Stopped in for the first time for the prime rib. Lydia, our server was great! Super happy and attentive. Took care of us right away. 1/2 lb. burger was good (and huge). Prime Rib itself was good, but a little disappointed with canned mushrooms as an add on. Had I known they were not fresh or sautéed, I would have passed. The included salad was also good, it had broccoli and egg in addition to the normal salad toppings. I passed on the included potato and roll (not pictured) (I'm keto). The venue was clean and inviting and service was great. Overall, not bad - we also added a cup of soup for the burger. $54 without tip. read more

Kelly's Pub used to be great food awesome fast friendly service, alas that is no longer true! Wait for 50 minutes for Friday fish fry which is unacceptable especially when the wait staff serve friends first even though you've been sitting for a long time. We watched a few couples actually walk out. The food is nice but getting way out of my budget. Paying extra for the regular things like sour cream in a tiny tub, extra charges if you make choices, no drink top ups were offered and we both had soda's? To top it off we were given the wrong bill, had to wait for ours to arrive and no apologies. Sorry after being regulars for over 4 years we won't go there again. read more

I cannot express in words how amazing the wings were. I have never had anything like that. It was about 17.50 for 10 so I thought that was pricey at first but when they came out I realized it wasn't. HUGE wings cooked perfectly just absolutely phenomenal. Bartender Jenny was also really nice and you could tell she had regulars and cared about them. These wings are not what you expect. Arrived at 850 pm and was met by the least friendly bartender I've ever met. Asked if the kitchen was still open and was told they just closed the kitchen. Never asked if we wanted a drink. Felt unwelcome. I looked at their "website" which is their menu, and it says 11 am to 11 pm. Since I was meeting family from Kenosha and Burlington I called their number earlier in the day. There was no answer, and their mailbox was full. Very disappointed in the service, or lack there of, and their communication of the kitchen hours. Please let folks know your serving hours. This is a nice dive bar. We went for the Friday fish fry. We were not disappointed. They have cod, blue gill, walleye and we enjoyed their perch. Conventionally served with a piece of rye bread, 2 potato pancakes, apple sauce and Cole slaw. Not crazy about the Cole slaw but the perch and potato pancakes were top notch. Nice breading on the perch. Neither the perch nor the pancakes were greasy. The pancakes were crispy, not soggy. Kelly's makes the 6th fish fry in northeastern IL I've been to in the past 4 months. Kelly's beat all no question. My dinner tab, with a drink, was $21.00. The place is clean and the service was prompt for a Friday fish fry. I'm anxious to try the ribs on their menu. First time here. It was bigger than I thought it would be. Service was friendly and the place was very clean. I ordered the fisherman special which was cod, scallops and shrimp. It came with potato, Cole slaw and soup or salad. I got the potato pancakes and salad with French dressing. The salad was huge. It was greens with celery and carrots. If u eat the whole salad you would be full, was a nice extra you don't get with many fish frys. My husband got the mixed fish fry with perch, cod and blue gill. I have to say that both plates were heaping with food. My goodness. I thought his fish was better because it was freshly made in a beer batter. Mine was a bit more breaded and pre packaged. Mine was good, don't get me wrong but after trying all of ours, I would go with just the cod fish fry or perch fish fry next time. read more

The family had not been in for some time and missed their fish fry. Since we were in the area we knew we had to stop in. We were seated quickly and given menus. The fried fish and fries were still good. The broiled fish was served undercooked. One member of the party ordered potato pancakes but received hash brown rounds. Much different then pancakes. We discovered this little gem on a road trip to stock up on our favorite New Glarus Beer. We crossed just beyond the Cheddar Curtain and found Kelly's Pub. Kelly's Pub is a friendly, comfortable, rural pub & grill that is a perfect spot to wet your whistle and grab a bite. Friendly customers and folks behind the bar make you feel right at home even if you are a first timer. What sets Kelly's apart from other country taverns is the food. My wife and I ordered the lake perch dinner. I ordered them with potato pancakes and the wife had the crinkle-cut fries. The fish was perfectly prepared with a light, puffy batter. The potato pancakes were A-OK and not the slightest greasy. Even the cole slaw was crisp, fresh and had a nice peppery flavor. The icing on the cake is Spotted Cow on tap - Yeah! To sum it up, Kelly's has great food, friendly atmosphere and service, and great prices. Kelly's Pub is a great excuse for a road trip. We'll be back. read more

Have been here multiple times and have enjoyed the dining area and the bar on different trips. This place is very friendly and I have yet to have something to eat that wasn't good. Their burgers are very good. These are highly recommended. My most recent trip my friend and I had the broasted chicken and potatoes. Both of these were very good. The chicken serving was huge and hot. We went on a weeknight and we were the only ones there using the dining area. We still were waited on in a timely manner and had the space to ourselves which was kind of nice. This is a great place to grab some dinner and I will definitely continue to visit! read more

I come here all the time. Especially for the hot beefs. They're pretty amazing. The burgers are just average. Get something else. Gyros just ok. For me it seems like the hot beefs are the best thing on the menu. Make sure your bun is toasted so the juice doesn't make your bread soggy read more

We were in the mood for fried chicken. I found Kelly's pub on Yelp, and thought we would give it a try even though it is out of the way. We were not disappointed. When we first walked in, it appeared that the dining area was closed, but we were warmly greeted by the bartender, and had a seat at the bar. We had a few pints of delicious New Glarus Spotted Cow, and ordered the broasted chicken. I've gotta tell you, that chicken was absolutely amazing, as were the broasted potatoes and coleslaw. Huge delicious portions. It was topped of with more great service by another bartender. Amazing broasted chicken! If you visit any day besides a Friday or Saturday go with the chicken. If you go on a Friday try the fish fry or even better the fish boil. The fish boil is only available once a month. And on Saturday you must have the prime rib, it's big enough to feed a few. All of their soups are homemade and delicious. If you are looking for cold beer and good food this is the spot. It's not a four star restaurant but you won't complain about the food. read more
