Management isn't good. I use to work there then got paid suspension then terminated. I was only there for 41/2 months and they was doing everything in there power. To fire me in the end 1/21and 1/28 I was blamed for overriding my OT and I didn't know what was going on. I was written up 3 times then my 4th on was and last one for talking to HR and they did like that so they retaliated against me but using my documented call outs and pto usage against me. I request that no one work there. read more

Kelly Services - The 3 written on the bottom left was documented and told to supervisors and the Ops manager. - Employment Agencies Near Me - Chicago, Illinois

I applied for a few jobs on the Kelly temp job site. I met with a recruiter, took a drug test, waited a few days for the background and criminal check. I called the recruiter back to see if at least one of the jobs I'm interested in is still available. The recruiter keeps telling me he will call me back. He never called back. read more

The job description and the job were two different things and no one would explain why. It seemed like a bait and switch. The onboarding was difficult and confusing. Anyone I talked to couldn't provide any clear answers or direction. I would not recommend Kelly. There are so many other good agencies out there, go find one of them and bypass Kelly!! read more

The two people I encountered from Kelly Services were very rude, inconsiderate, without integrity, and no people skills. No need to write a complaint because they are all the same. Any company who uses their services to find employees would be enlightened to know how detrimental their practices are when dealing with customers. I rate them at zero 0! read more

I applied here and they cant even give me the right direction for me to get my finger prints done then as a paraprofessional you have to pay a $50 fee while sincerity jobs have no fees un believe able they dont even cover there workers on top of that the pay is below wages im from here i should get paid minimum wage . read more

My local school system went with Kelly Services in order to outsource their substitute teacher hires. It's been a nightmare ever since. They are incredibly difficult to work with, when it comes to any form of assistance, and they make it almost impossible to get jobs. The school system used to have a fantastic substitute teacher hiring system, but they've ruined it for the entire county by going with these hack jobs. I wouldn't outsource this company to mow my yard. read more

Kelly services found me a job quick! and very easy process start work next week. Very kind people. Thanks to Nancy and Joy

I was at a good job and my position was eliminated. I am getting interviews for other jobs and in the meantime I need some money coming in. Things have changed since my temp days. Manpower is gone but Kelly is still around, so I thought I'd see if they could give me short-term temp work while I'm interviewing. I spent almost an hour on their web site uploading my resume and filling in my info. It was odd the experience section doesn't have a field to describe the jobs. After I'd entered and saved my info, I looked around their site and it's clearly not maintained well. When I went to the My Details section it said I don't have access. To my own details? I went to the profile section and started to fill it in and realized I already had - it apparently didn't save. A company that can't keep its website running probably can't do much else either. I see by the reviews I was correct about this. I didn't waste any more time on them. I wish I had that hour back to apply to a good agency. read more

Recruiter Shawn Leonard submitted my application to a company I wanted to work with. When I emailed him to follow up about the application he was dishonest and told me that he still waiting on an answer from the hiring manager. Eventually he stopped replying and never really kept me up to speed with the hiring process. I wasn't selected by the company and he didn't even have the decency to let me know even after me asking about two times. Kept me in the dark and couldn't let me know that maybe I wasn't a right fit for the the company. I've had way better recruiters in the past. Don't work with this staffing agency. read more

This is my first experience working with any Kelly office, but I have had a great experience so far. During the couple of months I've been working with them, I've had contact with several staff-members and each of them seem genuinely invested in my success - which definitely makes the whole stressful job-hunting process a bit nicer! The economy is always in flux and lots of things can affect how much companies are hiring or not hiring in the way of additional or temporary staff. I feel very lucky that just as I started working with Kelly, they happened to have a position that has turned out to be a great fit for me! read more

This company is a joke.....their personell is rude, they have no sense of followup, they with hold hours on people along with overtime, or you may not see your actual check for weeks at a time! They will not get away with it! making sure every incident gets filed with the appropriate federal and state agencies! I would not recommend using them for employment at all whether your looking for a job or filling a position. read more

