We went to the show, and put our name into a couple of hats. Only 3 got back to us, Leo, almost immediately, the other 2 within several months (I've yelped and Angie Listed them for their questionable customer service...) Wall definitely needed more than cosmetics - safety and aesthetics - drainage needed to be redone, stones replaced and wall was falling forward...we wanted it fixed. We contacted 3 service providers 2 which didnt even BOTHER to come back with a quote - we are tough negotiators and although we knew the work would cost more than we led them to believe, we wanted to start at a reasonable point and open to suggestions. Leo not only came when he said he would, he was patient with his back and forth negotiation process. Not having heard from the other 2 vendors and feeling his base price was reasonable, checked out other work and listened to his recommendations, we went with FieldStone Pro. They tore down, and rebuilt, recycled our old stone as requested, expanded our yard work, fixed some of the old delapidated areas and delivered a beautiful expanded patio and double tier stone wall (we originally had one tier), that come spring and the added green, is a true "wow" view from our dining room and breakfast nook! Gorgeous work! They delivered on time, cost and schedule what they promised. They exceeded expectations. They had a little incident during the work but they didn't leave us hanging - they kept us informed and made up for lost time. It is of particular notice that for mason work - they are clean, meticulous, organized and detailed oriented. Leo LOVES his workmanship and it shows. He is an extremely personable professional and it was a delightful experience from first stone down-demolition and construction. Most importantly, he came when he said he would. She was literally trying to get him fired for bad reviews. I owned a business for 10 years. I got a couple bad reviews along the way about employees work and had requests for refunds. I did so willingly because the customer satisfaction outweighed my ego. I would NEVER call a clients employer after they left a bad review to voice my personal opinion of them. It's absolutely insane that the owner took this route instead of just refunding the money. I would avoid this company. I used them this past December to replace the fascia boards at my house…read moreand it's been a nightmare. The guys they sent to do the demo work were unqualified and made a mess of my yard and the drip edge of my roof issue mangled in many places (Chris said it would be straightened then just hid it behind the gutters). Luckily the roofing crew finished the work they started, but it still didn't come out great. I've got multiple gaps that have formed around the fascia boards and gutters that are all messed up now, with water getting behind them in multiple places. There are wasps currently building nests in the gaps they left. I've called, texted and sent messages to Chris (the owner) through Yelp and he hasn't responded once and apparently doesn't stand behind his work. They also found a roof issue while they were doing the fascia boards that required them to remove a section of the roof and repair it, and while I haven't noticed any issues with it yet I'm nervous about the quality of it after seeing how the fascia boards turned out. They were supposed to replace the soffit reveal where they replaced the roof but never did, and I found a piece where they were supposed to install pvc fascia material is actually just a piece of tin cut to that shape. The soffit reveals all around the house are also uneven in a lot of places. I ended up having to buy a roofing magnet to pick up the hundreds of nails they left behind in my yard. I tried to give Chris the opportunity to make this right, but he won't answer or return any of my calls or messages. I would not recommend using Oakwood Roofing.
