She was sure to include encouraging words and light-hearted jokes to keep me at ease throughout the whole sometimes-confusing process, genuinely making me laugh out loud at some of the GIFs she sent me when I was feeling anxious. Something I really appreciated was her starting the relationship by asking what my style of communication was and how I preferred to be connected with; whether it was blunt and straight-forward or if I'd rather her sugar-coat things. She respected my request to just lay it all out on the table and was consistent with this type of communication through every step of the way. She and the people she recommended to partner with me all worked really hard to make sure my closing date fell on the date we had originally planned for (which happened to be my birthday!) as she knew how excited I was about it working out that way. When I met her to pick up my keys, she had put together a really great house-warming/birthday gift basket that was full of personalized home items that matched my design aesthetic I told her about way back on day one as well as gifts she picked out perfectly to match my other interests (I seriously don't know how she knew I was running out of lipstick and needed more). She really listened and bonded with me and helped ease some of the insecurities I had about my young age and being taken seriously during such a pivotal point in my life. Not only were we able to meet, tour, and secure a loan in, what must be, record time but she was also able to set it up so that my first mortgage payment falls exactly a month after my last rent payment. He did a phenomenal job with helping us specifically in the Tacoma area. We spoke to other realtors who seemed very knowledgeable about Seattle and Bellevue but had absolutely no clue about Tacoma area, and Tre did a spectacular job with looking specifically in Tacoma. He understood all of the different parts of town, where we would most likely find a house that fit our needs, and how to run comps and put in extremely competitive offers. He was also completely realistic with us about what we could and couldn't afford, and discouraged us from wasting time making offers on houses we were not likely to win. In a year where I heard endless horror stories about people submitting 10+ offers on houses and never winning one, we won our second offer and closed on the house less than two months after we started looking. We also won the house at appraised value, and WITH an inspection. So finding our house and putting in the offer went great, but Commencement Bay did just as outstanding of a job with closing. Because they're a team and not just an individual, they have a completely separate person who handles everything for closing, and Susan did a phenomenal job getting everything handled very quickly. She made the entire closing process super easy, and we closed in just 21 days with no issues or drama. If you forced me to find a single criticism, the only thing I would mention is that the ballpark estimates our realtor game for house repairs (replacing electrical panel, refinishing floors) were WAY off. The actual quotes we received were more than double. However, that tiny complaint which probably is the case with almost every single realtor aside, I can't say enough good things about Commencement Bay. At what is possibly one of the hardest times in history to purchase a house, they made it simple, easy, and as stress free as possible for us. If we ever need to buy or sell another home in the area, they will absolutely be my first call. Even since we closed, they've kept in touch to see if we need any help with anything. This review is specific to Carol Di Mundo, our Broker/Agent with Hawkins-Poe Real Estate Services…read more  We just closed on the sale of our home in Gig Harbor, WA on 1/13/2017.  She gets a definite 5 star rating for reasons described below.     Let me start by saying I was the last one interested in selling this house.  It was a personal fulfillment of a life long dream.  We chose the land.  We had a house designed for the property.  I personally built the house... all 5750 sqft.  I ultimately agreed to the sale as a concession to or in deference to my spouse inasmuch as she had decided she wanted out of Gig Harbor. As you may have gathered, this was raw and it is definitely personal!  My point is I was kind of a hostile customer to start with.  Keep that in mind as you read about my remarks about Carol.  We were originally represented by Coldwell Banker Bain by an agent/Broker I had worked with for 20 years and multiple transactions.  Our relationship and business were completely taken for granted.  It was my impression that we received nothing in terms of support or effort to get our house sold by them other than a 45 minute lecture (before I terminated the relationship) as to why their lack of a strategy and effort was the right solution.  So we switched to Carol.    Carol was amazing in so many ways.  She never stopped pouring her heart and energy into getting the property sold... and it took a long time.  She tolerated me and brought me along every step of the way.  She was always positive.  She was always thorough in her research and documentation.  She was relentless in creating new strategies and approaches to getting the word out and traffic in to see our place.  She held open houses and other events on an ongoing basis weekend after weekend.  She did targeted mailings to non-mainstream groups to market a concept. She got our home featured several times in periodicals getting it great visibility.  In short, she did everything humanly possible to get the visibility of our home as high as possible.  She was always open to new ideas.  She was always timely and prepared and NEVER, EVER gave up.   We went from almost 6000 sqft down to about 1000 sqft of living space. From a 6 car garage equivalent to a zero car garage (no garage).   Needless to say there was lots of furniture, artwork, appliances, tools and "history" to get rid of.  She was even a willing and capable resource in that regard.  I am sure I will edit this down over time, but the most important thing I liked about Carol was her humanity and grace in a very difficult transaction.  A consummate professional on all levels. A beautiful human being. I don't know how you beat that combination. Thanks Carol!
