Needed emergency service after original company that was supposed replace our oil tank stalled then backed out of the job over the weekend after we experienced a leak. Sarah in service was extremely calm and professional - very down to earth. She arranged for speedy repair service and we had our tank patched the next day and replaced three days after that. Service was cheaper than several quoted prices given the nature of the emergency and time constraints. Business is very flexible and responsive... They allowed us to shop around for prices as well. The team that replaced the tank was in and out within 3 hours... professional and friendly, no mess left behind. They even cleaned the corner of the basement while the tank was out. They explained all of the work that they had done and were patient while we figured out payment. Only minor suggestion/issue was that it was $200 to have the team come and inspect/patch/quote a price but all said it was still on the cheaper end of the spectrum after the entire job in total and gave us peace of mind knowing it could wait 2 days to be replaced after the patch/inspection. Ordered oil the night before they delivered to my town. But it was 6 min after midnight . They ask how much in tank. I answered EMPTY! But apparently they don't even read it. Called following day at 6 pm when they No Show. Guy on phone told me ... I THINK ITS RUDE YOU EXPECT ME TO MONITOR YOUR OIL!!!!!! I said .. I NEVER ASKED YOU TO but I did order oil 7 hours before trucks left for my town and told you I'm on empty. I think it's rude you don't even look at questions required to order. Take my $600 but I'm in a freezing house 2 mornings later and now have to pay $45 more to come sometime today but boiler won't start till primed. And think you have Rude Customer Service!! Ken Duval Oil is fantastic. They do not have a delivery min (you just have to pay cash or money order if less than 100gal). That's huge considering a lot of other places will not deliver less than 130/150. I've been in financially tight situation where I only could afford to pay $200 in oil to keep the heat on in the winter time. I'm glad that Ken Duval is accomodating and easy to work with, or else I would have gone weeks without heat (in January) inside my apartment. Thanks guys! read more

We had oil delivered today and while they were speedy and ordering online is a huge plus and convenient! I can not believe how rude the delivery guy was! It was truly disgusting behavior the way he treated me! He spoke with my husband on the phone and I had no knowledge of what my husband asked him. I would suggest that if you Order oil and have to deal with the delivery man you should probably be a Man because it appears he has no respect for Women and talks to them like children! This oil co is really good. You can go online and order and pay. Oil comes next day and give you a discount for paying online. Have been using for over 8 yrs and never had a problem. They clean my furnace and do a great job and leave it spotless. Would not hesitate to use this company if you live on the South Shore. Called on a Friday afternoon for a Monday delivery to Marshfield. The price was fair and the delivery man called me upon delivery since the oil was an early Christmas gift to a family member in need, so I needed the receipt for them to not see it. My family used Ken Duval for years so I called them for the delivery and they were very accommodating and friendly. as I said the driver was very pleasant as well. read more

Worst service ever. Tech left tools behind, didn't run and efficiency test, clean oil burner or finish job. Called to have tech come back out to complete the job....same tech. Turned off gas to water heater which is separate from the oil burner heating. Called the office again to notify them that tech did this they assured that someone would come out to take cate of the burner.....no one ever came. the tech caught on camera egging our house.....worst possible service ever!!!! The are contracted burner techs. We are looking for a new company. read more

this place cracks me up......when i order oil they tell me it will be a few days and i have to pay the price that that day is ...BUT.....they just made a delivery and when i called to ask why i was charged more than todays quoted prices, they told me i had to pay the price for the day i called.....REALLY??? Seems like they make out on either end. I need to find another company. That is so ridiculous! read more

These guys have amazing customer service! If you can get a hold of them before 5am, they'll deliver same day/next day. Their prices are great, and they actually show up when you need them, unlike Carey's discount oil in Hanson MA. They are super flexible, just give them a call! read more

We used for years. (10 maybe) They went to online system, 2nd or 3rd time ordering online & the fuel got delivered to the wrong apartment. We called them and they were rude & couldn't care less. We just wanted to see if they could bill the other apt, (they delivered there too) or even explain how the heck it happened- but they were totally on the defensive- we heard about how it was OUR fault. We were able to sort it out with other apartment- so that was good. The resolution wasn't even so much the issue for us as we know the other apartment & they're decent, it was the lack of concern & the couldn't care less attitude we got. So, since loyalty means nothing to them we took our business elsewhere. read more

Called for service at 5:25 today. Received a call back from the technician saying someone would come by. It has been almost 6 and a half hours. I have called an additional 3 times and gotten no response. I have a special needs child who is sensitive to temperatures and have to work early in the morning. I would have gone to a hotel if they had said they couldn't make it over tonight. If this is how they treat existing established customers imagine how they'd treat you! read more

I have been a customer for about three years now and have not had any issues until now. Having noticed on Sunday that my oil tank was seriously low, and with a big winter storm on its way, I immediately called the office. I got the answering service and after giving my information I was told that I could expect a delivery on Tuesday. I responded with a sign of relief and told the woman I was very happy to hear that because I was running dangerously low on oil. When I hadn't gotten a delivery by 5:00 on Tuesday I called the office and again I got the answering service and what sounded like the same person on the other end. When I explained that no one had come and I was desperate for oil she responded in a very condescending manner stating that the trucks were still on the road. When I asked if that meant that there was still a CHANCE that I would get the delivery, she responded emphatically you WILL get your delivery in the same condescending manner as before. Well, the delivery never came. I called the office first thing on Wednesday morning @ 8:00 and told the individual who answered the phone that I hadn't been happy with the way I was spoken to by the answering service AND that I was even more unhappy about not getting my delivery. She put me on hold and after several minutes came back and said I was on the delivery list for Wednesday (never had been for Tuesday) and that the delivery guy would be on his way to my town very soon. Fast forward to 4:30 and still no delivery. I called the office again. I was put on hold and passed to a second individual who was every bit as condescending as the answering service had been. No apology, no explanation other then to say that there was a backup due to the storm. I was assured once again that the truck was still on the road and I would get my oil. Never happened. It is now 8:30 in the evening and I have given up hope of getting any oil this evening. I am running on empty and seriously don't think I will have heat much longer. I am cancelling my agreement with Ken Duval first thing tomorrow morning. I would rather freeze first before giving him another dime of my money! As an update to yesterdays review. I spoke with someone, not sure who, this morning and it appears that this whole situation is MY FAULT because I didn't shovel a path to the intake valve. It would have helped tremendously if that had been communicated to me at any point during the many calls that I placed. Still no apology given and not in the least bit remorseful for what I had been put through. I hour after my conversation I had the area cleared and a delivery in place for tomorrow! NOT WITH KEN DUVALOIL! There is absolutely no excuse for the way I was treated and spoken to. Ken Duval wasn't willing to accept any responsibility or accountability for their actions and instead put the blame squarely on my shoulders. Extremely poor way to do business and to treat a loyal customer of more then three years!! read more

Ken Duval Oil has always been timely and pleasant to deal with. I think this company is great. The price I pay is always the price that's advertised. I have dealt with difficult companies before, like I should be thankful I'm calling them! This is NOT one of those companies. I have had nothing but great service from them. read more
