Beef on Weck and a side salad
    Ron V.

I was here last night for the first time. I seen a post on a food site, talking about keg cowboy having Beef on Weck. I had no idea what that was. I've been wanting to try it. Our lunch group has ventured over to Lexington two times only to find it's not open at lunchtime. They open at 3 PM. I called last week and was told that they serves Beef on Weck only on Fridays. We arrived around 5 o'clock and ordered a velvet yeti beer (a dark IPA )which was excellent. My neighbor and I both ordered the beef on Weck sandwich with extra horseradish. It comes with a side of either a salad, cup of soup or grits. We both opted for the side salad. The sandwich is filled with a lot of beef and came with small containers of raw horseradish, and a creamy horseradish and au jus on the side. We both ordered extra raw horseradish. The Kummelweck bun was really good with just the right amount of salt in Carraway on the top of it. I wish they served the au jus in a larger cup, so you could dip the sandwich on each bite. I would like to go back, but it's tough to get to Lexington on a Friday night. I really wish they served this every day and were open at lunchtime. I will get back for another one sometime in the future. It's definitely worth going there for.

Duck Confit SOS - so good!!!

Great dive bar with beer & wine and incredible food! I got the SOS Duck Confit on fresh homemade bread with a thyme cream sauce. It was off the charts delicious!

Menu from 11/6/21. Please keep in mind this menu changes CONSTANTLY. This is not a permanent menu for the restaurant.

Some friends and I stopped in last night and let me just say, we were NOT disappointed one bit! We had Alejandro as our server and he was wonderful, attentive, and really kind. He made sure our checks were correct before bringing them out to us, which was a nice extra measure, honestly! We came into Keg Cowboy ready to EAAAT, we were all starving! We started out with a cheeseboard, pretzel, and bread and EVOO, and we were the happiest campers almost immediately! The bread is fresh fresh fresh, made in house, and baked perfectly. The appetizer presentation was very nice, but it tasted even better. We all ordered a sandwich and some of the tomato soup and we were all very happy with our choices! I got the Caprese Sammy and that fresh mozzarella was a game changer! This sammy was PERFECT for dipping in the tomato soup, which was a side dish, but it deserves its own show! It is available as an entre, as well, and I regretted not ordering the full bowl of soup to go with my Sammy. They have a pretty solid craft beer list that seems to be changed pretty often to keep a good rotation of different beers. Prices for food and drinks were more than fair, I feel like I absolutely got my moneys worth. I will definitely be back to Keg Cowboy in the near future!

We love going to the Keg Cowboy! This restaurant always has different types of beer (and you can try them before you get something you don't want). The food is prepared fresh on site and we have never been disappointed in the quality, service, or the amount. The atmosphere is laid back. There are board games available if a couple or group wants to play. The Keg Cowboy gives you something I call Value or getting your monies worth for the food and service. Stop in and give these wonderful people your business.

Duck Confit with a creamy thyme sauce, topped with a fried egg... So delish!

Love, love, love this place! The food was very good, the service was outstanding and their beer (particularly the amber) really hit the spot! There is a very good, easy going vibe about this brewery that makes them unique and likable. My husband and I came here with our son last month for an early supper and all three of us enjoyed ourselves. We weren't in a hurry, so we figured we would stop in and see what all the fuss was about this place. After we sat ourselves, our server, J.J. was absolutely wonderful! She was very helpful and knowledgeable about the beer and eclectic food menu. They have a variety of board games to play with and it adds to the laid back, family fun, hipster vibe of the place! We all played Jenga while we waited on our food and before you knew it, it was ready! As we left, we just knew we were coming back one day.

A cook sat at the bar and joked loudly about a "fat woman in the Wal-Mart checkout line that he thought was pregnant" with his friend.

Now mind you there were a lot of empty tables with "reserved" on them at that point. Fast forward an hour later, because we didn't get a txt from them, we went in to see what the story was. They proceeded to tell us it would be another 30 minutes. Also the seats that had "reserved" on them were still empty! They said they would take care of us, and walked us over to the bar side, and told us we would have to stand at the counter to eat! I was fuming. The other three from my party walked out, while i proceeded to tell the manager this was extremely poor service! All he could say was they were busy. I pointed out the empty tables that were empty when we first walked in an hour ago and are still empty! They finally gave us one of those tables. We were out in an hour and guess what ...... there were still empty tables with "reserved" on them! Would NOT recommend this place to anyone! My suggestion is to go someplace else!! Like I said, our waitress was extremely nice and couldn't apologize enough.

Fourteen Mile Tap House has revamped the inside of the building and has made it a lot more open with some extra TVs. They extended the inside bar and expanded the seating area. They've got a pretty solid selection of beers, but I would have liked to see more sours and ciders, personally. They don't have a huge selection of bottled/canned beers, but between the draft selection, cans/bottles, domestics, wines, and even some frozen drinks, you're sure to find something you'll like! The pina colada was pretty decent. It is pre mixed, so it's not a hand crafted cocktail, but I was not mad at it one bit. The food menu wasn't too bad, but I think it could use some improving. The pretzels are not made in house and leave a lot to be desired. We got the Brie and mango chutney, which was good, but we definitely expected the Brie to be baked or broiled or warmed in some capacity, but it wasn't. The menu doesn't suggest it will be warm, we just assumed it would be. It wasn't bad by any means, but it was a little difficult to spread on thin crackers, so it got really messy. Nachos my friends got looked fine, but not overly impressive by any means. It's definitely bar food, not a fancy restaurant. Overall, we had a good experience. The prices were fair, the service was great, the establishment was clean, and there is a good variety of drinks to cater to damn near everyone. I will most certainly return to Fourteen Mile Tap House with some hope of the quality of the food improving.
