Backstory: I drank here a few times in my 20s, always had a good time. More recently (like a week ago), I broke down on Grass Lake Road right outside the bar. Ran out of gas. And IMMEDIATELY, 2 of the employees and four of the patrons were by my side, helping me push the car over the tracks. WHEN THE TRAIN SIGNAL STARTED RINGING. And these people pushed my car over the tracks in one last push, and got me safely to a parking lot. They helped me back to the bar safely, helped me arrange a ride, and were incredible. So if you want a place where people are genuinely good people and will help a total stranger in a bad situation, you found it. And from what I recall, they make some AMAZING White Russians. Will I be back? Yeah, obviously. Probably with some baked goods to thank them, but first I want to let people know that the employees and patrons both are good people. And that's the kind of place that should get more attention. read more

First and Foremost, let me just tell you how amazing this place is! Chris the owner makes the best food, and Colleen the Bartender on Saturday is such an amazing bad ass!!! I was In Illinois for work and stopped in a couple times and immediately felt like I was at a local watering hole in my hometown. The burgers are amazing, and the atmosphere makes you feel so relaxed. So grab a Bud Heavy, a shot of Crown, a Burger and have a seat with your friends on their patio. Absolutely worth checking out the burgers here. Their sign says, "best burgers on GrassLake Rd and rt 83" but they truly are, and beyond. The cowboy burger is my go-to with seasoned waffle fries. Cooked perfectly with great flavor and reasonably priced. read more

A cool looking rock n rolling roadside pump that has a nice small kitchen and a good overall Dive Bar look. There is outdoor seating and this place is among the coolest places I have seen in McHenry County there's nothing to complain about here and this is a dark corner roadside biker bar perhaps where everyone seems to know each other's name read more

My wife and I visited on a Friday night as we've been trying to seek out new places that we pass. It's definitely a bar setting. I wouldn't say good for kids. Some video gaming machines and a pool table. There's a few tables for people to sit and then seats at the main bar. Seems most of those in the place knew each other...so a local place for sure.... Maybe why it seemed everyone looked at us when we walked in. Ha! Not a quiet place. It was hard to hear my wife without her having to yell, but honestly it's what you'd expect in this type of place. Only a few TV's on the walls....which I'd personally like to see a few more, especially if there are local sports on. Food menu has a lot of stuff for such a little place. Waitress/Bartender was running back and forth. Did a nice job with all she had going on and was friendly. We had of course seen the "Best Burgers on 83 and Grass Lake" sign that has been there for a long while...so I had to try a burger....the Cowboy burger. My wife had the chicken sandwich. Both came out fairly quick and they we're good. My burger still had a little pink, so it was certainly about the medium that I ordered it. My wife said her sandwich was perfectly done. Both also came with good helpings of waffle fries. They could have been cooked a tad less, but still pretty good. Drinks were average price if what you see in the area. Parking is definitely limited and folks were doing some creative things in the parking lot. Overall, it was a pretty decent meal. Not the best burger I've ever had, but I'd certainly get one again. Might be fun to mix in with the local crowd a bit more. If you want some good food and an entertaining atmosphere, leave the kids at home and go on over and give it a try! read more

The food here is by far the best traditional American grill (and gyros) I've ever had. The Cowboy Burger is amazing. The Reuben is very tasty. The grilled chicken is moist and tender. Wonderful pizza. Even the salads are really good. The owner really cares about the food and you can taste it. The staff is always very friendly and quick. If you are thinking of trying this place out for dinner, don't come too late during the week during the fall through spring as parking can be really tough after 8pm due to pool and dart leagues, so try to get there before 7. read more

Nice little neighborhood bar, with a very nice deck in back. We had gyros sandwiches and a gyros salad, but the meat was a little overcooked. I hear the burgers are very good, so we will return again and try those instead. Corner Crossing is a great local bar. The people are friendly, the food is GREAT (try the Malibu Chicken sandwich, can't go wrong!). Their pizza is the best "bar" pizza you will ever have and the burgers are great too. Honestly I've never eaten anything that wasn't good there. The ambiance is nice, the new owner put a really nice deck and gazebo so when it is nice outside you can enjoy your lunch, dinner or whatever out doors. The bartenders are always friendly, and quick. The people who go there range in ages, so most people are comfortable there. Great place to go to meet friends or have a nice lunch. read more

After driving past this place for years (it doesn't look like much on the outside), my husband and I decided to go in and give it a try for lunch one Friday. We were very pleasantly surprised at the cleanliness. My first impression was that the place is extremely clean (rare for a bar) and very well taken care of. The service was spot-on and the food was awesome. We have been back several Friday's for lunch since and have yet to be disappointed. We will definitely be back!
