Wanted a Christmas present for my mother last year and decided I would have all her DVDR's converted to digital. Had about 38 some double sided. Dropped the box off maybe 10th of December and had it all back before the 20th I believe. Fast turn around. Great quality. The flash drive USB side did not work for us on the computer or TV, but the USBC side did. I think their prices are fair, especially if you want to go local instead of shipping your materials to get converted out of city/state. I used legacy box for VHS and I honestly prefer the quicker and easier process of dropping these off and picking them up. KEEPSAKE does an amazing job with film transfer. They transferred hundreds of feet of Super 8 film to digital files for a documentary I'm creating and the files look great! As happens in your 30s, my husband and I have started receiving boxes of our childhood photos from our family. I had a Groupon to get two 2-hour transfers done. They did exactly what they said they would, within the two weeks they promised to complete the work, which was sufficient for my needs. They did a direct transfer of each of the tapes I gave them to both a DVD and MP4 files. By direct transfer, I mean that they did no editing, added no transitions, provided no music, did nothing to improve the quality of the picture from the tape. The DVDs have chapter markers at regular intervals, having nothing to do with the breaks between recording sessions on each of the camcorder tapes. There was about 45 seconds of black at the beginning of one of the tapes and the DVD faithfully preserves that 45 seconds of dead air. They provided attractive labels for the DVDs and the cases had nicely printed covers. They would likely be able and willing to provide some or all of the extras I mentioned, but not for the bargain-basement price I paid. I was surprised that they made no attempt to suggest any of these extra services. Depending on the pricing, I may well have considered adding some of them. My intent is to eventually edit the MP4 files and burn the result to my own DVDs at some point in the future. Meanwhile, I have two nicely packaged DVDs that I can watch, and a set of MP4 files that I can watch on my PC without needing the DVDs. I will definitely use them again for converting other tapes. read more
