I have to say that my wife and I set about visiting every local fish store we could find over a…read moreyear ago and wasn't impressed by any store we found at the time or owner(s) as much as we were impressed by Bruce and his store Sea Critters Depot. At the time I was thinking and wanting to get a salt water tank and even a reef tank, but thought it was just going to be impossible and really hard to do on my own as I just hadn't found a store or someone to help until I met Bruce. Bruce was so nice and patiently answered all my questions even though he knew I wasn't going to buy a thing that day and I didn't. I came back for a couple more weekends answering questions and didn't buy a thing and Bruce was kind and took the time to answer any question I came up with. Another thing that impressed me about how Bruce does business is that all those really expensive salt water fish you don't want to take home and die are put through quarantine by Bruce in his store for two weeks before he will let you buy them. Bruce doesn't have to do this and so far to date after being in this hobby for over a year Bruce is the only store that I've found that does this. Bruce is even nice enough to let you write your name on the tank for the fish you want in quarantine so you can pick the fish up after the quarantine is over. That way he doesn't sell you a sick fish and you know that as long as you do the right thing your fish will live a long time after you take the fish home. And this has been my experience. Every fish I've gotten has thrived in my tank. Another thing that impressed me that no other store I've been in does is that Bruce puts cards out on the tanks that shows a picture of the fish, the name of the fish, the price, and most important of all to someone with a reef tank is he tells you if the fish is reef safe, reef safe with caution, or not reef safe. So you know up front before you get excited to get a fish that it is safe for your reef tank or not. And for those that are safe with caution Bruce will gladly explain what you have to look out for and his experience with the fish. Bruce will tell you based on his considerable experience with the fish in reef tanks exactly how he expects they will behave and it's up to you to listen to his advice as he will let you buy it if you want the animal, but he certainly warns you first about what problems you may experience. I know I've not purchased fish based on what he's told me. And I've bought fish based on what he's told me and I watched to make sure I wouldn't have a problem since I know ahead of time that the fish might not be the best fit. You really can't go wrong buying from Bruce.

I took it back to the store with the receipt, still concerned that because it was glass I couldn't exchange it. Surprisingly, they were perfectly willing to work with me, exchange or refund. The manager said making me happy was his concern. Fortunately a young man was looking at it and found it was just a glue string that looked like a crack. I've been to many of their stores and had less than 5 star experiences. This one, however, seems to be doing things the right way!

Never, ever, EVER again…read more My 4 Yorkies normally go a private groomer but she recently had surgery so I've been taking them to Petsmart. They had an appointment today but they were short a groomer and asked if I could reschedule so I called to see if Petco could fit them in. They said yes and I took them in at 1:15. When I take them into PetSmart they typically get all 4 in and out in 2 to 2 and 1/2 hours. I didn't walk out of Petco with my Yorkies until 6:22. Over 5 hours. To make things a million times worse, the manager was RUDE and when I finally got them and they handed me my bill, I almost PASSED OUT. For 4 full grooms at PetSmart they charge me around $240.00 depending on what package I get and keep in mind, that's for 4 FULL GROOMS. Today, only two of my Yorkies needed a full groom. The other two only needed a bath and nail trim. The total with the same customary 20% tip? $380.00!!!!!! How on EARTH can they justify charging that much for two grooms and two baths??? I will NEVER set foot in that place again. Who can AFFORD that??? They just lost a customer for LIFE.

Only took about an hour and a half and he came out looking FABULOUS and more importantly not traumatized. I will definitely be back before we leave for home.

Such a perfect location, staff and ambience. We use the self wash for our small pet pig and our toy poodle goes to Zara (not sure how to spell her name) to get groomed. She does a beautiful job on our poodle. Even with all the dogs they seem to groom, each time I have been in there it is always clean, well stocked at the self wash stations, clean towels, and friendly faces. I am thankful to have found Dirty Dawg Pet Wash and look forward to each time we go.

I also was able to pick up a great Sassy Woof (a brand I was not familiar with prior) no-choke harness for my older pup, who has started pulling when we go for walks. The clerk was cheerfully very helpful in helping me find the perfect product for my needs, then helping me figure out how to get it adjusted to see what the proper size would be (without him there to try it on). At the checkout, there is a posted notice about a $0.10 charge for bags due to *reasons*, which is fine and understandable, given the cost of printed bags (seriously - I've been involved in pricing printed bags for a few ventures, and if you're not familiar, you wouldn't believe how expensive they can get!).
