While I was eating there was a food tour close by and they were all trying the meatloaf sandwich because it's one of the more popular items among the locals. So naturally I ordered one as well. Meatloaf was juicy and delicious. Pastrami for me was just ok. It was a hearty sandwich but personally I prefer a thicker cut of pastrami.

After dining here a couple of times during my time in Prague and really loving how authentic and delicious everything is here, my friend and I decided to venture back to try their galbi, a typical Korean dish that is basically marinated beef. Boy, this was such a bad decision. First of all, if you order anything that requires a grill, they make you order two portions (I'm assuming because it's a hassle to get the grill out and heated). Our two portions were ridiculously small, and each portion was about 290 kc which is absurd. Each portion had maybe three pieces of meat? Which is so unreasonable. Secondly, the meat was really weird. I've grilled galbi numerous times before, as had the friend who was with me, and we've never seen raw galbi like this. The texture was very grainy and the meat was basically all bones... barely any meat. It ended up tasting okay, but that's definitely what galbi is supposed to taste like. The third annoying aspect was that the waiter was being absurdly condescending to us because we weren't Korean. Which is just about the stupidest thing that I've ever experienced in a restaurant. I've experienced racism abroad, that's nothing new. But racism in a restaurant? That's just rude especially because we're paying so much to eat there. The waiter just kept giving my friend and I crap for not being Korean since we asked whether or not it was really two portions because it was one plate with barely any meat and we weren't sure how long we were supposed to grill it.. We also ordered the za jiang mian (not sure of the Korean spelling) which was absurdly overpriced but not bad actually. Too much sauce for my liking, but a good portion to share with a friend also, every single time I've come back, the side dishes get worse. Don't have high hopes for that. tldr; the other normal food and safer choices (bibimbap, udon, etc) are great options. I think some of the other authentic dishes might have been okay, but stay away from the galbi which is absurdly priced and not authentic at all.

Cucumber salad side dish seems so simple but perfectly executed. I guess it's how thinly they sliced the cucumber and the freshness of the cream. I love that they had a children's menu- we have eaten and many fine dining spots across Prague and this was the first we got a kids menu. The kids menu has Shnitzel with mashed potatoes and my kids absolutely scarfed it down. Also a generous portion, the chicken shnitzel was crispy and moist. The porcini souffle with mushroom stuffed gnocchi was a great vegetarian dish. Last but not least, we ordered 5 desserts to share and all were top notch. The foie gras was seared to perfection and served with some blood sausage, peas, and mushrooms. Excellent. Moved on to the wild duck breast wrapped in a pork sausage and it was tasty. As wild duck is gamier and leaner than farmed duck, the duck was cooked to a perfect medium rare and served inside a pork sausage. Presentation and portions were amazing. Opted for a side of broccoli and it was tasty! Staff throughout the meal were cordial.

I got the mascara-done caramel banana pancake, which the server told us was a popular item. My husband got the salmon with cream cheese, and he said that was amazing. So unlike other places that usually stack pancakes and then put the topping at the top, this each layer has the filling, so each layer of the salmon pancake has cream cheese and salmon. The pancakes were very good and also seemed very healthy as far as pancakes go - everything was perfectly balanced. The halloumi and avocado as well as the hummus were layered in the stack so every bite had something in it. The karak latte was also very good with a smooth flavour. I appreciated that they could make it with alternative milk since most places I've been to that serve this will only do it with dairy. Would absolutely recommend for a fun, relaxed breakfast or lunch.

Service was patient while we ordered and food was delivered pretty quickly. My husband got a burrito, which he did not finish (never a good sign). I got a bacon quesadilla, which seemed like a fairly safe option. It was OK. The bacon was really fatty. But it was hot, filled with cheese and made me not starving. So check. I DO think that if I had been out partying at a bar and needed something to scarf down at like 2 in the morning, Burrito Loco would be PERFECT. The price points are a little higher than what I can find in L.A. for the same quality of food but I get it; Old Town Prague is very touristy and it shows on the menu.
