Take a look at the picture that I took some months ago, sadly all the seafood that they served is no more, even the onion rings are gone. Kelly's roast beef and seafood is now just roast beef. Sure they have some other items, hot dog, burgers, chicken wraps, to name a few. But seafood, all gone. what a disappointment. ‍ We drove over 40 minutes from North Clearwater, so my wife could enjoy a lobster roll, only to find out that management made a decision not to ship the seafood down to Florida, a business decision we were told. The very patient employee on the register, explained the situation to us. Due to the high cost of the seafood combined with the shipping cost it just wasn't feasible anymore. But couldn't you buy seafood locally like other restaurants in the region do? I'm sure that would lower the cost somewhat. But why did you discontinue onion rings??!?! Kelly's still has the best roast beef sandwich in the area, and well worth the drive for me. read more

I've driven by this place and never thought as a person with Celiac disease I could find something Gluten free to eat there. After viewing an ad on an LG tv channel, which actually mentioned GF options(Onion RINGS!!) and a dedicated fryer for only GF foods... I had to go check it out. This establishment did not disappoint. Having an open kitchen concept, very clean and bright , allows customers to view workers cooking and shaving the roast beef as it was ordered. Large menu, I opted for the fried fish platter and for the side, fries and onion rings!! I cannot tell you when I had fried food last, even better fried fish and onion rings!!! Tartar sauce was on point. Nothing disappointed my visit. The pictures show the large pieces of fish incapsulated in light crispy thin GF batter! Staff checked on me, apologize for the wait, which I didn't even notice, said they wanted to make sure everything was done correctly to keep it all Gluten Free. That extra reassurance means so much. I had been wanting to try this place since it opened last year but didn't get a chance until recently. It was worth the wait. I thought their menu seemed a little pricy but seriously it's totally worth it. They do have budget $5 meals which is great, but if you want to splurge on a hearty meal that option is there too. Where do you start? Friendly staff greet you at the counter while you ponder the extensive menu but their roast beef is why you go at least the first time. It's a nice place not overly large but comfortable tables and booths to accommodate us well endowed fellas. Not loud or noisy which is nice for holding a conversation. The roast beef sandwiches were amazing. Mine was with creamed horseradish, pickle and red onion. Others had combos with cheese and au jus sauce. I was told I should hit this spot up. It is pretty far from St Pete main area, but I trekked out to give it a whirl. The staff are very friendly. The food is VERY expensive compared to what you receive... Just be ready for that. For a $50 meal I either expect huge quality or huge quantity. I received neither. It feels like food at a theme park. It is nostalgic of another location, but not as good. The roast beef is good. But it is not $11 good a la carte. The clams were good. The scallops were decent. The fried fish sandwich is gluten free when you order it with a GF bun. It's amazing and I am really sure not healthy, but hey sometimes you just gotta! I cried the first time I had it as it has been a minute since I had a delicious fried fish sandwich. The people working here are over worked and under staffed in my opinion, but they get it done and the food is hot and perfect. They also have the ability to serve up GF onion rings. YUM. The sandwiches here are outstanding -- I'm generally an average fan of roast beef, and I crave this place! I got a "small" sandwich as was completely satisfied. The staff was very friendly and accommodating, they were super quick to get a water for my son who was parched on a hot day. Just opened yesterday and close to where I live so I thought I would give it a try. Went through the drive thru as I was in a hurry. Must admit I had a bit of sticker shock as the prices were a bit higher than one might expect going through a fast food drive thru. I was the only one in line and I noticed lots of employees inside yet the order took a very long time. I ordered the large roast beef sandwich meal, it was over $17 with tax. While it had a decent amount of meat the sauce was definitely lacking taste, a bit bland for my liking. Fries were good, I just didn't feel like I got much bang for my buck unfortunately. read more

Lobster roll is absolutely the worst one I've ever had. It's just cold out of a package put onto a bun with lettuce. The Kelly's name is at a different level for lobster rolls and roast beef. The only thing this Kelly's has in common with Boston is the name and logo. Even the experience is unacceptable. Manager letting cashier have it for something then letting line cook have it for burning a bun and berating him because this is all the buns we have for tonight. I loved this traditional regular no cheese roast beef sandwich. 2 PM it was not busy, just a few other customers. Delightful personal service. Not a fan... First off - the signature "3 way" sandwich. It's a decent sandwich on paper. Is it supposed to be served cold? If so, they should mention it (there's no mention anywhere on the menu). Without hesitation I will say this was one of the most disappointing clam chowders I've ever had. So weak. Thin and watery potato soup essentially - plenty of potato! Again, if this is the style of clam chowder they want to present, great, it's just not like any New England clam chowder I've ever had. There was zero creaminess, just watery soup. Clam content was fine but I wanted clam chowder not clam & potato soup. I also got a side of fried clams. These were 100% fine, and cost 25 dollars. My meal's total price was over fifty dollars for three single items - stunning. Hate walking away from a **55 dollar meal** (NO BEVERAGES) feeling so disappointed. I could quite literally eat at almost any nice dinner restaurant anywhere in St Pete for that price, including tip. My husband has been wanting to try this place out so we came here with our 2 year old for lunch today. Based on my husband's initial description of where we were going, I wasn't expecting much to be honest, but upon walking into the restaurant I was pleasantly surprised by the clean, earthy vibes and minimalist type decor (really love the rope lights). Speaking of clean, this place was SPOTLESS and it seemed like someone was always very quick to wipe down any tables or areas that may have even needed even the slightest bit of attention. I personally appreciated that, because let's be real, restaurants can be dirty. Anywho, onto the food!.. because that is why we're here, obviously . My husband and I both ordered their roast beef sandwich (with mayo, horsey sauce and Swiss - and I added onion and tomato) which came with fries and our son had the kids sliders (with fries). These sandwiches are HUGE, packed with meat, and they were absolutely delicious. I barely ate half of mine, but we did also get an order of whole belly clams to share, which were very good as well. My husband said, "not quite like the ones in the northeast, but still pretty darn good" - which is a compliment because he is a total foodie and very particular, especially when it comes to anything seafood. The employees were also all very nice and attentive, checking on us just enough to see if we needed any extra sauces, drinks, etc...The prices might seem a little higher, and I have only been here this one time, but IMO you really get a lot of bang for your buck , especially when it comes to the ginormous sandwiches and generous serving of fries. Wow, as someone who has visited Boston and eaten at the Kelly's on Revere Beach, I never expected to find one in Florida. It looked closed when we pulled up and husband almost drove away lol. But I was persistent as I really wanted an authentic North Boston-style rare roast beef sandwich. It was open and we went in. It was empty other than us and the workers. It was a Monday and not busy season in Florida. We ordered our roast beef sandwiches and some cheese fries. They were AMAZING. Just like I remember. My husband had never had one and agreed it was phenomenal. How they get the roast beef melt-in-your-mouth tender is beyond me. Please open more locations but keep the quality. We used to have a local chain the Chicago suburbs called Cal's Roast Beef back in the 70s that had similar roast beef but sadly closed a long time ago. At any rate, if you are anywhere near here and want a break from shrimp/grouper/etc, which we typically gorge on as we can't get that fresh at home, GO TO KELLY'S!!! read more

Terrible. I have been to Revere Beach Kelly's in MA many times. It is an institution. Here in St. Petersburg, I ordered two large roast beef sandwiches with cheese and large onion ring, to go. $37.93. The roast beef was bland and so dry as to be inedible. The onion rings were soggy and inedible. Really bad. Genuinely one of the worst restaurant meals I have ever been served. I only tried Kelly's St. Petersburg one time, never again. read more