This place is no help at all. You spend more time with the rep at your interview process then you never hear from them. I've emailed and left messages for Clare and she never responds. I wouldn't give this place a single star if possible. read more

Don't waste your time here. I met with someone from Kelly Services and left them feeling really good about our conversation. I was told I would be forwarded jobs to apply for that the recruiter thought I'd be a great fit for. I followed up after the meeting to show I was seriously interested. The recruiter responded to that follow up but then cut communications after that. If I'm not a good candidate, then tell me. Don't waste my time and lead me on. One of the worst agencies in Chicago which is saying a lot because there are some pretty trash ones out here. read more

I'm against temp services in general. Bit Amy Dougenski reached out to me and was very nice. She said I was an excellent fit for a logistics job. I decided I'd try it. I explained in advance that the issue I had was the background check. I did not want to do the work for the company. I'll sign the waiver and I have nothing to hide. Search away. She lied to me and said it was a simple form. I found that I in fact did have to do their job so they could simply verify my info. Its sheer lazyness and if its not 100 percent perfect they say you lied to them. So I had to call the court house and get exact dates. I mentioned that this was what I was talking about to Amy. It was like she had a personality change over. Once I had some time invested she thought she was going to treat me poorly. She said my interference with an official act charge was going to require a court narrative even though its the smallest charge you can be arrested for. I argued with a cop about going to jail over a public intox WALKING home from a bar. But Amy wanted to flex. She was rude, dishonest, and said of I didn't provide the document that does not exist we would not be moving forward. The clerk of court told me there was no information and I asked Amy to confirm for herself rather than insinuate that I was a liar. Well I had already decided we would not be moving forward based on her actions. I don't need their small time operation. Amy is one of those people who got the best job that allows her to control people. I would have done a great job for them. The last time she threatened me via email... I said, "great. Stop emailing me." I only wish her employers knew how she really is and her motivation for working that type of job. There is more insightful information I would like to share, but I'm going to keep it professional. Go apply. Tell me I'm wrong. read more

When I was in college, there were times in my life when I was in tough financial straits. At one time, to get by I thought I'd become a bike courier. I worked 10 hour days and 5 days a week for a crappy courier company, and while I sped past the upper-classes in their fancy business-casual attire (which at the time I envied), they looked at me like like I was of the lowest caste. I spent my days covered in bicycle grease, dodging taxi cabs, and finding McDonalds that don't lock their bathroom doors. After I realized those 50 hour weeks produced ~$200/week paychecks, I balked. And, one day while "at work" I saw an ad in The Reader that Kelly Services was hiring for data entry. I called and they immediately returned my phone call with a request for an interview. The next day I wore my best business casual outfit to my bike courier job, stopped by for an interview, and was hired on the spot. Over the rest of the summer I became one of the fastest data enterers the city has ever seen. Though I was glad when it was over, it was exactly what I needed at the time. Kelly Services was very easy to work with, and I thought they were very professional. My only complaint is that in between college and my "real job" (not attained through Kelly), I had called them to see if they could get me my old Data Entry position back. They said "Yes, probably", and then never called me again.... Luckily, fate called me a few weeks later. read more

