Shady. They changed the price for a trade in three times. I would not buy a car there.

Highly recommend! Friendly, professional, and reasonable…read more One of my brake rotors went out the day before I needed to leave for an internship on the other side of the state. They got me in right away and had it fixed that same day! Totally saved me a lot of trouble! As a young female, I am always nervous about taking my car in for repairs because I feel like I have a target on my back to be screwed over by auto repair people- completely not the case here. They fixed exactly what was wrong with my car at a reasonable price and didn't try to sell me anything extra. Not to mention that the staff, from the receptionist to the mechanics, were incredibly warm and friendly. I would definitely take my car to Bob's again.

Said he'd pay for the tow if I surrendered it. Many ugly emails and I did. I didn't get home and I was getting hate mail to bring them the title. It was probably time for a new car. $5-10k for a new engine. No reimbursement for the money I stuck into it. It remained there and is now a rental for those who use the mechanic. I got scammed. I was told to bring it here because he was friends with my ex's dad. Fucked over BIG TIME! And I was stuck with a used car, new payment when I didn't need it. Buyer beware. He's a scammer! Experience-negatives if it would give me negative stars.

Within 30 minutes I was informed that my car and needed some repairs. For contrast: I had taken it to Pischke Nissan in La Crosse, WI trying to get a diagnostic on this a week prior, who failed to identify these glaring problems. The car was unsafe to drive, but Don's Auto and Truck Center (and Bud!) were incredible in solving my problems. After some negotiation with my insurance, I was able to use a loaner vehicle while mine was undergoing said repairs! I drive this vehicle for work, so being given a loaner for the three weeks I had to wait for work to begin and get finished was just the best thing I could have asked for! Even better, I did not have to pay the Pischke Dealership rate! Bud and the staff there at Don's Auto really are the best in the area, if you ask me! --Z

I purchased a 2014 Toyota Rav4 Limited from DAHL Hyundai Mazda Subaru in Lacrosse Wisconsin in May…read more2025. It had around 113,600 miles at the time and although it had just arrived on the lot, an inspection was done and no issues were found. After buying the vehicle, I took it back to DAHL when it was time for an oil change as I was given a few free changes. The vehicle now has around 122,000 miles. At the beginning of 2026 the Rav began misfiring and stalling (even turning off while driving) in addition to a loud engine noise especially when starting. I brought it to DAHL service and was told I was going to need the timing chain and/or engine replaced which would cost $6000-$8000. I also was given the option of trade in but the value offered for the vehicle was only going to be $4500. I still have just under $5000 to pay on my loan and already have paid $15k+ on the vehicle. Deciding a second opinion would be best, I had my vehicle towed to a smaller repair shop in Lacrosse. Without even a deep inspection the immediately affirmed I had correctly concluded the need to replace the entire engine and timing chain was not necessary (especially at such low mileage for a Toyota). Based off their diagnostics, including the code readings, they replaced the solenoids and cam gear. The vehicle was running well but after only a few days once again, started misfiring and stalling. I had to get jumped to even get it back to the shop which is only a few miles away. The shop again did the code readings and also tested the oil pressure and it was very off, so it was deemed best to do a change. When accessing the oil components, they found the center post that goes through the filter was missing. This means that DAHL who changed my oil previously, left the post in the filter housing which caused all the issues. After putting in the new cup the pressure was back to normal and the vehicle ran perfectly, again proving the missing post in the housing was the overall problem. Since having the Rav returned to me, I have not had any further issues. All in all, the work done (replacing solenoids, cam gear, oil filter/cup and oil change) cost me about a $1000. All due to DAHL messing up a simple oil change! I have all the paperwork, the actual filter showing the missing center post, and word of testament from the smaller shop. Besides messing the oil change up by misplacing the center post of the filter, DAHL also lost my coolant reservoir cap! I was told I "needed a new one" when I had my vehicle looked at but the thing is, it was there when I bought the vehicle and no one but DAHL has done maintenance on the Rav so again, they misplaced a simple component! I will never recommend DAHL service to anyone nor will I return there. Quite frankly, I should be compensated because there was no reason I had to spend all this money and go through all this trouble! Although I enjoyed my initial experience when I purchased the vehicle, my dealings with DAHL are most definitely going to be continually impacted by this extremely negative and costly service ordeal.

UPDATE - The management contacted me an hour later and helped resolve the issues…read more I have attempted to contact their support twice and have not received so much as a response - after giving them over six weeks to contact me, I am leaving a negative review of the situation. I emailed the email listed on their website on May 22nd after reviewing my receipt from an oil change which I was charged $220 for. I asked them to please call or email me. After waiting two weeks, I followed up on the email asking them to contact me about my concern and refund my charges. I received an automatic reply from Nick saying he would be checking his email once daily. It has since the second email been four weeks and I have still heard nothing by phone or email. I have given them ample opportunity to resolve the issue so at this point, I'm resorting to reviews. I spent over $1,200 with them just last year getting my other car fixed, so being a returning customer, I am absolutely shocked of this treatment and will not be returning. I called the shop l saying that my check engine light was on, and also that I wanted to them to look at my brake pads - it was a new car for me and they felt a little lose when I drove the car. I also wanted to schedule an oil change. I told during this call that the brake pad inspection is a part of a multiple-point inspection which is free of charge. Upon dropping off my car, both the tech and the receptionist confirmed that my concerns were 1. Check engine light was on and 2. Checking my brakes. I confirmed that was correct. I was once again told the brake check would be free of charge. When I received the call to pick up my car, I was informed that my check engine light was not on, but that my tire pressure light was on, and that those are the same color so I could have easily confused them . I said "Yes, I must have confused the tire pressure light with the check engine light." I was later told that they still ran the scan on my car despite no check engine light being on, found no codes, and then - still charged me for plugging the car into their check engine light scanner (mind you it takes them a couple of minutes to run a check engine light scan and does not cost anything in materials as they already have the scanner - this is something many service centers ). Upon reviewing the receipt later, the service provider wrote on my receipt: "No check engine light" and "TPMS light on.", and yet I was still charged $120 for this service. While I realize this is what I originally requested, I had already confirmed that it was a mistake, and would expect that an auto shop with the long time experience in the community like Dahl would refrain from running a costly diagnostic after the technician realized the check engine light was not on. Second, I was charged $47.31 for a brake inspection - the tech quickly looked at the brakes and noted the brakes were fine. I was told on the phone during my initial call this would be a part of the multi-point inspection that is offered as part of the oil change service. I was a little shocked to hear the $220 price tag for having an oil change and have my tire pressure light checked, but I paid it and thought I would reivew the receipt later to see exactly what I was being charged for. This would have been an excellent opportunity for the team to exhibit strong customer service skills and use a common intuition. Instead, I was billed $120 for an unnecessary service. I was disappointed further by the $47 brake inspection service, which I was told is a standard part of any multi point inspection as part of an oil change. I don't like to leave one-star reviews, but after two attempts at contacting to resolve the situation I see no alternatives.
