We had 7 of us to include two toddlers and she was able to keep them happy and energized the entire time. Lovely little town in Southern Oregon…read more We visited earlier this month and stayed a few days at the historic McCall House, with its magnificent and award-winning 132 year-old magnolia tree. We wandered around Ashland every day, decompressing from the rat race, enjoying its lovely coffee shops, restaurants, and gorgeous Lithia Park with its trees, duck ponds, and stream. We shopped at clothing and jewelry boutiques, gorged on ice cream and candy, and chatted with locals. We even took a day trip up to snow-blanketed Crater Lake, Oregon's only National Park, an easy two hour drive. The main reason we were here, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival (back after a two year hiatus due to COVID) took our holiday in Ashland over the top. We will be back.

DISGUSTING CITY PRACTICES SCARE AWAY VISITORS!…read more I parked in a city owned "Free" parking lot, all the spots where regular square spots in a square parking lot yet when I came back I saw a ticket on my windshield that said "Parking Citation for HEAD IN PARKING ONLY". These scam artists gave me a ticket for backing up into my parking spot instead of "head in". There was NO SAFETY ISSUE in this lot with backing up into your spot, the City of Ashland literally preys on visitors who don't know and miss the tiny sign that says "Head in parking only" since it doesn't make any sense and they use that as a way to just make profits for the city. This city is so worthless that they have a "no smoking rule" yet 3-4 people were smoking cigarettes next to our outside dining tables all the same time and I called the cops, 20 minutes later they still were smoking and no cops ever showed up to enforce the law YET these lazy SCAMMY SCUMMY Ashland loosers picked on easy prey, and are going around giving tickets for people that back up into their parking spots so they can make an easy buck. I was visiting here often but now I am so disgusted with their practices I'll keep my business away and so should you!

This gentleman owns a catering service in Medford, Oregon called the Manfood Catering, now not knowing he owed this catering service, I was just casually talking to his wife and mentioned it was hard to find a restaurant on this island that makes really good ribs and guess what she pulled out of her purse her husband's business card and printed Manfood Catering, turn the card over he cooks pork ribs, chicken, pulled pork, brisket, ham and wings, WOW! This wonderful gentleman out of the blue said he would cook his ribs for my husband and I, of course, I said 'no' you are on vacation, he would not take 'no' for an answer, so a few days later we met up again and of course, we thought we were going to eat his ribs with his wife ad him, but no, he cooked the ribs just for my husband and I, like again WOW!, who does this for total strangers. He, of course, did not have his special seasoning hand rub, but used whatever he had and his pork ribs were fantastic, the best ribs we have had since we moved to the island, so you can only imagine what his actual ribs would taste like with his special seasoning. On June 1, 2017? this gentleman will be opening up his food trailer somewhere in the Medford, Oregon area, so lucky all of you who live in Medford, Oregon, I am so jealous. My husband and I have only tasted his pork ribs, but I have no doubt that whatever he cooks has to be 'GREAT'. Remember when you see the food trailer with the name Manfood Catering, give his food a try, you will be going back for more and more.
