Keigwins@theTrack or otherwise known as K@tt is a Bay Area motorcycle trackday organizer. They have the most available trackdays and the best staff. What the heck is a trackday organizer you ask? K@TT rents a race track and lets you ride on the track for a fee. K@TT also provides the track required insurance, ambulances, EMTs, and track staff to make your trackday fun and safe. Often times lunch is also provided. At all of these trackdays, the K@TT staff ride around ensuring your safety and often to give you pointers on improving your riding. K@TT also provides separate schools; one and two day schools designed specifically for learning. When signing up for a trackday, there are three groups to choose from delineated by speed and skill. You select the one you will be most comfortable in. It is highly recommended that you attend a school first, but it is not a requirement. I have attended many K@TT events, from novice schools to race schools to regular trackdays. Of the few trackday organizers and track schools in Northern California, I've been to most of them and K@TT is THE best. Lance, Linda, and Coco are the owners of Keigwins@theTrack. I first rode with Keigwins in 2017 and I loved it. Their group was very professional and friendly. They put on a smooth event every time. I have ridden with them since multiple times, including taking their 2 day school with ken hill. I learned so much, and i hope to return again soon. I have only been able to ride 2 days this year so far but they have maintained their professional and safe environment. Their instructors are top notch and friendly. They go above and beyond to help riders fix their bikes and get out on track. After five years away, I made it back to the track for another two-day novice school. I was thrilled with my experience yet again, just as I was in 2010. I tried another provider once and that experience paled dreadfully in comparison. I'm a Keigwin's fan for life now, including going to Laguna Seca next week and the Intermediate school at ThunderHill thereafter. If you're considering which provider to use, hands down my vote is Keigwin's. The coaches are very good, take a personal interest in you, and are the most valuable part of the whole program. I love the smell of a little gas burning in the mornings. Oh, engines coming to life. Violent song birds and your calls of tender rising. Fraaap! Fraaap! Oh, tire pressure. Oh, leather. Oh, temperature rising. You vanquish my ability to breath. Yeah, this'll be one of those solid, 5-star deals. Fantastic trackday provider with great customer service, great vendors, fantastic instructors, all that. Kev M basically says it all in his review, so yeah, read that. I had nothing but fun when I attended their 2-day novice school. We camped in the paddock and got to wake up to the sun coming up over the tarmac and rolling mounds of Thunder Hill. Holy smokes. As to what else can be added to this, if this is your first outing, and by that I mean a school, I might suggest not trying to learn a specific thing on the first session. Maybe grab an instructor and just circulate, get used to the new set of stimuli, because it is a new set of stimuli, and I think I would have done a little better if I didn't go right out and try to learn the brake markers. Fuck that noise. Just go out and enjoy yourself and get your nerves out (staying out of the racing line upon entry). Learn how to pick up the pace. During lunch, we sat and watched the instructors go "fp"ing by into turn 1. I don't know how fast. 140ish? They just literally made that sound: fp! Then they were gonesville. Not only do I highly suggest doing a trackday, but I highly suggest these guys. They're professional and friendly and they all know a TON, they're gentle as speeding bastards can be. The trackday is illuminating, like, fast on the street ain't shiiit. But yeah, these guys are amazing and really well-run. I've since done other trackdays with other providers, but I find I get the most out of their format and level of organization. Good stuff. What else. Go for a long-sleeve and full-leg Under Armor (even underwear). It really helps getting a sweaty leather suit off your stinking body. Seems like ALL tracks are super hot in the hot months. Good for traction, but during a 45-minute session (as they are for classes) the head gets to be a thunderin' a bit. Oh, and try and get a 2-up ride with one of the instructors if you can. Bring an extra pair of underroos and some baby wipes. And I mean that in all the best of ways. read more

with a handful of trackdays with a few trackday organizers under my belt, i can say the folks at keigwins@the track do a great job. ive made easter sunday at thunderhill with K@TT a tradition three years in the making now and i can tell you i am just as excited, happy, thrilled and completely satisfied with my experience with them. as a newbie, i was happy they helped me stay safe. as a semi newbie, i was happy they provided a safe environment for me to hone my skills. as a semi graduated newbie making passes on turn 2, 3, 6, 7, 8 i am thrilled that K@TT still holds arguably the best trackdays in northern california. if you never have been. go. if you go. go with K@TT. read more

