Project 1898 was world class. Imagine the quality and fun of a show you would see in a big city minus the traffic jam and dodging crowds. Friendly staff, clean space and well organized and behaved crowd made it an amazing and relaxing experience at the same time.

Great venue and amazing parking! This is such a great place in Wilmington. I have seen many, many shows here and the seats are very comfortable, the building is beautiful and the view of the stage is great from any angle. The bathrooms are clean and there are workers everywhere. The security in place is very easy to get through as they have updated their system. We saw the Brit Floyd show lastnight and it was spectacular.

    So pumped to see Rent!

I was here this past Saturday to watch Rent at the 2pm showing. Finding parking was pretty easy and since we had just made donations at the Salvation Army across the street we asked if we could stay there and did :) We made a very quick and easy pickup of our tickets at Will-call. The ladies were warm and helpful. Upon entering we could easily see where the ladies room was but not the mens. It was on the other side of the venue. There were several offering for alcohol, snacks etc but the lines were long. We were told that we could get a few items upstairs so we did that. To go upstairs you can use the elevator or stairs. We used the stairs because, well, my Fitbit isn't a fashion piece! The walk was pretty quick. There is ample seating if someone needs to take a rest between floors. When we got to our area we purchased two ciders and a box of M&M's. The box was obviously gone before the show started, haha! However, the ciders were sizable and lasted a good while. My only complaint is that there are zero cup holders. We sat in row JJ and had no problem seeing anything. However, I am a "sit on the edge of my seat" gal with 20/20 vision. I would definitely return to the facility. It was clean and the staff were all professional.

Here for the play "Amazing Grace."

It's a much more intimate experience than you get out of the larger stadiums. It's too small to pull in big artists, but I've caught a few of my childhood favorites playing here. Food and drink selections leave something to be desired, but as another reviewer stated: it's really easy to sneak in your preference.

We anticipated a fun evening in a unique setting. The evening started great but a few songs during the set a rowdy patron sat down in the cross aisle grabbing onto a recycling can and rolling around with it violently. Then the puke started. The man puked for several minutes into the recycling can just in front us. One of our party ran to an adjacent bar for help and was told security would come. 10 minutes later the man is still there giving our section the middle finger repeatedly before starting to vomit again, this time all over the concrete in the cross aisle. Security never came. I went back to the bar and was told they couldn't do anything. I then went to the top of the amphitheater and finally found other employees. After several minutes of them not taking action and insisting that I wait until someone could be shown where the puke was, I said I've missed several songs of this concert and I want to go back to my seat. A lady said she'd follow me back so she could see where the puke was. I also told them the recycling can was filled with vomit and needed to be removed. She saw the area and said they'd handle it. A few minutes later a girl appeared and sprinkled some vomit powder on the puke on the ground and left. That was it. The puke coated recycling can remained in front of us reeking and nobody cleaned the puke up from the ground. Throughout the evening people would come and stand in the cross aisle and we'd have to tap them and point out they were standing in vomit. This is a totally brilliant venue but the management here clearly didn't respond to this situation properly.

The parking is a bit challenging if it is your first time going to the theater. I recommend parking down the left side of the theater or in the parking lot directly at the end of the block on the right. I also recommend getting there about 45min early to get decent parking as well as concessions. The cast were teenagers and were truly entertaining. I will definitely start adding this local theater company to my list of places to go on my weekends and support these talented young people.

I purchased tickets on the website and was able to pick them up at will call. You can also have them sent electronically to you as well. Its in the very popular and very cramped Haymount area of town, so parking makes you get a little creative. We parked at a nearby restaurant that we frequently get brunch at. The box office area was smooth, as was the concession area where I got some popcorn and a water. We were shown to our seats by a wonderful staff member, and I had scored some amazing spots on the third row. The sets and the costumes were impeccable, the acting marvelous, and the experience outstanding. There was a small intermission, and I used the restroom, which was very clean. The entire night was just amazing. We learned that there is a huge expansion project starting this summer (2024), and all those additions sound pretty dope as well! Cant wait to see another play here!

It's about the only way I'd get to see this level of performance. The space is large and clean. The staff is extremely friendly. My wife took me and our daughters to see the Off-Broadway shows Spamalot and Once. Both were fantastic. Our family talked about them for days after. My wife and I saw Taming of the Shrew by the theater department. For that small performance we, the audience, were seated in the round, on-stage with the production. I've seen the university music department's Holiday Extravaganza two years in a row and it's the musical highlight of my holiday season. The staff served hot chocolate and I think I saw a crowd of families around a Santa this year. Our daughters participated in the summer theater camp for several years when they were younger. i wish there were better dining in the area to make a night of it but that's not something I can hold against the theatre. Because it's located on the UNCP campus, it doesn't have its own physical address to punch into a GPS but, it's easy to find at the edge of campus, on North Odom St. near University Drive in Pembroke, NC. Their website has directions.
