Wonderful family business. We received great service from the owner, John Kearny. His men came promptly and worked very hard all day. Some of his employees have been with Kearny Movers for 15 plus years. All professional, and all willing to do extra, so that we were really satisfied with their workmanship and safety measures. I appreciated the care for my breakables, and the assistance in moving heavy mirrors. I'm glad this company was referred to us, and felt it was important to put the word out there for Kearny Movers. Kearney Moving was amazing from the first phone call to the final walk through. John was wonderful and came over to make sure we had everything in order. I called them the day of pack up to let them know the pod was already there. They were there within 30 minutes. The moving team was amazing led by Kevin. My wife and I hired this company for a short distance move (90 miles). We requested pack, load, deliver and unpack as we are both 100% disabled. On moving day they advise they don't unpack. That is just to "unpack the truck ". Items appear to be missing, house is still full of boxes and we have yet to find things. I will be reviewing this report next week after I finish having things unpacked. I just got off the phone with the VP and he assured me he will do anything he can to try and resolve our issues. read more

They had some fairly difficult pieces of furniture to disassemble then re-assemble and did a great job. They were exceptionally polite, courteous and friendly. Horrible !! This was a horrible experience ! When they moved me out of my house, they left black scuff marks all over my white ceramic tile. I had to scrub the marks off the floor with soft scrub. They also chipped a corner of one of the walls that I had to fill with spackle and paint before the walk through the next day. When I moved into my new house, every piece of my furniture was either nicked or scratched or had dirt scuff marks and was covered in a layer of soil. I have white furniture and every piece had to be cleaned and then sanded and painted. I even had many pieces covered in plastic so as not to have damage...but that didn't matter, every piece was filthy. This is unacceptable. I complained to the owner who told me it was because I had white painted furniture, which doesn't make sense. If I had wood tone furniture, it wouldn't have gotten nicked and scratched? Seriously? I got one excuse after another.. he also said it was because my furniture had to be stored for 3 weeks. Is that an excuse to not be careful? Is that an excuse to have my furniture damaged? If you don't want your furniture damaged, don't hire this company. I am sorry I did. I made the wrong choice. read more

I had a great experience with Kearney for my long distance move recently. Leading up to my move they were very responsive in answering my questions and handling last minute additions to my inventory list. I didn't want to do an in-person inventory in order to get a quote, so was glad they were willing to estimate based on an inventory list. They were also pretty flexible on timing which wasn't necessary but still made me feel comfortable that I wasn't locked into specific dates with deposits and whatnot. I called a few places including DIY options like UMove and PODS. The quote I got for Kearney was really close to PODS and included full service, it was also much lower than quotes I received from other full-service moving companies. Perhaps the quote was lower than other movers because my shipment was to be included on an 18-wheeler with other shipments which was fine with me as long as nothing got lost or broken (which it didn't). My dad actually handled the pickup for me, so I'm not sure how the movers were, but he didn't have anything negative to say (he would have told me, trust me). My stuff was delivered well w/in the estimated window and the guys doing the unloading were great. Fast, professional, and careful. All of my furniture was wrapped really well and nothing was damaged in the process. My only negative would be that I needed to call the driver to check when he was doing the pick up since we still hadn't heard anything the day before the furniture was to be picked up. He said he'd be there the next day which was fine since we'd planned to be available, I was just expecting there to be more communication closer to the move date. All in all it was a great experience. read more

