BMW Transmission fluid that has been burning due to a clogged water pump hose.

Don is one of the most honest person I'v met in the industry. I don't let anyone just touch my cars, in fact I would rather just do it myself and get it done right. Don has had my cars a total of 4 times , knowing ahead of time what the car needed, he reiterated what could be the issue , which aligned with the cost , time , and repairs. If your looking to learn something along the way , he'll explain how things work , and put things into perspective for you.

Don built a heavy duty 2004R for my Rat Rod! KBL is the best place for your transmission needs!

Don and Karen at KBL went above and beyond to take care of my transmission. He rebuilt my transmission for a great price and when we got it installed it wouldn't go into gear and made a loud noise. Don asked me to bring my car to him (keep in mind this is a 1932 Ford Rat Rod truck and not easy to work on) so he could check it out. Not only did he pull the trans back out of my truck and correct the issue it was done in 1 day!!! Turns out his supplier put the wrong torque converter in the box with the correct part number! This is the kind of customer service you don't find very often anymore. I was expecting some charge for removing and replacing the transmission since KBL didn't install it but they totally took care of it at NO CHARGE!! They will always have my business!!!

My mom after a ride she's happy.

I have a 1966 impala SS that I don't trust to many people with to work on I do most stuff to it myself. But I've known my 4 Speed Muncie and clutch has been going out for awhile now it was time to get it looked at. I did some research and by word of mouth from some of the guys from a couple of car clubs they told me Don at KBL was your guy. I dropped it off talked to Karen which is really nice explained to don the issues told me give me a day to look at it. Got a call back was told what it needed the price and when it would be done. And that's exactly what happen the car runs amazingly this shop is class act. Thanks guys for taking care of my baby. Lol. Would highly recommend this shop.

Since my truck was out of warranty, I wasn't sure where to turn. I reached out through Yelp and heard back from Ed almost immediately. He had a good idea of what might be wrong and invited me to bring the truck in for an assessment. After inspecting it, he identified damage (caused by rats) to the transmission wiring harness, which had unfortunately caused internal damage. He walked me through everything clearly and provided a very reasonable estimate for a full rebuild. Throughout the entire process, Ed was easy to communicate with, always professional, and genuinely helpful with his advice. What really stood out was how he went above and beyond after the repair. I was told this type damage might be covered under my comprehensive auto insurance. Ed then took the time to work directly with my insurance company--providing detailed documentation and expert insight. Because of his effort and experience, the claim was approved and the repair ended up being fully covered. That level of service is rare these days. I truly appreciate Ed's honesty, professionalism, and follow-through. He did exactly what he said he would do and then some. I wouldn't hesitate to come back or recommend him to anyone in need of transmission work.

I was extremely stressed because dealing with vehicle problems was the last thing I wanted on my mind while trying to enjoy my vacation. I spent some time on Yelp reading reviews for several transmission shops before deciding to call Transmission Masters. One of the reasons I chose them was because they've been in business for more than 48 years and had consistently great reviews. I also like reading the one-star reviews because, let's be honest, you really can't please everyone. I just wanted to find an honest and trustworthy shop. I called and spoke with Ron right before closing time. He took the time to listen to everything I was experiencing, explained what he thought the issue could be, and told me to bring the van in the next morning. Their shop opens at 8:00 AM, but when I arrived around 7:45 AM, they were already there working on vehicles. When I walked in, Ron remembered our conversation from the previous day, which immediately made me feel comfortable. He scanned my van but didn't notice anything unusual. He reset my ECM and another setting, and thankfully that solved the problem. What impressed me the most was that Ron didn't charge me a dime for his time or help, even though I genuinely wanted to give him something for helping me out. I drove all the way from Disneyland back home to Northern California without a single issue afterward. Ron, if you happen to read Yelp reviews, I truly want to say THANK YOU for your time, honesty, and knowledge. You helped turn a very stressful situation into a positive experience, and I sincerely appreciate it.

Long story short, they said it was possibly the valve body that need to be replaced and quoted my 1400 to do so. In fact, they said they had to get the part from the dealer and it was non refundable if that wasn't the cause! A quick search brought me to Transmission Masters and after speaking with Ron I decided to have it towed to his shop. It was the right move! It turned out that the valve body needed to be cleaned and the check balls replaced. He completed the work in a few hours and charged me a heck of a lot less of what I was quoted. What an honest man! Shout out to Louis as well. Ron, you will always have my business and telling everyone I know to come see you!

I told Adrian Ciejka specifically what I needed done and informed him I had already replaced the filler tube O-ring, installed a Moroso transmission pan gasket, and replaced the speedometer gear and O-ring myself. The fluid visible on the inspection cover was clearly seepage from the accumulator O-ring -- exactly what I told him before he even looked at it. Instead of listening, he claimed the filler tube was also leaking and then told me the transmission would need to be dropped and the crossmember removed just to replace the accumulator O-ring. This is factually incorrect -- the accumulator on a TH350 transmission is accessible from the outside without dropping the transmission or removing the crossmember. Either he doesn't know basic transmission repair on a common GM unit, or he was deliberately misleading me to justify a full reseal at $400+. When I declined and asked to pick up my car, he charged me $180 just to remove an inspection cover -- a 10 minute job with no upfront disclosure of the diagnostic fee and no discussion of cost before proceeding. To make it worse, I dropped the car off with the transmission fluid low and picked it up overfilled by half a quart. An overfilled transmission leaks more visibly -- a well known trick used by dishonest shops to justify expensive repairs the customer doesn't need. I paid $60 in Lyft fees to get there and back, $180 for nothing, and left with my car unrepaired and the fluid level tampered with. Classic car owners beware. This shop does not listen to the customer, fabricates unnecessary repairs, and will upsell you on work you don't need. Find someone honest who will do the job you ask for. This is not that shop.
