Early Saturday morning I discovered water flooding the laundry room of my significant other's…read moretownhouse and realized the water heater was leaking. I turned off the water supply rendering the condo with no water. Now what? Who do I call in Lexington, a town I'm not that familiar with much. She called her sister in Versailles but her recommendation of a past plumber she had used previously was closed for the weekend. So I did a search on Yelp first, skipping over a couple of plumbers with some not so good reviews and found Bluegrass advertised as being 24/7 and Shonda C.'s review listed first. She is in my friends list and I trust her reviews. I also saw photo's of the business owner and his family, plus some of his past work, indicating to me I was looking at an honest man. But to be sure, I utilized BBB for a background check and found zero complaints in the past year, an A+ rating and that they were BBB Accredited. So I gave them a call. Ron answered the phone at 7:52 am on a Saturday. This was a huge indicator to me I was going to be doing business with a good company. He told me he had one customer ahead of me but that he would be over between 11:30-12:30 and that he would call thirty minutes ahead of time to let me know he was on his way. He called me back at 10:26 am and arrived in 15 minutes. He assessed the work to be done, quoted a price, then left to pick up a new water heater and associated parts & pieces and arrived back around an hour later. I doubled checked with my sister, who owns five houses, on his quoted price and found he came in little bit less than her prediction. Ron and his son, who was helping him, installed a new water heater, and upgraded the water pipes and gas line, along with new valves on both, to meet today's codes. He completed the work in two and a half hours. We were completely 100% satisfied with the work, his timeliness, consideration of cleanliness and knowledge of his trade. Would not hesitate to call him again for any plumbing needs.

Ron came out and cleared the pipe in no time, left no mess, and charged a fair price. He was super friendly, nice guy. Glad we could hire a locally owned small business that cares.

Amazing Service from Barry at TIS Appliance Repair!…read more I can't say enough great things about Barry from TIS Appliance Repair! I've had the honor of working with him on multiple occasions when he came to repair appliances, and each time, he has been extremely kind, professional, and pleasant to work with. Most recently, while Barry was repairing my stove, I experienced an unexpected water break in my bathroom--a pipe burst, and water was pouring everywhere. I had no idea how to turn it off, but Barry jumped into action without hesitation. He quickly helped shut off the water, preventing further damage, and even assisted me in calling the emergency rental number to get additional help. His quick thinking and willingness to go above and beyond made a huge difference in what could have been a very stressful situation. This is the second time I've interacted with Barry, and both experiences have been exceptional. TIS is lucky to have someone like him on their team--his kindness, professionalism, and dedication to helping others are truly outstanding. Barry definitely deserves a holiday bonus (and maybe even a raise!) for being such an asset to the company. Thank you, Barry, for your amazing service--you're awesome! Great job, TIS, for having such incredible staff! - Pamela

I had a washing machine that wasn't draining. Signed up for an appointment next day…read more Denny came out and had my washer apart in no time. He told me that there were two possibilities for the problem, a cheap option and a more expensive one. I liked how he recommended that we try the cheap option and see if it worked first. That's the way I prefer to do business. So far, the washer has been draining without issue. I'm out a $39.99 service fee. I think it was well worth the price. Denny explained that if the washer required more drastic repairs, they waive the service fee. In the end, these guys seem like honest, knowledgeable repair technicians. I would definitely recommend and use again.
