The previous two summers were disappointing, and against my better judgment, I gave them one more chance this season. At the beginning of the season, I made it clear that I wasn't just looking for someone to cut grass -- I wanted full property maintenance, including fertilization, weeding, edging the beds, and trimming. They assured me this would not be a problem. From the start, the service was a disaster. I constantly had to call them to handle weeds, bushes that had been knocked down, and trimming. They would mow the lawn but but pass by dead branches multiple times until I called them. In late August, I requested a fertilization and grass treatment. Their office manager called a few days later to schedule it, telling me to leave the materials outside. They never showed up and stood me up on several appointments. After not showing up for two appointments I got a call that they wanted to combine the fertilizer and weed treatment and would be there later i the day. I had My wife had to rush to purchase three bags of fertilizer so it would be ready -- and once again, they never showed up. When they finally came and after I communicated 3 times what product to use, they applied the wrong treatment to my lawn, which is 100% bluegrass and very sensitive to chemicals. After they applied the wrong treatment they sent me a bill. After sending them an email about this about this they agreed to waive it. A week later on the normal grass cut day nobody showed up. Several more days passed and grass was extremely long. I went to email them. And realized I somehow missed this email from them. I am copying and pasting it. Good morning Duane, You can not apply another clover killer to your grass, it will burn it.. The company decided to stop services going forward as of today. We believe you would benefit from a dedicated gardener service, which we do not provide. I will process the credit card for this week's services today, but not the weed killer application. Despite having assured me they could handle everything and charging nearly $7,000 over the summer I am left to find a new company with a few weeks left in the summer. I will add The office manager was always polite, but the owner's wife, who appears to run the operations, is extremely domineering and unprofessional. I share this detailed experience to save others time and money. NV Landscaping might be okay for a basic grass cut, but if you have a high-end property and want true maintenance with attention to detail and good customer service, this is not the company for you."

Being from California, the concept of trees, vast open spaces of land, and inclement weather are foreign to me; I needed help. My lawn was too big to mow myself; and I didn't want to add another chore to my bf's house upkeep list. We received a flyer in the mail from Highwood Landscaping offering a discount so I decided to test them out. Lawn mowed; no problems! After that test run, we kept them on for scheduled mowing, and I've been nothing but pleased. Then the Fall hit, the leaves were everywhere, everywhere, everywhere! We don't have this many trees in Cali! I never knew it could become such a problem. My lawn was definitely bringing the value of the neighborhood down, as it had become such an eyesore covered in leaves. But luckily, Highwood could take care of my Fall Cleanup as well. Phew. Leaves cleaned, no problems! And now that the snow has finally thawed, and the sun begins to warm my soul; I recently was reminded that there is life outside my heated living room. Time to make my yard presentable! Then, by coincidence or mind incepting fortune, Highwood gave me a call the very next day! (How did they know!?!) I had Amber come out to do an estimate for some landscaping. I was impressed with how knowledgeable she was about the different types of plant life I could get into my yard. She was very professional; and offered up suggestions I would have never thought of myself. I felt like I was on one of those design shows! Landscaping is not everyone's forte, but it is definitely an area of expertise for the employees of Highwood Landscaping. As a customer, it makes me feel good to have such a high level of professionalism and customer service.

After several weeks of watching them closely to make sure we just weren't missing it, we politely asked if we misunderstood the services we were paying for and they responded by denying they neglected the weed-whacking and cancelled our service all together because the yard was too "bumpy." Perhaps they shouldn't have been mowing over the ONE tree our yard has and used a weed-whacker over the roots instead? If you want cheap, go with Highwood. If you want quality professionals, look elsewhere.

When I asked about their fuel surcharge, they refused to tell me their sources or provide any proof, claiming they have their own "sources." That's shady and unacceptable. Their response to service issues is sluggish--sometimes taking days or weeks to respond--and they want to control when they address problems, not when it's urgent. This company is unprofessional, dishonest, and doesn't care about customer service or transparency. Do yourself a favor and find someone else. PS. They write their own 5-star reviews - be warned!

The price tag ultimately felt like really good value for everything they provide. A few years ago I contacted them to clean my gutters but also install gutters on my garage. They sent me an estimate electronically, I signed the contract and they did the job shortly thereafter. Aside from the clean (and new) gutters, you wouldn't have even known they were at my house. This year I needed the gutters cleaned again and didn't hesitate to contact RIO. Oh and RIO sent me a reminder via email, reminding me that I should get my gutters cleaned but also giving a list of their other services (power washing, roof washing, tree services). Again I was able to engage them via their website, received the quote quickly, approved it, scheduled the date. Well the date came and they guys didn't come out but Gabriel called me saying that they got hung up on another job and it was getting late and dark out and he said he didn't want them to do my job in the dark (makes sense).
