So I went to a couple of places offering a free consultation, and Dr.Kellys practice just stood out to me the most. First off I met him at the free consult. Not only that but the staff was so nice and he is fantastic as well. They were more concerned about curbing any insecurities or worries I had about the procedure which by the way was bladeless lasik than pushing money and cost and trying to buy me. After that first visit instantly knew that he was the doctor who I was going to choose. So after paying deposit I got a date to do my surgery a week later. I went in SUPER nervous. Nurse Estrada and Dr. Kelly were super patient with me. Any and all questions I had they answered even when I was super nervous and emailing like crazy. I got a valium before the surgery went in. They first create a flap in both eyes, you cant see but it lasts all of 60 seconds pretty much and then they make you stare at a light whilst the machine shapes your cornea using lasers. The whole thing takes like 10 mins tops not even. I was super scared but Dr. Kelly walked through the whole thing. I got my cool shades and my eyes were so uncomfortable going home but as soon as I slept I woke up with the most awesome feeling ever. I could see without glasses!! It's super surreal. Dont regret not one moment. I highly recommend it and I highly reccomend Dr.Kelly and his practice. I'm writing this review about a month and half after. I had absolutely no complications as long as you follow instructions and use the eye drops prescribed you are golden. If price is an issue, they have a sweet financing plan better than the other practices, but dont compromise paying less for s worse experience it isnt worth it. My experience with Dr. Kelly was amazing. I've been a patient of his for years & last year in October I finally took the plunge and got Lasik Surgery. Before I go into details about the surgery, I must say that Dr. Kelly is HANDS DOWN the nicest person I've ever met. That comes with no exaggeration. He is so friendly and warm. You can tell he genuinely enjoys his job. Which to be honest, is rare these days. Every time I see him I always thank him for his bedside manor. When someone is working on your eyes , it is imperative that you have a good rapport with them. Dr. Kelly will always go above and beyond to make sure that you're comfortable. The process for Lasik was quite simple. I was TERRIFIED , but EVERYONE in the office made me feel at home. The front desk staff is friendly, which matters, because they are the first point of contact. They walked me through everything. Turns out it was very affordable. I was so excited that I booked it for the next week! The Lasik process was very quick , with a very fast recovery. I was able to go to work the next day! Dr. Kelly & his Ophthalmic Surgical Technician Karina were there every step of the way. The procedure took about 10 minutes & I was done. After a good nights sleep, I woke up the next morning feeling so grateful! Now a few months later, I go into the city and see all the lights so vividly at 20/15 vision (which is better than 20/20). Dr. James Kelly and his entire staff at Kelly Laser Center are truly amazing and the BEST! I have been wearing glasses/contact lenses for 20+ years. For the past 4-5 years, I have been contemplating about having LASIK surgery due to some personal and, perhaps, obvious reasons. After all, these are MY eyes! Now, to mention the best part...We all have found out or heard about things through other people's experiences and word of mouth (good or bad). Dr Kelly and his team are great. They went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable and explain everything in detail to me.After scheduling my surgery originally for December 2013 and I found out I was expecting. I was sure my deposit would be going to waste. I called the office to let them know and they were more than understanding. I was told that I can use my deposit whenever I come back to have the surgery done. It took me 4 years to finally go back and they honored their word 100%. I was able to use my deposit towards my surgery. The office staff is highly accommodating. Dr Kelly and his team are the friendliest and makes you feel at home. Exactly a week ago my life was changed forever. I got lasik. I have always wanted to get lasik surgery but I was so terrified. Particularly because I was born with a movement disorder which causes my hand to shake involuntarily. I always though any slight hand jerks during eye surgery could be lethal. Getting corrective surgery for my eyes with Dr. James Kelly was an absolutely incredible experience. From the free consultation to the post-op check ups I enjoy going to the office every time. The facilities they have are very clean and up to date in both offices (one in garden city, one in midtown Manhattan.) I love the staff there. They are all so friendly and welcoming while remaining professional. I've been nearsighted since I was in 2nd grade but Dr. Kelly has given me crystal clear vision. I considered Lasik for a long time and upon the recommendation of a friend went to see Dr. Kelly. From the onset Dr. Kelly and his staff put me at ease, answered all my questions and took the time to really go over everything with me.
