I tried their boneless chicken wings for the first time. They were delicious, tender, moist, and perfectly cooked. I placed the minimum order of ten (10). At 60 cents each, they were worth every penny of the $6.00 plus tax. I think that they actually gave me a dozen! (The boneless wings are are actually chunks of breaded, fried chicken.) One thing to remember is that if you place an order at the drive through at around 5:00 pm, expect it to take 15 or 20 minutes to receive your food. I should have called in my order, but it was a last second decision to swing by there. Fortunately, they've repaired their speaker box in the drive through lane. As always, the owner was very affable, and seemed grateful for the business from customers. I shall return. read more

This sucks my dad works so hard and all he wanted was some good wings he ordered 10 wings and they were overcooked and green tomatoes and fried mushroom were burnt and I can tell THEY ARE COOked IN OLD OIL GOD BLESS whoever was cooking but it sucks that this happened. Traveling through on I 40 and wanted to get some barbecue. On Sunday in this area it seemed like the other barbecue restaurants were closed. This is in West Memphis. So I chose Kelly's kicking chicken. Pull pork did not disappoint! It was very moist and nicely cooked. It has some seasoning but not over seasoned by any means. The best wings. So crispy, so well seasoned. And the staff working there are so nice. We were greeted by an older gentleman in the parking lot as we walked up. He asked us where we were from, and when he found out Texas, he had to make sure we weren't Longhorn fans (he routes for the Volunteers), lol. He continued asking if we had ever been there, and when we said no, he said not to order until he gave us something to try. When we got inside, he brought out 3 wings that had their house seasoning. Wham, bow, pop! No need to look at the rest of the menu. We ordered 50 of them along with hush puppies (best hush puppies I've ever had, too, including my own homemade ones). The service was great! We had the whole chicken wings, fried green tomatoes, chicken Philly & catfish fillet. I would say that all of the food had flavor. The only thing i would ask for in the future is the tomatoes be placed in a container that won't sweat the food. Wellllllllll their yelp kind of looks promising for wings .... we drove there and when we were pulling up my husband said, are you sure this is even open? there was no one in the parking lot. It was lunchtime and we walked in. It was super dirty. The menu board was sitting on the floor, with a whole bunch of duct tape over specific items. There was no one behind the counter ( we could hear someone in the back) and it smelled like hundred year old grease .... Buffalo tenders are amazing! Fries tasted like old grease, Mac was good but tasted like can cheese. Still tasty! Rolls had a taste of old grease as well. Chicken is worth coming back for, hands down one of the best! Trying other sides next time! read more

I may get off a plane early afternoon or hop out of a car after thinking the next exit ramp offerings may be better. Since I typically don't eat breakfast or have something light, my body screams for sustenance! That's when I typically make bad decisions. It was 2:15 p.m. and I was about to pick a mediocre, chain restaurant to get something in my belly, when I did one more search in the area. Yelp reviews for this small, local chicken joint were extremely positive and their wings sounded unique. I took a chance and was happy with my decision! Kelley's is a very small venue, so keep an eye out for the sign. Inside (as you'll notice from my picture) are seven small tables, seating no more than four seats per table. There were many more items on the menu than I originally thought, but my passion for wings made the decision easy. I ordered 10 whole wings honey hot and honey gold with an order of hot on the side. When I mentioned how far out of town I was, the cashier brought out the cook and she offered me one of the party wings dusted with Kelly's seasoning. I typically don't like dry rubs on fried wings, but this was quite tasty! Overall, I had a GREAT experience at Kelly's and loved my wings! The wait staff (possibly one of the owners?) were extremely friendly and accommodating. The only caveat, as I've already mentioned, is A) my passion for wings & B) I was extremely hungry. We're just in Memphis for two nights, heading for Little Rock. After a long day of sightseeing we wanted easy. I decided to try Kelly's. Where do I begin? Well, the girl taking drive through orders was hopefully in training because she did a poor job. My wife wanted the cheesesteak sandwich, fry, and Diet Coke and her sandwich was mediocre to say the best. I ordered the chicken salad. The name is Kelly's Kickin Chicken, right? Well, after all waiting almost 15 minutes I got the order and there were NO fries or Diet Coke. I checked the receipt and thankfully they didn't charge me for them. I got to our motel. And I wasn't surprised to see they did not include a fork for the salad. Luckily they had some by the motel breakfast room. Now, the chicken? Let me just say that I should have gone to the Popeyes across the street. I was wanting to try "local" so I went to Kelly's. Bad choice. Ordered fried chicken salad and shrimp basket with a side of seasoned fries and fried green tomatoes. Service was great, fast and helpful but the food was terrible. We picked it up and drive 2.5 miles to the campground. The fried chicken in the salad was a frozen chicken breast dry as it could be. Tasted like it was microwaved. The shrimp were cooked about three minutes too long and were inedible. The fried green tomatoes tasted like nothing, just flour. The fries were soggy and over cooked. Beware of this place. read more

I found this place by Google search so I decided to go check it out, I was a little upset at first because there was no parking and you had to call the order in from your phone because the speaker was broke. I'm glad that I decided to be patient and play along. A young lady that answered the phone was very very polite very sweet even offered me suggestions when I asked about dry rubs. The food was hot and fresh it was delicious. I ordered the deep-fried pickles with ranch and they were to die for. I also got the boneless chicken tenders Which were fantastic excellent cuts of chicken breast... I got the kicking hot dry rub per the young lady's suggestion and it was fantastic. This place is awesome! We stopped in while traveling through Memphis towards Birmingham, AL, needing something on the west side of the city. Between the four of us, we purchased chicken fingers, okra, fried mushrooms, and a chicken and waffle sandwich. The chicken fingers were freshly cooked and very large. The fried mushrooms, which the cook recommended, were amazing; thinly battered and fried to crispy perfection. The okra was also perfect! I cannot say enough nice things about the staff. They were extremely helpful and accommodating, checking in with us to see if we needed refills, even though it's a walk up to the counter kind of place and reminding us to keep some in the impending storm.
