Over cooked chicken. It was rough

This sucks my dad works so hard and all he wanted was some good wings he ordered 10 wings and they were overcooked and green tomatoes and fried mushroom were burnt and I can tell THEY ARE COOked IN OLD OIL GOD BLESS whoever was cooking but it sucks that this happened. Keep your money definitely a ruined spot for us

So good fresh and hot definitely 5 star reviews. I will most definitely be visiting this spot again. Customer service was great.

So good food was hot and fresh. I had a side of mac & cheese. I drive trucks from out of town. My terminal is not far from here so I tried it for the first time and I will definitely say I will be coming back. Customer service was great.

1lb BBQ with a side of BBQ Sauce.

Traveling through on I 40 and wanted to get some barbecue. On Sunday in this area it seemed like the other barbecue restaurants were closed. This is in West Memphis. So I chose Kelly's kicking chicken. Pull pork did not disappoint! It was very moist and nicely cooked. It has some seasoning but not over seasoned by any means. I asked for a side of barbecue sauce and I had enough for a few pounds. Overall great food would definitely stop in again. The customer service was excellent and very friendly

Food was good ...only wish the hot sauce was more spicy than vinegary! Good customer service! Reasonable price i got 5 whole wings and fries for $16 and some change!

Honey hot chicken tenders

Really tasty food, hot, taste fresh, chicken was juicy, hush puppies were delicious. Took about 10 minutes to get our food which was very reasonable for fresh made food. The restrooms were also very clean.

Food is great. I'd give it five stars aside from having to refinance my house to buy a 40 piece for a family of five.

This place was very interesting to me. The look and vibe of it was very nice. It is a more upscale…read morerestaurant which is always nice for a special evening out. The food however was honestly meh (in my opinion). I got a creole dish and to be fair my dish looked beautiful. The plating was 10/10 but the taste for me left something to be desired. After eating this dish I questioned if I even like creole sauce because it really just wasn't that good. If this is a preference issue, I honestly don't know. I also thought the charcuterie appetizer had a weird mix of items on it from club crackers, to meat and cheese, and random veggies. Not bad but just kind of a weird mix. My husband ordered the salmon and he said it was good, not the best he's had but it was good. Other friends of ours got the white fish among the many other dishes. I did have a salad with these apples on it which was incredibly yummy. I will say though my dish looked amazing some of the other dishes were not plated well. Not to nitpick but to want to be considered a more upscale restaurant which means charging guest more money than say a local Applebee's then knowing how to appropriately garnish or drizzle sauce to elevate at plate is important (see my picture of the chicken dish). All and all not my favorite restaurant but definitely not the worst!!

Waitress came over to introduce themselves and recommend us starters & drinks for the evening. Starters & Drinks: I ordered the Caesar salad & my man got the goat cheese salad. He ordered a blackberry smash while I got sprakling Pear. Took the waitress some time to come back over so we can order our main course. Took another 30-35 mins for the entrees to come out. Entree: creole spiced braised pork osso buco & short rib pasta. I give this place a 7.5/ 10 due to the food wait times. I will try on another day

There is plenty of parking in a lot across the street. We went inside and found it to be pretty busy, but we got a table for 4 quickly. The place was clean and homey-feeling and I loved the fact that they used disposable plates, utensils and napkins! It is probably way easier on the crew to clean up, and it adds to the relaxed atmosphere. I had the corn nuggets to start, yum! We finished them easily, they were so good. Then the entree of my chicken tenders, beans, and Mac and cheese came out, along with my sweet tea. The sweet tea was perfect, I drank a whole one during my meal and they gave me another to go in the souvenir Gus's cup. The food was just great, chicken was juicy and perfectly crunchy on the outside. Beans and Mac and cheese, delicious! I ate all of it even though I was stuffed. I even went so far as to order a piece of pecan pie for dessert, but unfortunately our server came back out to tell us they were out of it! Guess it wasn't meant to be (this time)! Our server was really friendly during our whole meal, chatted with us a little and made sure we had a great experience! Bottom line.... Go to Gus's!

He chatted with us as we waited at our table for our orders. He served our orders and bused our plates too. He does everything and is very personable providing welcoming hospitality. And he's only worked there for a mere 5 weeks. I asked him who the owner is and he directed me to Jerry and Patrice Thompson, two of the nicest folks you'll ever meet. Jerry has a big welcoming personality and a great sense of humor. Fried catfish fillets were excellent! Crust was just right and the fillets were moist. I ate everything in my plate. Peach cobbler was warmed up, we opted to not have it w ice cream, and it is the best in Memphis! Such a long and storied history for this restaurant. We are so glad we came here and will return next time we are in Memphis. My only regret is we were too full to eat fried chicken too.

What started as lunch quickly turned into karaoke -- LOL! The atmosphere was fun, welcoming, and full of good vibes. The food was so amazing that we had to personally meet the cook. Tyrone came out to our table, and let's just say that tip was WELL deserved! As we say in the Carolinas, "he put his foot in that food!" There were 13 of us, and despite our large group, the waitress never skipped a beat -- all while being the only server working during Friday lunch service. Her professionalism, attentiveness, and positive attitude truly stood out. The service, food, and ambiance made this an unforgettable experience, and these Carolinians will definitely be back! This place came highly recommended. We went to check it out on a Sunday and the expectations were…read morepretty high. You place your order first and then you find a seat if one is available to dine in. Dining is limited and the establishment consist of local black artwork covering the walls there is an upstairs area, but that seating is also limited. The owner was very proud of his establishment and gave us the history of how they came about and who cooks what in the restaurant. The service was great the food unfortunately did not match. I'm all for supporting black owned businesses, but I have to give honest feedback. Starting with the sides, the spaghetti, the cabbage, and the greens all had excessive amounts of sugar in them, which was such a turn off, everything taste the same it was so sweet it created a film in my mouth of sugar. The sweet tea lemonade mix was again full of sugar. You couldn't taste the lemonade or the tea. It was just sweetness. I do understand certain people like their food like this. I however, am not one of those individuals. The turkey ribs, a.k.a. clavicle bone taste like smoked bologna and the A1 barbecue sauce did not enhance the flavor whatsoever I nor my mother could finish our food the cornbread taste like mush everything overpowered everything there was no distinct taste of broccoli or cheese just mushy wet undercooked cornbread that again was sweet. The only star of the show for this experience was the fried fish. It was cooked to perfection seasoned well surprisingly without sugar. We could not finish our food after a couple of bites so we took it to go and handed it to a homeless person on the way home. I love the concept of this establishment. I love how they incorporate other black businesses and I can tell he is proud of his work. I would love to support in other ways, just not through the food unfortunately, I will not be returning but I pray this establishment continues to improve, evolve, and thrive, it's a million herbs and spices to utilize, sugar doesn't have to be one of them and for $70 bucks I do expect to enjoy the food to some extent.