I chose Kearny, after a very pleasant meeting and estimate from the owner I specifically needed help with packing, which I arranged from the beginning. The first morning of packing, the owner actually showed up to assess. The packers kept asking what goes, everything, everything, everything. Three people packing, first thing less than 30 minutes in, a broken antique. A figurine call a " piano baby". No apology, no how can we replace, nothing just a whoops! Still no offer to find a replacement. Everything was packed, for sure, then delivered to new home in another city I wanted to speak with owner before making final payment. He wasn't very nice, he seemed too bothered to listen to me. My complaint, the boxes were so poorly marked, the movers couldn't determine where boxes needed to be. I had to open some boxes just to know what was inside. I was trying to tell him this and he said fine he would discuss with the packers. All he wanted was the payment. Apparently the mystery goes on.... today I was unpacking a box marked "wut knots" searching for a certain item. I felt sure would be in the box. Nope!! But did find more broken items, crystal figurines cracked but still no mermaid. Oh and two rolls of scotch tape were carefully wrapped and in this box. Still looking for more items, I have unpacked all of the boxes they furnished but items are missing. Apparently, mixed into "garage boxes" and hopefully, I will find eventually. Can't say how disappointed I have been, it has taken me so long to unpack a room, items all mixed together from another room, etc. It has been like a scavenger hunt. I would not recommend this company, unless you pack your own boxes. The did fine on the packing and unpacking their truck but certainly not for organization or packing. read more

I called from Connecticut to get help prior to flying to Venice, FL to help move my mom. Mr. Kearney was very helpful on the phone and he was able to give me an approximate quote on cost....seemed good to me, so I booked a date and a window of time for them to come. When I got to FL I was nervous about the move and called just to make sure they were coming. YUP they said "we will be there" and sure enough they came with a big truck and two movers. The guys were really nice and worked fast. When all was said and done I asked how much so I could write out the check. I was fully expecting the higher end of the estimate given by phone, but to my surprise it was the lower end. This just could not get any better! Thanks Kearney Moving!!!!! read more

Our move from Venice to Maine had its good and not so good experiences. The National Van Line (NVL) driver communicated well along the way. The Venice, FL agent (Kearney) was super out of the gate and then lost its luster after the sale. The young gentleman taking calls and inquires at Kearney's home office needs to take customer service training - found him to be less than welcoming, making you feel like "you" need to treat "him" with TLC.....not the other way around. Kearney, nor NVL, ever explained they had little or no relations with movers or moving contractors in Maine. Nor did they explain it was their contracted driver's responsibility to do so. I ended up assisting the driver with securing assistance to unload our property in Maine - NOT GOOD! Aside from these lacking, important "A" Team attributes, the packing and delivery experience went well - much thanks to the driver for that though. Certainly, some improvements BOTH NVL and their agent (Kearney) can focus on. read more

I recommend Kearney Moving and Storage without reservation. This company is a class act. We contacted them not knowing our actual move date because our closing date was not firm. They worked with us and were flexible. Our closing was horrific and the move date was indefinite until the night before. They juggled a lot and kept our furniture over night and delivered it when we needed them to. The three guys who delivered our furniture were polite and efficient and quick. OMG ! Run fast away !! Where do I begin.......the fact they were 2 1/2 hrs. Late or when they did arrive they all ran in the bathrooms, Not one asked for permission !!! Items missing, wet furniture, moved in the rain, nothing covered. The guys would stop working and I would have to go find them and when I did they were wandering around my house!!!! Asked them what r u doing? they said just looking around !!!!!!! R u kidding me !!!!!!!!!! Owner said he would b at move to supervise,ha! Never saw him. We chose to go with Kearney Moving and Storage because of some recommendations and the fact that they were locally owned and family-run. The men in the office were fabulous and very accommodating. However, on the day of the move, the 2 men they sent were rude, careless, and inconsiderate. (A third man showed up half way through the move, and he was better) After chipping both our front door and multiple spots on the walls in our new home, as we started to rearrange furniture, we noticed more scrapes and gouges in our furniture. They may have some better crews, but the crew they sent us was NOT one that we would recommend. read more

This company had my things stored in a rat infested warehouse! Sold me a just about worthless replacement policy AND never gave me a copy of said policy. My things were received in deplorable condition. Rats had cbewed my overstuffed chairs etc, chewed through boxes, nested in the bottoms of furniture AND pissed and defecated all over just about everything we owned!
