Over the course of 5 months planning my wedding I as well as my mother had multiple conversations with her regarding hiring her for henna as well as makeup/hair services for my wedding. I had asked her over the phone and via text if she would be able to work with my mom's thinning hair to style for the wedding. We sent her multiple pictures and she with the utmost confidence said she could do it and will gladly work my wedding weekend. She asked for specific details of when the henna would be as well as when and where the wedding would be. She was asked to do sari drapping for myself as the bride and 3 bridesmaids and my mother in addition to hair and makeup for my mother. We told her the wedding was in downtown Chicago and parking would be accomodated. She gladly agreed on the phone and when I asked if she needed a deposit or had a contract she said no I don't need anything just the details of the wedding. We followed up with her as we came closer to the date and she had no concerns. The week of the wedding my mother reached out to confirm the time of the henna and mentioned that she needed her to arrive early on site for the wedding morning. Her story quickly changed to " I never agreed aunty that I would be free for the wedding. I already have a booking for a large bridal party of 10 girls." The emotions of how upset, frustrated and shocked I was that she would cancel the week of the wedding for another client just because the party was larger was unbelievable. She claimed she would find a partner to work the wedding and would still come to do my henna. When she arrived almost an hour late she continued to ruin the mood with discussion of a larger order. And when doing my henna she did a quick sloppy job on the back side of my hands so that she could be done. She claimed that it was the design I chose and not her work. The morning after she called to ask how my henna had turned out and to chase quick pay her immediately if I still wanted her coworker to come to my wedding. I discussed my horrible experience with another bride and she told me she had a similar experience and would never recommend her. It is satisfying to know I wasn't the only one and she indeed is a bad business person but heartbreaking that she would behalf this way on such a joyous occasion. I was fortunate to have a friend save the day the morning of my wedding. Not all are so fortunate so buyer beware she's only out for the money.

It had a contemporary, modern look and was very clean. I was greeted with a friendly "hello" from everyone in the salon and it was quite welcoming. I specifically asked for Latayvia and she ensured I was at a sink within a few minutes of my arrival. I left the salon with great smelling hair and my curl pattern looked gorgeous. My Experience- I want to preface my experience by saying: whenever you go someplace new for your hair, it's important to discuss what you like and how you like things done. The stylist can't read your mind and has to learn more about you. The person who washed my hair was very gentle. However, I like a vigorous wash, so I asked if she could dig a bit deeper. Latayvia overheard the conversation and decided to help the young lady. After listening to me, she proceeded to wash my hair the way I preferred. I really appreciated that she didn't insist on doing it her way and was open to hearing what I like. Latayvia maintained a cheerful attitude and made me feel relaxed. By "learning" me, I know that when I return, she'll know exactly how I want my hair done. I highly recommend True Elegance!

Overall I had a great experience, and communication was wonderful with them. Would definitely go back again!

I was a regular client of the owner of Eros Salon for approximately a year, going to her for hair…read moreextensions, color and cuts. My appointments were typically very long--often around six hours--and I spent a significant amount of money on my hair over the course of that year. Unfortunately, my most recent experience showed me exactly how little my business and loyalty apparently meant to her. Before my appointment, I texted to let her know I was running late. While I was already on my way, she began texting me about her 15-minute grace period and telling me she had another client after me. Fair enough--salons have schedules and late policies. But what happened when I arrived was completely unacceptable. Instead of having a normal, professional conversation with me, the OWNER began yelling at me. I was honestly shocked by the level of hostility, attitude and disrespect. I wasn't going to stand there and allow someone I had paid thousands of dollars over the course of a year to scream at me, so I left. Then came the dispute over the hair I had already paid for. Despite the appointment not proceeding, she refused to refund my money for the hair. That only reinforced my decision that I would never give this business another dollar. The most disappointing part is the owner's attitude. In my experience, she behaves as though she is somehow above her customers and entitled to speak to people however she chooses. There is an arrogance and unpleasantness that I overlooked for far too long because I had an established relationship with her and liked having consistency with my hair. This final incident was the last straw. Let's be clear: this isn't some exclusive celebrity salon where customers should feel privileged just to get through the door. It's a neighborhood salon in Hoffman Estates. Customers are the reason any salon stays in business, and treating a loyal customer as though she's beneath you is an incredibly poor way to run one. I fully acknowledge that I was late. If she couldn't accommodate me, all she had to say was, "I'm sorry, we need to reschedule." That would have been the end of it. Instead, she chose to yell at me and turn a scheduling issue into an ugly confrontation. After being a loyal customer for a year, I walked away from this experience thinking: Why did I ever tolerate this woman's attitude or spend this much money here? My recommendation is simple: steer clear of Eros Salon. There are far too many talented stylists and professional salon owners in the area to spend your money somewhere you may be treated with hostility and disrespect. I will never return, and I absolutely do NOT recommend spending your money here! The owners demeanor is deeply unpleasant, unnecessarily hostile and unprofessional!
