Tri Lece TRIED ME…read more I hired them to move the furniture in my apartment from one floor to the other. I sent a text with the items that needed to be moved and put together. Imagine my surprise when the 2 movers showed up with ONE HAND TRUCK and NO TOOLS. Oh and did I mention, my job was supposed to start at 10 AM and due to the truck breaking down, they got there around 2:30 PM - with one hand truck with no tools. Oh this is the way they milk hours was my immediate thought. I'm sure they didn't expect me to provide not 1 but 2 flatbeds, and this sista had her own tool box - yup sure did. In the end I only had to pay for 1 extra hour. To top it off they assembled my kitchen table incorrectly, of course I didn't realize it until after they were gone. I texted the owner about the hand truck, lack of tools, and the table mishap, but I received no response. Needless to say I will NEVER Tri Lece again.

They even got into a verbal argument in the street. We were never informed of any staffing issue ahead of time, and when we reached out by phone, text, and email to ask for help or a solution, we got no response. My daughter and her roommate ended up having to carry heavy furniture up to a third-floor apartment--the very thing we hired professionals to avoid. She had just worked a night shift as a nurse and should not have had to assist. Had they not helped, the move would have taken longer, and I suspect we would've been charged extra. I paid for two movers. I only got one. The company refused to offer any refund or reasonable solution. This was an incredibly unprofessional and disappointing experience.

Bottom line up front: this company is run by swindlers. Do not let them in your home…read more The crew showed up on time, and that's where the good vibes stopped. The "boss" told me that any item over 250 lbs would be an additional $100.00. Of course, I was surprised since the "No hidden fees!" is what drew me to the company in the first place, a promise that was reiterated to me by the young lady that arranged the appointment. It was no surprise that I could not reach the young lady who reiterated that promise to me after being hit with a "hidden fee". Here I am on move day (both the old and new landlords are expecting movement) staring into the eyes of a swindler. What choice did I have but to have them move what they could. To add insult to injury, the crew started pointing at multiple items that were "overweight" and seemed put off when I told them to leave them. One of the items was hide-a-bed couch, which one would think is heavy but right after they said "Oh THIS is overweight", I picked it up myself, set it down, and told them that my wife and I moved it where it was with no issues. Another item was a regular dresser, which I weighed later on... it came in at a whopping 117 pounds. Now they did move the majority of the items in the house (aside from the heavier stuff), but decided at a random time that they were done loading the truck. The house wasn't empty, and there was plenty of room in the truck... but I guess they were just done. They emptied the truck into the new house and the boss came to the settling table for payment. It was here that he told me that the extra money "pumps up" the movers, and he understands why we might feel like we were lied to. The irony was tangible... we WERE lied to! Unless "no hidden fees" isn't English and has some outlandish alternate translation... charging us fees after claiming that you won't is lying! I had to call on some friends to help load the heavy items the next day into a truck that I rented myself. Bottom line: don't let these people in your home; they are swindlers.

Although I was a bit suspicious when 2 movers showed up instead of the 4 I was expecting, things…read moreseemed to be going well so I let it go. I spoke with the woman who I'd been making the arrangements with and I understood that she seemed to have made a mistake in quoting me the 2-man price for 4 workers. I can understand 1 mistake - everyone makes them. I was even good-natured about Dave's constant complaints about his health and his comments regarding the heaviness of my furniture, even though it made me wonder why he was a professional mover... The move itself went much longer than they expected (I suspect since there were half as many movers as I'd expected - see previous paragraph) and Dave graciously stopped charging me after it was obvious the move was going to take all day and then some. I tipped Dave and his cohort as they were leaving (in a hurry, although I assumed it was due to the late hour) and as I walked back up my driveway, I spotted a huge shard of mirror tossed to the side into the leaves. I ran out to flag them down before they drove away and they denied breaking anything. Once back inside, I took stock of all of my mirrors and sure enough, a long wooden-framed one was completely missing. I also discovered the base of my Maitland-Smith end table was completely broken off. Again, I understand that accidents happen and they committed to making things right by repairing the (now-admittedly broken) mirror and table. I had to bring the table to their office and they had the mirror frame, which had been left on the truck (so much for them saying they didn't know where the shard came from...). For 3 months they evaded my emails and phone calls requesting information on the status of the repairs. During the last week of February, they completely stopped communicating with me and I filed a complaint with the WV Atty. General's Office. In late March I came across a FaceBook ad for Dave's new indoor flea market. My table was in one of the photos. After escalating matters by calling the police, I finally got my mirror and table back and I was extremely glad to have them. It's unbelievable that the table was professionally repaired as the wood crosspiece was glued crookedly and there were blue magic marker marks in various places that were not there before. I suspect the table was scuffed and they attempted to "fix" it. In addition to my damaged table and mirror, I discovered they'd left a valuable antique headboard outside at my old address. When I brought it to Dave's attention, his office said they'd deliver it when they brought back my repaired items. Since I had to go back to Dave's office to pick up my mirror and table, I asked him when he planned to deliver my headboard and he told me that he no longer has any trucks or employees. When I reminded him that I paid him to perform a service for me, he said, "I don't know what to tell you honey." You may ask, "Why don't you just go pick it up yourself?" Well, I can't fit it in my car and I have a bad back (thus the reason for professional movers), which means I'd need to rent a van and I don't think I should have to pay to have it moved since I've already done that. If Dave had any sense at all, he'd rent a van, get my headboard to me and be done with it. I requested his insurance company info. and he will not respond to my request (I suspect he doesn't actually have insurance). So to sum up, I paid a lot of money to have my belongings professionally moved and I ended up with a damaged table, a missing headboard, a lot of lost time and a big headache. You decide if it's worth it for you to hire these guys but never in a million years again for me.
