As for the rest of us, who don't like to get down and dirty with our bikes and would prefer to spend more time riding our bikes than working on them, you might want to go to a real bike shop. Its okay for the occasional tube or bike light purchase but if you frequent the shop, you might be STRONGLY encouraged to buy a membership. I stopped visiting due to this a few years ago and I'm not the only one who would rather pay more elsewhere to avoid being harassed into a membership. If I have to pay a little more for the supplies, I'm okay with that, but I don't want to buy a membership to work on my bike if I'm never going to do so. I would rather pay a mechanic to work on my bike for me so I can spend that time doing things more important to me. Its also not a great place for high end or high quality items. They're mainly catering to the college/commuter crowd. But if you're looking for a deal! This is the place to go!

Top of the line place! Service can't be beat and prices are more than fair!…read more We came in to the area to do some riding at Kickapoo for the weekend but I panicked when I remembered that my sisters bike wasn't shifting and my dads bike sounded like it was having problems in the bottom bracket. Started calling around in Danville, worried we were going to be out the bikes for the weekend since it was such short notice for the repairs. Turns out I worried in vain! Keith told me he had any necessary parts in stock and he'd get us on the trail by the next day. I brought both bikes in late afternoon and had them back next morning! Keith replaced a shifter, changed out the broken bottom bracket, adjusted the derailluers, replaced a badly frayed brake cable, reset the disc brakes that were poorly installed on my dads bike and basically did everything possible to make sure we had a safe, fun weekend on the trails. And boy did we ever! Turns out these guys also help maintain and keep open the Kickapoo trails for us all to enjoy. Great job and a big pat on the back to all the KMBC people and THANK YOU!! Nirvana trail is AWESOME! Can't wait to come back next year! So go to Cycles Plus and support the great job they do and you'll leave knowing you've had your bike taken care of by people who are very good at what they do and care how they do it!

There were a bunch of people hanging out on the porch of a house and one guy ran up to me to see if I was okay. His name was Tim. He took my bike to his house and said he could fix it. He got my information down and said I could pick it up tomorrow. The next day I stopped by and he charged me only for the parts and sent me on my way. Since then, Tim has grown his business and moved into the beautiful new space that the community knows as Neutral Cycle. His business may have grown larger, but Tim has managed to keep the same level of care and personal service. From the friendly staff to the great prices, Neutral Cycle has affirmed its role in the Champaign-Urbana community as its premier bike shop. I am leaving for Chicago within 10 days, but I promised Tim I would buy a bike from him before leaving. Tim and his staff have helped me countless times with my previous bike (like that tire popping incident) and were very gracious to offer me great savings on a bike rental when my car was in the repair shop for over a month. Even if I were to disregard those personal experiences I've had with this shop, I would still choose to purchase from this shop because this is a fantastic locally owned business ran by a passionate, friendly, and knowledgeable staff, providing excellent service for an excellent price.