We are an employer and we recently hired someone through Kelly Services. Here are the facts: 1) 2 candidates were initially introduced to us by a recruiter called Valarie Santillnes from their Alberquerque, NM office - Candidate A and B. 2) We decided we wanted Candidate A. 3) We were told that Candidate A declined even though she was extremely excited to start working for us when we interviewed her. We left with no other options but Candidate B, and we decided to give her a shot. 4) Candidate B started in January 2018 - She missed work a number of days, showed up late a number of times, and her work was below average. Nevertheless, she was trained and we decided to convert her to a full timer after 2 mths. 5) Candidate B became worse after she was converted and we finally let her go at the end of March. 6) After candidate B left, she called and told us her last pay check never arrived, and told us to resend her another check, which we did. Turns out, she got the original check, and cashed both checks, meaning she was paid twice for her last pay cycle. 7) Candidate B also proceeded to use those last checks to forge more checks and cashed about 8-10 fraudulent checks on our account. 8) After some investigative work, we found out that the Recruiter pushing Candidate B - Valarie Santillanes is Candidate B's mother. This information was never revealed to us, and it now makes sense why Candidate A "declined" the job offer and Candidate B was pushed so hard. What Kelly Services did for us after we filed this complaint - Teresa Nations - Regional Manager told us: 1) Told us it is not their problem. 2) Told us that we converted her and the fraudelent checks occured after we converted her 3) Told us that they don't have a policy against nepotism - they are allowed to push family members and relatives as they wish 4) Told us they don't do background checks, so if they introduce a criminal to us to work for us, its not their problem You guys can decide whether you want to use Kelly Services from our 1st and only experience with them. read more

I was hired instantly by Kelly Services. I drove to the location of employment on day one and arrived an hour early while the rep from Kelly Services ( Doug ) arrived about 7 minutes prior to the starting time. I was barely able to prep and get to the door on time for start because of his tardiness. Same thing on day 2. Same thing on day 3. On day four NO rep from Kelly Services arrived. We were told that on Day 5 ( a Saturday ) that there was mandatory over-time. On that day 5 I showed up again about an hour early - I show up early because of the long commute. Kelly rep ( Doug ) arrived about 5 minutes prior to start time and said we weren't needed - even though the corporation and reps from 4 OTHER temp agencies were there and approx. 50-75 of those temps did all get work. I had specifically called Kelly Services on Day 4 to let them know I had been showing up but we need the Kelly Rep ( Doug - or whomever ) to show up early and let us sign in. I was told by Kelly Services Kayla Klopp who works in the Frankfort, Illinois location hiring agency to just keep going. Ok. Day 5 - showed up, and again ( Kelly Rep, Doug ) shows up 5 minutes before starting time and says Just Kelly temp workers were not needed. I mention yet again please call me and let me know so I don't have to drive 26 miles one way ( 52 miles round trip ) for nothing - I call Kelly Services and again express to Kayla Klopp I've been showing up and early and the drive is a long commute can someone please tell me ahead of time if we are or are not needed. Day 6 I show up yet again. No Kelly Rep to sign me in. I call Kelly Service hiring rep Kayla Klopp that day and she is out of office. I call Kelly services the following day several hours prior to assignment to find out what is going on and learn the corporation supposedly dropped Kelly Services Temp agency. No wonder. Of the 3 days I did work no rep from Kelly Services introduced us to any supervisor, showed us where or what we would be doing, explained expected work hours, nothing. Complete Lack of respect, complete lack of professionalism, complete waste of time. I give a one star rating because Yelp won't let me give 0. Received no other calls regarding further employment for the times I was available ( afternoons, 7 days per week, anyday ). Also other temp agencies ( Elite, First Class, Staffmark ) employees were told if they arrive and were sent home they would receive 4 hours of pay for driving out. Kelly Services DID NOT reimburse for the drive and waste of time. Do Not Use Kelly Services. read more

Worked for them for over a year was not hired on full time for the temp job I was assigned even though I rarely called in and made the effort to prove myself. Kept being overlooked and overlooked. Talked with my reps about the issue they did not seem to care. Went to the HR they also seemed to not care. Finally got called 2 weeks before the holidays saying my assignment was terminated. They could not give me a good reason or give me the name of the person who made the call. When I asked why was my concerns not noted they said they don't file those nor look into them and then hung up on me. This company is an utter joke and should close their doors for good. Look someplace else for employment dont look for a temp agency like this. They will not care about your overall performance. read more