i was astounded by and marveled at the keigwins' customer service skillz. i am impressed that their e-mail replies always have seemed so personal, that they take the time to give a thoughtful reply even though i am sure they are super busy. it's as if they care about our well-being and satisfaction -- very nice. i also had scheduled a second class once, but backed out for some reason, and although i expected merely a credit, lance was kind enough to just refund the payment altogether. the track experience was awesome, albeit a little rushed. i went with my 2001 250 ninja at thunderhill in 2003(?). there were an alternating series of class lecture time on a particular skill to practice, followed by the actual on-hands (on-the-track) application of that skill. the participants were divided into two classes, an A class (faster) and the B class (slower). i was in the B class (although i should probably have been in some sort of C class :/ i would recommend that if you are sensitive to the heat, you may want to try signing up for a class during the cooler months -- so earlier or later in the season, if possible. i was in a 2-piece zipped up leathers, and as i am super-sensitive to heat, i was dying and couldn't concentrate properly. i believe i went in the late spring/early summer at thunderhill. the instructors that i interacted with were all very attentive, knowledgeable, and patient. i would suggest going with at least one friend who can help be your 'pit crew' to tend to your bike so you can concentrate on learning and applying material instead of bike maintenance. someone you trust and who has some experience with the auto/moto world. at least the first time that you go to a class. note that as in many other situations, there will be people there with egos who frown upon/are condescending towards 'slower' students (like me) and you may hear them rag on you. but for each of those, there will most likely be other students who will encourage you and to ignore the meanies. if you get the chance, do a ride with one of the instructors -- it is an experience not to miss ! it more than blew my mind going god-knows-how-fast around the track with one of the instructors (can't recall his name at the moment) on his sv. i was clinging on for dear life !! afterwards, he said he almost couldn't breathe because i was clinging on too tightly :p if you can avoid it, might not want to ride to/from there. i did, and i was exhausted on the ride back (since the class was a one-day class). i did ride out the night before though, and stayed at a motel nearby overnight. the cost of the novice school day was fairly competitive to the others offered by other companies. read more

It is not often that you can rate an outfit 5 stars with no hesitation. I don't know how Lance and Linda Keigwin manage to run such a high class act every year, one after the other. Obviously they have the the skills to do it and a ton of patience. Besides running a top notch track day as explained in the other reviews, they have a more than fair policy regarding cancellations and changes. They may lose some money on it but they gain the loyalty of customers who know they're covered if something comes up. Basically, if you cancel 2 weeks ahead, they will refund and not even charge any fee at all. You get back 100%. If you cancel less than 2 weeks ahead, you can still recoup your fee if you can find someone to buy it from you. The best place for that is of course BARF. If it's a sold out day, you'll be able to get 90% of your money back, if you discount your ticket a bit, you may get some bites for a bit more of a discount. The people he has providing services are also incredible as described already in other reviews but Dave Moss deserves a special mention. He will setup your bike's suspension so that it works best for the particular track you're at and the particular conditions for that day (weather, different brand tires than you usually use, etc) Another area they cover well is safety. The instructors are out on track every session, usually at least a couple, watching for anything that might need attention to make sure the safety factor is high. This includes squids who are riding weird lines, debris, etc. If you do go down, one of them will be there within 1 minute or less to help you out. Lance and Linda have chosen some great instructors. I've worked with several of them at two of their 2-day schools and can say they know how to help you work on the areas you need work on the most. And face it, us novices need help just to recognize what those areas are. I've done 2 seasons now with Keigwins and with other track day providers and there is no comparison and I would bet all the providers know Keigwins comes out on top. read more

Impressive organization. The best track day provider I have ridden with to date (compared to four others). Their course control team are focused and run a tight schedule. Plenty of control riders on track keeping an eye on things. Keigwins seems to attract a pretty high level of rider. Being passed or passing, their moves and lines were consistent and predictable. K@TT is the premier motorcycle trackday organizer in California. Safety is a big priority for this organization and it feels good knowing the place is well prepared in the event of a mishap. They also hold a number amount services: suspension set-up, tire changes, sale of motorcycle equipment and other items to help make your trackday experience enjoyable, and most importantly, safe. Outstanding company and services. I'm not sure about the allowing inside passing in the beginner group, but it doesn't appear to be a problem for the majority. I had a collision with another ride because he attempted to make an inside pass and didn't know what he was doing. Damaged my bike a good bit :( read more
