The JR roast beef meal is very deceiving because there is nothing JR about it ha ha!!! I'm a larger guy and I am stuffed!!! It's a great value for sure! Customer service rep ERE who took my order was extremely nice and helpful, the sandwich tech presented and served the meal personally and even came back to make sure I was okay and to see if I needed anything further. First time here, heard about the Boston chain opening in Ft Myers. I had the original roast beef sandwich, a small one which is pretty big; I got it the Three Way which is bbq sauce, mayo & American cheese. I thought it was really good, a lot of beef on it. Hub got the steak & cheese, he liked it but said it was a little dry; needed some kind of sauce on it. We also got the cheese fries which has crumbled bacon on them, they were excellent! Not impressed. Had the small roast beef 3-way and a can of beer. 3-way means mayo, cheese and BBQ sauce. Cost $20. Not worth it. Roast beef was just ok. Employees were nice enough. I haven't been here for about 2-3 months; I ordered a roast beef sandwich and some onion rings to go; generally it takes me 2-3 meals to eat the entire thing...What did y'all do to those onion rings; they used to be perfection, now they are hard, overcooked and clearly cooked from frozen...$30 for a sandwich and onion rings, not sure if I will be back, really disappointed. read more

I went to Kelly's Roast Beef the other day for lunch. I decided to go inside and order instead of going through their drive-thru. I ordered their Original Roast Beef 3 way Sandwich with Fries for lunch. It took awhile to get my food even though there was no one else in line, so that was disappointing. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside looked new, modern, very clean, and had a nice feel to it with their open seating.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My roast beef sandwich was just okay. I liked the medium rare roast beef but I wasn't a fan of their signature 3 way sauces. Cost was also a little on the pricy side for what you get. Overall, average experience. read more

Lee & Kylie were so helpful in explaining the menu for us first timers. We got the roast beef sandwiches, with BBQ, American and mayo (aka the 3 way). I got coleslaw as my side which had a sweetness to it. My only complaint is that there was more sauce needed for it. My husband ordered the onion rings and they were very good! As a former resident of Revere Beach, Massachusetts, where the original Kelly's Roast Beef is located, I was beyond ecstatic when I heard they had come to Fort Myers. However, my first two experiences were awful and if I didn't have a place in my heart for the business, I would never have returned. First trip, no roast beef (at Kelly's ROAST BEEF) and second trip, no seafood. Are you kidding me?!? Plus, it seemed the manager was in over her head and completely useless. So, when my husband decided to return (one more time he said...), I was not supportive or happy. Upon arrival, I was glad to see there were customers and the place hadn't closed already (in spite of my anger, I LOVE Kelly's Roast Beef). We were greeted by a very friendly staff member, who we later learned was the manager, Lee Smith. Not only did he help us make decisions on our purchase, he thrilled my husband by alerting him to the fact there was roast beef available and there was beer available (while my husband was taking an extraordinarily long time to choose a drink). [[HIGHLIGHT]]He also made me happy by telling us we could sit outside (can't sit inside when eating at Kelly's...wanted to be reminded of eating my food outside, on the beach!).[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Once the food was prepared, Lee brought it outside to us and remembered to bring anything else we might need (napkins, tartar sauce, ketchup, salt/pepper, etc.). He also came outside 2 more times to see if there were any problems or if we needed anything else (which we did!). Lee is exactly what Kelly's needed at this location. His demeanor, his knowledge of the products, his pleasantries, his treatment of other staff members...everything about him says good management material. I hope he has a good career with Kelly's and I hope you don't lose him. Nice job (whomever made the decision to hire him)! I tried this back in May 2024. I was the only customer in the store for a long time. Order was wrong. Chowder was not good. Sandwich was uninspired. Flying insects all around. I knew it wasn't going to be around for long. It only cost me $20 to figure that out. read more

Great for Gluten free! On my visit staff were knowledgeable about cross contamination and ingredients. They have a gluten free bread option available and a separate fryer for their gluten free onion rings and fries. Food flavor was great. If you are looking for lightning fast service this likely isn't the place for you, they don't seem packed with employees but they were friendly and cheerful. Very happy with my experience. read more

Growing up in Boston and going to Kelly's regularly was always an amazing treat. Now living in Florida and seeing them franchise is exciting. I've been to Naples and was amazing just as good as back home. Unfortunately Ft Meyers location has some work to do. We had the clam chowder which had excessive potatoes, thicker than usual and not hot the way it has been at every Kelly's I've been to for 50+years. We had a grilled chicken sandwich and fish sandwich. Both were very good however fries not piping hot and they forgot tartar sauce on fish sandwich. Yay, finally Kelly's in Fort Myers!! I was so thrilled since I'm from the Revere area where Kelly's originated in Massachusetts. Kelly's was a stable at the Revere Beach location and it was crowded from morning till 2 AM. Wow what a disappointment today was. I decided to go with the clam plate, my favorite and my husband husband got his usual roast beef sandwich with sauce. Everything was super salty and pretty much hard to eat. I'm sad because I was looking forward to my clam plate, onion rings, and fries and tartar sauce. on a positive note my husband's sandwich was great from what he says. The young man working, Cassidy was wonderful! He was running the register, cleaning the tables, running food to his manager, who was sitting eating with a friend. I wanted to talk to the manager, but she only stopped at the other two tables bypassing our table. Sadly, this was a one and done for me and it really disappoints me to have to write this. read more