This place was disappointing. I went in to their downtown location, dressed to impress. I did some of their typing and excel tests, and then sat with Claire for a short interview. That night I got a call from someone else who works for Kelly, and she said they had a job opportunity. I was new to the process, so I asked her some questions about how Kelly works and what to expect, i.e. how I'm paid, how Kelly makes money, what kinds of jobs they are putting my name down for, etc. She answered them all with a snippy, sarcastic tone, like she was talking to a child. I just ignored her attitude and set up an interview with the company she found. As it turns out I didn't get the job - a two-month contract position at a publishing company - and I never received another call from Kelly for any other jobs. I dutifully emailed Claire every Tuesday saying I was still looking for work, but I guess that first offer was all they could do. read more

Where do I begin? So, Lizette Munoz and I had worked together for over a year where she was fully committed to finding placement at jobs that we felt would be a great fit for myself and the company. Liz was amazing my entire time working for Kelly! Her follow up was timely and she always remained honest with me on every level. My last position working for Kelly has now turned into a permanent, full time position with an amazing company in downtown Chicago, this all prior to my initial 6 week temp assignment was suppose to end. Liz called me with congratulations and support immediately! Her professionalism was appreciated but her personal nature was what I'll remember most! We connected instantly and she was truly there to support and help me be successful! Thank you Kelly Services! Thank you so much Liz Munoz! I recommend Kelly Services and definitely Liz Munoz! read more

If I could give it no stars, I would. The whole process of applying sucks. First, it was all on google hangouts. Second they asked me for my Facebook email and password. Which I should've known was a red flag. Then they completely changed my email and password on Facebook, even changed my Facebook link name to Latasha. And now they're saying they time me. Yet all the said was to stay off Facebook for a little while. All around horrible experience. read more

I had a very great experience with Kelly service during my hiring process. Olivia Sears was completely amazing.

kelly services is trash!!! How am I supposed to work if they can't even do their jobs right, todays the third time they messed up on my check and yet nothing was resolved, I have bills to pay and they expect me to be okay with them sending my check when they feel like it and yet it never arrives, so why do I have to pay the consequences read more

I completely disagree with everything people have commented! I met with claire and she was honest with me from the start. They are a business and job searching should be a full time job. She let me know that Kelly is just an added resource but as long as I email her every other week she will keep me in mind for openings. She also let me know that she has to follow what her customers are looking for. And I completely understand. After checking in for about a month, she found me a great job. I now have a weekly pay check and can put food on the table for my family. By far the best experience I've ever had! There is only so much a firm can do. Be grateful. read more

I've experienced Kelly Services in both SLC, UT & PHX, AZ....NOT a fan!! Horrible help from staff! I was in a bind after moving back and forth from state to state...Thought that a staffing agency could help in finding me work immediately, but no, not the case here. All I got was this, "we don't have any work for you at this time", "We're short staffed and I don't have the time to look for you right now, call me back".."Call again tomorrow", "i'll call you tomorrow". Really!!!?? after a month of this I stopped calling. Had to go out on my own and that is difficult too. I've never heard from them. WTH? How does this company stay afloat? I had an appointment with Lizette Munoz, and we went through the whole interview process. She told me about a couple jobs she was going to speak to on my behalf. She mentioned getting me in for an interview that week, and even went as far as to say the companies are both looking to immediately hire someone, if they like you, you may be working as early as next week. Then, she never called me again, or returned my phone calls. I've never dealt with an employment agency that was so unprofessional. I suggest you go elsewhere if you're seeking employment. read more

