You get a licensed Arborist, not just a guy who cuts down trees. The owner/Arborist is an artist and an acrobat in trees 100 feet tall. His work was better than I could have hoped for and was exactly what I had asked him and his workers to do. My request was very difficult: to remove 5 pine (spruce) trees that were growing up and through a huge, ancient (possibly 250 years old) red oak tree that is being considered as one of Connecticut's notable trees. Most of the pine trees were over 100 feet tall. This was no easy task, because the red oak had to be pruned and protected, while cutting down and disentangling all the pines from within its branches. They did a GREAT JOB! The Arborist and his workers were not only extremely helpful in their communication with me, but were professional, knowledgeable, courteous, timely, and not only did an exceptional job on removing the 5 trees. but also, a great job at cleaning up, removing all the debris, and protecting the yard. My home, my yard, my red oak tree, and even my driveway looked perfect when they finished. The Arborist even looks out for animal nests and baby animals while cutting trees. What could be better! I am happy to give a well-deserved top-notch 5 Star-Rating to the owner/Arborist Mike Strubhar and his workers. The Orion Tree Co. is the BEST tree company our there!

I called Orion Tree Company, and they were extremely helpful and knowledgable about all the possible angles I could take. They came out and removed a load dead branches, leaving a flawless clean up in their wake. Not even a twig left on the lawn after an understandably messy trimming process while they addressed the dead branches. We're going to try a fertilizer treatment later in the season, as per their suggestion. They were very transparent, as far as how practical or realistic any course of action we might take - our tree is most likely going to die, so with the treatment suggestion they also warned that there was no guarantee this would work, and we would most likely lose the tree anyways. I wouldn't hesitate to refer Orion Tree Company if you're looking for a professional arborist.

Gets the job done and is honest, but has terrible customer service and honestly, he complains too much. UPDATE: Since my last review I've learned that during the visit Kevin destroyed my neighbors bushes and as a result they will no longer allow access to the trees through their property. The trees on my property are located in the backyard and depending on the way the tree service cuts trees down, the only way to access the trees is through their property. The first time around these neighbors were really nice about letting us use their property to gain access so it really disappoints me that they will no longer be as accommodating for future jobs because of his negligence. In all honesty I scaled back my prior review because I'm a glass type full type of guy, but in all honesty he is extremely unprofessional. An entire portion of his visit was spent badmouthing previous customers he had worked with in addition to badmouthing my HOA. This business is owned by Kevin Sullivan. He has owned two other businesses; specifically karate schools. One is called "Kevin Sullivan's Black Belt Karate School" and the other is "Kickboxing of Farmington". You can look these businesses up on Yelp to get a better sense of my basic experience. Basically, some of the reviews from these businesses echo the same concerns I had regarding his 'character'.

This wasn't a simple job; the large oak tree was positioned directly over our septic leach fields and required extra care and precision. From start to finish, their team demonstrated an incredible level of expertise and professionalism. All the logs were carefully roped and lowered not a single stump or branch was dropped which can cause damage to our new driveway or lawn. The crew worked with precision and respect for our property, ensuring complete safety at all times. Their attention to detail was second to none. They also went above and beyond with cleanup, leaving our yard looking neat and organized. The logs were stacked perfectly in an easy-to-manage pile, ready to be cut for firewood. Owen's Tree's equipment was clearly top-notch and well-maintained, allowing them to handle a large, complex job with efficiency and care. They were quick, yet never rushed, a true sign of a skilled and confident team. Above all, they were honest, fair, and professional in every interaction. The pricing was very reasonable for the high quality of work and the level of safety they maintained throughout. I can't recommend Owens Tree highly enough. If you're looking for a company that combines expert knowledge, safety, professionalism, and fairness, look no further Owens Tree is the one to call! We had gotten 3 quotes, and while he was not the cheapest from the three companies, we contracted with him because we sensed a high level of honesty and expertise in our interaction. My best friend in Harwinton had work done by Owens Tree in August, and recommended I call them after she had 5 tree removed. I couldn't believe how right she was, because they exceeded my expectations. Paying to get trees cut is a reluctant expense, but seeing what they did, it was money well spent. Funny Disclosure: While Owen's Tree and me share the same last name, this is an unbiased review, by a real customer who coincidentally shares their company name with my last name, however, there is no relation. Call Jose for a quote. You won't have to call any other tree company, because Owen's Tree is the company to call!!!
