I'm not even sure where to start!…read more My husband and I bought a house in Mission Hills over a year ago. We decided to do a full remodel, and after a year of tons of work we finally hired painters to come and paint our entire house. It was a nightmare. It actually turned out to be the biggest mistake we made throughout this remodel. They painted our entire house without sanding anything over 100-year-old wood! We could take our fingernails and scratch off the paint easily. It was a ton of money and my heart was broken. Thank God our contractor recommended Bretts! Andy and his crew came to the rescue! They knew that we needed help immediately and put on their schedule although they were already very busy. They knew that we had a move-in date and needed this done sooner than later. They went out of their way and worked their butts off to get this job done. Not only have I never seen a paint job done so well, they were very respectful, and they gave us a price that we could not find any place else. They also fixed all of the mistakes that were made before free of charge. I think that they knew that we were desperate and had been put in a really bad situation by the other painters. When we went in today with our red tape to show them minor mistakes and places that we needed to touch up, I did not find one place that needed touch up or any mistakes!!! I was blown away. I will be sending them customers in the neighborhood in the future, and I will also be using them for other paint jobs and other projects that we will have in the future. Thank you again Andy and your team! Now I can move into my home and feel like a queen in my castle!!! If I could give you more than five stars I would!

One of the other quotes we received was $2,600.00, and that individual did not measure, so we went with Tom and are so happy we did. We don't live at the property yet, but Tom made it very easy for us to work with him, and we totally trusted him with our home. Tom also fixed issues from the previous painters at no extra cost to us (like where they had gotten paint on the trim and moulding). He worked extremely fast with precision, kept us in the loop on issues with the house, and even fixed 2 walls for me where I mistakenly told him to paint them the wrong color. Our final interior bill came out to $3,100.00 because the house ended up needing 3 coats instead of 2 coats due to the dark color the previous owners had selected, but that also included materials and was still cheaper than one of the other quotes we had received. We liked Tom and Chris' work so much that we also selected them to paint our exterior, and they did a fabulous job. Not only did they go above and beyond by actually fixing areas of our home where the paneling was coming off and caulking it back onto the home, but they gave it a thorough power wash and coordinated the work with other exterior contractors. I have posted progress photos and will update when the work is fully final on Saturday! We highly recommend Tom and Chris for anyone seeking to paint the interior or exterior of their home!

Mark's 30 plus year experience showed when they encountered issues with the paper the mural was printed on. The artist that designed the mural had unfortunately selected a very inexpensive material to print the mural on and it required extra time and care to properly install with out effecting the print. In the end there were a few minor fixes needed that were not even Mark's issues, he returned the very next day after the paper had dried an settled to touch up. Fantastic work and professionalism. His wife is an artist and she creates custom wall paper herself, next time I might look into her for a design.

Since then Indy and his staff have painted the exterior of a former employers home in Point Loma, another friends home in East Village and one of my clients office in Bankers Hill. I recently saw Indy at one of these job sites and asked him if he could paint my old dated 1986 wooden cabinets throughout my home. Let me tell you, Indy is not just a extremely detailed quality painter but he is a true "Artist"! Look at his Yelp pictures and see for yourself. Indy turned those old wood cabinets into French "Antique White" pieces of Art. I have a new Kitchen, Bath and Linen Closet because of Indy's fine craftsmanship. I too, Highly Recommend United Colors Painting!

We found him working with neighbors. He is dependable, honest and communicates well. He explained the process and had us inspect each step as it was completed. What started out as a painting project ended up being a restoration, which in the end was a good decision. There was some wood replacement and quite a bit of sanding and filling that had to be done. After the project was complete there was a five-day extreme heat wave which caused a normal micro-movement of wood resulting in cracking of the paint at a few joints. Indy came immediately to repair it and did it without attitude. We are very happy with his work and would recommend him anytime. His prices are more than fair, his work ethic is strong, he knows his materials, he updates on progress, and stands behind his work.

Several local contractors have wait lists of 6 to 9 months, particularly for moderately sized projects. Floor to Ceiling Inc. was one of 3 contractors who provided a bid to convert our garage into a music studio. We met with Bella, from, who ultimately became our project manager.  She communicates clearly and listens to her customer. She did not push her ideas to rack up higher costs. Bella was specific about a project start and end date. She assured us that her team would work continuously and not leave us dangling mid-project while they worked at another job site. Bella kept her word and Floor to ceiling essentially finished the project within the anticipated time frame. A slight delay was primarily caused by scheduling issues with the San Diego city building inspector. At every step through this process, Bella texted me so I knew what to expect and when to expect it. Floor to ceiling employs skilled craftsmen who arrived on time, were polite, wore face masks, and cleaned up the work site at the end of each day. I was particularly impressed with the two person team who completed the garage and bathroom flooring. In an old home, such as ours, floors are not always level and plumb. The finished tiled floors, however, are perfectly spaced and level. Bella pays close attention to the fine details and the he folks at Floor to Ceiling Inc. know what they're doing and do it well. I highly recommend them.

There were bad patch jobs, peeling water based paint over oil paint and old cracking oil paint. Suffice to say it needed some major TLC. I must have met with a dozen companies. Some quoted 8-12k (for a 1000 sq ft house), others could do it for a reasonable price but with no guarantee on the work and said it wouldn't look that great. Jose came to the house and had a clear plan on what to do to make it look the best and keep the price reasonable. Here's why we'd recommend them to anyone. - His foreman Rene was lead on the project and did an amazing job. Overall paint & prep guru with strong attention to detail. - They use the best paint (Dunn Edwards) and it's included in the price. - They have a long guarantee on their work. - They're friendly, trustworthy and flexible. For example, we went a little too bold in one room, and they helped up picking a new color and repainted it for a small fee. They did the job back in Jan and I'm consistently looking at the walls still admiring how good they look. My friends have had painting horror stories, and I'm thankful we went with these guys.

I found Elder, the owner of Easy Painting Company. He was very professional, very kind and very patient. Elder scheduled the next day, he was punctual, professional, accountable, paid great attention to detail, and definitely put his customer and the job first. The job was quoted to take three hours, but took six hours for him and his apprentice, because of the age and condition of the rental. Elder made sure to stay until the job was done perfectly. He had me do a walk-through and show him and his apprentice any spots that I wanted to do any kind of touchup and stayed until I was totally satisfied with the completion of the job. Elder really came to help when I needed it, and did an excellent job, had excellent prices, excellent workers, and an excellent mindset to treat his customers with respect, professionalism and heart. I really appreciate him helping me get my little place ready for this new chapter in my life. I highly recommend if you have any kind of work you need done, give him a call.