So I held off on updating this review, but felt the need to tell all other job seekers about the experience I had with Lizette Munoz. I have been working with Kellys for over a year when Tom and Claire were still there who were both extremely professional and even the branch manager Kevin was great! So to sum up my experience with Liz, she'd always speak to my like I was her best girlfriend and cuss on several occasions, but I thought hey, if she's gonna help place me I'm ok with that! Finally I was offered a contract position at a well known company which I jumped yet. First I was misquoted on the pay, then I was misquoted on the start date. I finally get to the company and I wasn't even on the security list! I waited in the lobby for over an hour and then Lizette told me to go home and I'd be paid for the time I was waiting (by the way still haven't seen that money). I was told the assignment would start in the next few days. I even have an email from Lizette saying " Don't worry you have a job." I continued to check in and she ignored my calls and emails. Meanwhile, I had no income coming in because I wasn't working and had to borrow money from my parents. Meanwhile, she didn't have time to respond to my emails and calls yet was able to post on snapchat. Funny how that works huh? Finally exactly a week later I was told the assignment was cancelled and offered me a two day a week assignment for two weeks. Lizette was so unprofessional on every level. I followed a link for a "temperature checker" at a location very close to me. Kelly responded immediately upon receipt of my application saying I'd gotten the job. Followed online by an entire copy, clip, paste any and all information about myself INCLUDING my SS# and bank account information. I have a non-violent misdemeanor which I revealed. A gal from Kelly responded and wrote the NON VIOLENT NO DRUG related misdemeanor was being reviewed by their "compliance department". I explained the exact details of this misdemeanor to the Kelly gal. She said "Thanks! I'll let the COMPLIANCE DEPARTMENT know!" Tee hee!! Still waiting. Sounds rather discriminatory to me - and another come-on for honest, hard working folks seeing employment. I'm still waiting to hear back about the job...and I will be waiting a long time. I spent many hours over 3 weeks, 3 visits to Kelly's office, a job location, and another location for fingerprinting, applying for a data-entry job, to then be told only night shifts were available. In 2 months, the only job I was offered was the next day at the convention center, 5:45a.m.-4p.m., on your feet 10hrs, can't bring a purse, yet no lockers for storing anything, parking $22/day and farther away than the length of any break (1st bus to McCormick Place starts at 6:30a.m.). The fine print in 3 pages of paperwork said arrive 15 min. early for paperwork, not mentioned when I was called about the job. Horrible! They called me for a position came in took dumb tests. NOTHING! No call backs or follow-up! Don't waste your time!

At first, my recruiter was very professional, and set up an interview with the co. (who shall not be named here). Next - "Hey you got the job" - good news, next he gave me a start date and time, but wait that changed, no - no it didn't , very confusing....I might have not shown up. Next I started 2-weeks training in a training room all by myself and the "trainer", because someone did not start with me - very awkward. two weeks training goes by, training is very irratic with this company (someone within the company warns me of high turnover-tough job to do). I'm still up for it. getting ready to start up on the phones next. Next, I show up to work, and the assistant manager says - hey didn't kelly services call you to let you know we don't need you and your employment has ended with us?? NO - No phone calls, no voice mails, no e-mails- how embarrasing !!!!! I called the agency and my recruiter says he left me 2 voice mail not to come in ... looked for voice mails - nothing in my phone! SO, I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND Kelly as an agency to do business with.....your better off on your own and steer clear of temp agencies (they are worker mills - they don't care as long as there are applicants coming thrugh the revolving door) in general, if you can. - Rob G. read more

Was called in for an interview, I had to reschedule for later in the afternoon or another day due to not being able to make my 10:00am appointment. I live downtown but I had to go out of the city for an emergency that morning. I tried calling to reschedule and no one answered the phone. I called maybe 4-5 times and no answer. I emailed the recruiter to try and reschedule and she gave me a later time of 1pm. Great. I come into their office and waited for the recruiter. When she came out, she asked me how my morning was and I told her it was pretty hectic but I am glad to be here. She then asked me if I really live downtown, if so, why did I have to reschedule? I explained to her I was unexpectedly needed in Lakeview that morning and wasn't going to make it back downtown on time. She kept grilling me about where I was, what my appointment was, and I knew she was trying to accuse me of lying. She had a nasty attitude the rest of the "interview" when she asked me 2-3 questions about my resume, and said she'll call me soon. I didn't even take a typing/Excel test. I didn't appreciate being subtly accused of lying and then a half ass interview. No thank you read more
