilmington, a gem of the Southern nights, Where the music dances and the soul ignites, With the twang of the strings, and the rhythm that bounds, It's the best music shop, that I have found. (Outro) So here's to the Music Loft, up in Wilmington town, Where the guitars ring, and the drums sound, To the staff and the tunes, and the dreams that they weave, It's the heart of music, you best believe.
