Great apartment, highly recommend…read more It's about a 30min drive to major Chicago neighborhoods and 20min to North Chicago, making a good spot for commuting. Target is about 5-8min away. Other big grocery stores are ~30 min away. Management was always very responsive to concerns -- we often got concerns addressed the same day. The apartment itself was very clean and spacious. Everyone gets 2 parking spots and there's also separate visitor parking (for free). The package receiving room is big and well organized - often boxes would be on the floor because of overflow but it's all in a locked building. Decent gym as well. One concern is that the water quality is really bad. If we came back after the weekend the water would be yellow, and you could feel the poor quality in your hair. Maintenance flushed out the shower a few times but it didn't solve the issue. We also wish there was an in-unit washer/dryer but there are plenty of W/D throughout the floor ($5 per W/D cycle). The walls are quite thin as well throughout the building. It often felt like people outside were in your room. Also between our two rooms, you could hear what people were saying in the other room clearly (feel like there was some insulation issue between the window/wall). Overall though it was a decent, affordable apartment with good amenities and good service.

This development is absolutely beautiful both inside and out. The surrounding area is amazing with…read moreeasy access to Lake Michigan on the East and a walking distance to the Metra train to your west. Hitting the trails or downtown Highwood by foot or bike is another plus. Finally, the interior looks great in pictures and in person, until you actually get to live in it. The pictures of the interior as advertised is misleading. There are many hidden issues such as exterior walls that were not insulated so some areas are very cold in the winter, gaps in the wooden floors that are poorly repaired, nails sticking out in the floor, appliances that do not work but are not replaced, windows that do not work or are sealed shut because of gaps around the edges and many, many more. There is constant flooding every year. A majority of the townhomes get flooded every year and the sad part is nothing has been done to resolve these issues. Some homes get as much as 5 feet of water in the garage and basement. Due to poor remediation after each flooding, mold is a constant issue. There is also constant moisture in the garage and basement even when there are no floods thus another source of mold. Regular maintenance is not done therefore many issues are not addressed leading to more major issues and dissatisfied tenants. This place will be a great place to live if these issues are addressed and the tenants are not deemed the enemy. I am sure there are happy tenants, specifically those who haven't had any flooding or major issues, however until anyone experience what 17 out of 30 units have gone through, you will be had pressed to find a happy tenant in this development. Turnover after this year, 2017, flooding will be very high because those affected will not renew their lease. Don't say you were not warned if you decide to move into the Westover Townhomes in Fort Sheridan, Highwood IL. I will stay away if you do not want to compromise your health.

People on the street has lost cars, antiques, valuables, furniture, etc. Did we get something off our lease for his ignorance? Did we get a box of chocolate? A letter of Im sorry? NO!! Nothing!!! The flooding happened due to his cheap ass not wanting to clean the sewer lines. He owns the street as well so its his responsibility. But upon moving In, I had neither. Also, I would likely to include the important fact that it took them 3 MONTHS after I moved into 3055 w Leland for them to even install laundry machines in the building. They also denied my internet for 3 months as well because they felt like rewiring the whole building for google fiber would be a good idea to do BEFORE they had tenants move into their recently renovated building. On top this, they told me I could move in Jun 15th; I WAS THE ONLY PERSON living there for whole month and a half. NOT ONE other person besides me lived in the building until early August. The actual move in date they must have lied about to me just to secure my money. So My first two months living at 3055 w Leland and all because of silver property group, I had no WiFi, no laundry machines like they said I would, and had to hear renovations every morning in the incomplete and quite frankly GUTTED building I was forced to move into. Thanks silver property group! For absolutely NOTHING. These people are corrupt and refuse to take responsibility for the greedy building owners that hide behind them. Don't rent from them. We inherited a front stoop from the previous homeowner that was reinforced with brick risers and…read morepavers. On the top stoop, there were several bricks that were deteriorating below our front doormat. It looked like some of the bricks on the edge were replaced over time and either didn't match or were unlevel. The hardest part was finding a replacement brick that matched in color and size. It turns out, they don't make these particular bricks anymore. We called Stonemark Hardscapes along with 2 other companies to have them all assess the situation and propose solutions. Pete from Stonemark seemed the most knowledgeable and we liked his solution the best. Even though the same style brick didn't exist, he gave us some to choose from and said they could be cut to fit the interior bricks on the stoop and the size difference wouldn't be noticeable. He also agreed to fix the loose bricks on both the first and second stoop and put in some chicken wire around the whole stoop, which we had requested in an attempt to prevent the annual digging/nesting of skunks and opossums. When he and his crew showed up, they were courteous enough to stay off the new grass seed that I had just planted off of our walkway. For an additional charge, they added paver sand and sealer for the whole walkway and stoop. They got the job done in one day and we were very pleased with the work! We loved how the replacement bricks looked even with the old bricks as a border. They were a little on the expensive side, but I think I got the right value for the price. There were a few minor issues with a couple of things, but after a lot of communication with Pete, they took care to make sure that we were satisfied with the work and the end result.
