I've tried other places and while the service was good, it just didn't feel like "home". After searching I came across Salon Eros on a fb post with one the stylists, Lindsay, advertising her services. After looking at her instagram photos I decided to try out her services and I'm so thankful I did. From the minute I walked in I was greeted with such a friendly welcome. We did the initial consultation of what I was looking to achieve with my haircut and I was so in between 2 styles. After talking things over we started the service and the whole experience I couldn't have asked for anything better. Lindsay just isn't a great stylist but the conversations we had was more than I could ever ask for. I have never opened up to someone I did not know about any of my personal matters and she just made me feel so welcome to be able to do that. I felt as if we had been friends for years. She shared some of the same struggles that I'm currently going through and it was just such a breath of fresh air. Over the course of 5 months planning my wedding I as well as my mother had multiple conversations with her regarding hiring her for henna as well as makeup/hair services for my wedding. I had asked her over the phone and via text if she would be able to work with my mom's thinning hair to style for the wedding. We sent her multiple pictures and she with the utmost confidence said she could do it and will gladly work my wedding weekend. She asked for specific details of when the henna would be as well as when and where the wedding would be. She was asked to do sari drapping for myself as the bride and 3 bridesmaids and my mother in addition to hair and makeup for my mother. We told her the wedding was in downtown Chicago and parking would be accomodated. She gladly agreed on the phone and when I asked if she needed a deposit or had a contract she said no I don't need anything just the details of the wedding. We followed up with her as we came closer to the date and she had no concerns. The week of the wedding my mother reached out to confirm the time of the henna and mentioned that she needed her to arrive early on site for the wedding morning. Her story quickly changed to " I never agreed aunty that I would be free for the wedding. I already have a booking for a large bridal party of 10 girls." The emotions of how upset, frustrated and shocked I was that she would cancel the week of the wedding for another client just because the party was larger was unbelievable. She claimed she would find a partner to work the wedding and would still come to do my henna. When she arrived almost an hour late she continued to ruin the mood with discussion of a larger order. And when doing my henna she did a quick sloppy job on the back side of my hands so that she could be done. She claimed that it was the design I chose and not her work. The morning after she called to ask how my henna had turned out and to chase quick pay her immediately if I still wanted her coworker to come to my wedding. I discussed my horrible experience with another bride and she told me she had a similar experience and would never recommend her. It is satisfying to know I wasn't the only one and she indeed is a bad business person but heartbreaking that she would behalf this way on such a joyous occasion. I was fortunate to have a friend save the day the morning of my wedding. Not all are so fortunate so buyer beware she's only out for the money.

Her prices are very, very reasonable for the service that you receive, her work is just fantastic. One of my favorite aspects to her business is that she offers many options for everybody--she can do just eyes, foundation, cover-up tattoos, etc so you don't have to spend a lot of money if you don't want to. Some of my girls did the full airbrush while others just opted for their eyes to be done. If you are a bride I highly suggest the airbrushing and eyelashes--I got compliments on my makeup all night long and it lasted until the next day!