First and last visit. What a DISSAPOINTMENT. $28.00 for fried seafood platter portion was small. I chose clams and fish. The clams were tasteless not crispy. It came with some fries and 3 small onion rings. Fries clams onion rings; warm not hot. They splurged in providing two portions of Tatar sauce which tasted good! Service was pleasant and friendly. One of our dinner party had the roast beef sandwich their specialty, I think. Looked good and they enjoyed it... two people had chicken sandwiches. Forget that and go to Chik filet. Went for lunch, ordered the fish sandwich and it was delicious!!! Fish was crispy and tender juicy on the inside!!! Perfect!!! Got the meal and I must say that I really love the fries!!! I've been to Kelly original in Boston, Celebration and Fort Lauderdale. This is my first Kelly's roast beef. It lives up to the Kelly name. Misty was extremely helpful from order taking through making sure we had anything we needed. I had the roast beef, and chowder; while my wife had the lobster roll. All were amazing, definitely worth the drive across the state. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant was so clean that I was completely comfortable eating there rather than to go.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]I ate on the patio outside because I had my pet dog with me. Misty came out with a bowl of water for my puppy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I recommend Kelly's roast beef for every opportunity to have a good meal at a reasonable price. I've been 3 times now the roastbeef was amazing the 1 st time but had to bring it back because the bun was so burnt on the bottom I I couldn't bite thru it!! This was our second visit to Kelly's roast beef at Palmetto Commons and it will be the LAST! The first time, the service was slow but the food was delicious; tender, medium rare roast beef, with warm BBQ sauce, hot crispy french fries and onion rings and icy cold soft drinks. A bit pricey but worth it. And the staff was welcoming and helpful. Fast forward to the second visit (May 9, 2025) Only two people working; one person taking orders and one slicing meat. It took us almost 15 minutes to place our order because person taking our order was not very knowledgeable about the menu plus worked at a snail's pace. Then, we waited another 15 minutes to actually get our food. Here's what we paid almost $40.00 for: Very rare (almost raw) roast beef piled between a medium burnt, grilled roll, luke warm fries and barely warm, grainy corn meal coated onion rings. My sandwich was soaked in BBQ sauce and mustard (I asked for a little bit). The drinks, one regular and one diet were not marked...take your pick! Lastly, much of the roast beef was inedible due to the amount of fat and gristle in it. Yes, we could have brought this to the attention of the staff but since there were people now waiting in a line to try and place their order we passed on the complaint. Plus, the meat had a sheen to it and both of us were a little suspect about the quality and/or the taste of it. Better to leave it there and go home for some crackers and cheese. Down here for a couple of days. Drop the kids off at Topgolf and noticed Kelly's roast beef and I was really excited. Roast beef sandwich with just sauce was good just like at home. Nothing is ever the original,. The fries tasted a little different. A little more pepper than I would've cared for. Still, after reading a couple of the reviews I was a little bit nervous and ended up having a pretty good meal. I think one thing the staff could do is remember to put napkins and ketchup in the bag. I had gone through the drive-through and it was raining so I just didn't bother going back. I had the Original Roast Beef sandwich today at Kelly's with French fries. The 6 oz. sandwich portion is piled high with roast beef and a variety of condiments. The roast beef is absolutely tasteless. It has no flavor or spices to add some taste to the meat. Extremely disappointing. The fries were cooked in an unidentified oil, which rendered a forgettable taste. While the fries come in an ample portion, I ate about 3 fries and the rest went in the garbage can. Born and raised in Ma. I use to eat twice a week at the Kelly's roast beef in Framingham, MA. I was excited to see they were in Fort Myers where I now live full time. No comparison, not even close to what you get in MA. The roast beef sandwich was cold and dry. Back home it was served hot and juicy. To the manager I suggest you have someone from MA. come down for a week and train everyone on how they do it up north. Hope to see improvement. I will wait a couple of weeks and give it one more try. Visited Kelly's after hearing from a Boston buddy that their roast beef was king. Decided to try it out this afternoon and can say that their Roast Beef does take the cake as one of the best I've had. However, their onion rings were disappointing, whether from the breading used or time cooked. Their condiment menu was unclear as to what was charged a premium (for instance the bacon).
