Both of my daughters love him. He is intelligent, compassionate, patient, thorough, and has the kind of bedside manner that makes families feel safe and cared for. We have trusted him for nearly a decade and have recommended countless people to this practice because of the incredible care HE provides. Which is exactly why the behavior from his office staff today was so shocking and infuriating. I received a phone call threatening collections over a bill that I had ALREADY communicated multiple times would be paid at our next appointment in just a few weeks. Not ignored. Not refused. Communicated. Yet instead of being treated like a loyal, long-term patient and human being, I was treated like a problem. What made it even worse was the complete lack of compassion, accountability, and professionalism from the office manager. The office blamed the billing company. The billing company stated the office makes the decision. Back and forth, finger pointing, excuses, while speaking to patients with absolutely zero empathy. Healthcare offices need to remember that patients are not account numbers. We are families. We are people who have supported your practice for YEARS. People who trusted you enough to recommend friends, family, and loved ones into your care. To be spoken to in a cold, dismissive, and threatening manner over a balance that was already being handled felt incredibly disrespectful and honestly dehumanizing. I called Wee Pediatric, they were accepting new patients, schedule them for their appointments but I needed to change their PCP on the medical card. They were foster kids but now I have legal guardianship on my granddaughters. The only one can change their PCP is the social worker. When the social worker called to change thePCP, and Wee Pediatric realize my grandkids were foster kids, they were denied to be a patient there. The office manager exact words were, "WE DON'T TAKE FOSTER KIDS" I blew up, I ask the manager, I want it in writing why your office not accepting my grandkids. I kept on asking her to put it in writing she was ignoring my request, finally she said ok, we will considered taking your grandkids. I had called Dr.Jans office to see if they could see me right away because I was pregnant and bleeding heavily and informed them of a possible miscarriage. They were able to get me in right away. My other half and I were in absolute tears we knew our situation wasn't ideal. Dr. Jan's knowledge and ease and helping us get through this situation made me feel so at ease. Although I had to do an emergency D n C procedure I appreciated her professionalism and grace in how she was able to handle and control the situation. I was very nervous and through out the whole process she talked me through everything before she did it and most of all remained calm. I honestly feel like that day she saved me life. Her words of wisdom that day as well as on our follow up after really helped our grieving process. It gave us hope. Although my pregnancy ended in a miscarriage. The nurse and doctors are so nice and not clinical. Takes their time to ask questions and doesn't make you feel rushed or like a number! It is a walk-in clinic so first come first serve. The best thing is, after you check in, they let you know when to come back. So do not call to make an appointment. I would say the latest to go would probably be 3pm to be safe if you want to be seen. I went on a Sunday at 1 and they were all booked and they close at 4pm. If you are skeptical about here, don't be. It would be a good decision to go.

One of his APRNs prescribed an antibiotic meant for upper respiratory infections for my UTI - haiyaa! (Uncle Roger sound). I hope my PCP/APRN are not reading this, but if they are, they will know where I disappeared to, and it is here, my new medical home for non-emergencies! I still love them but I also love this place....a LOT. Access Medical Mililani is my new go-to place when I can no longer: 1) wait days/weeks for an appointment 2) suffer insanely 3) bear the thought of waiting 45 minutes to 1 hour or more in the waiting room to be seen by my PCP 4) bear the thought of driving in traffic going to the appointment, being stuck in a crowded paid parking lot with bad drivers, being stuck in traffic going home all while feeling sick 5) wonder how my PCP can diagnose me over the phone without checking my lungs, my ears, my throat. Both doctors took care of me on two separate occasions - in person! No telehealth Tom Foolery here. They were very knowledgeable, professional, caring, and kind. They explained everything in detail and I never felt rushed. I really appreciated their time in taking care of me. I was very grateful for this place and all doctors/workers that run this clinic. I overheard the receptionist say that they take Quest insurance, and that is great, because a lot of places will not take Quest. I know so many people that need help with Quest but they can't get seen. The name "Access" in Access Medical really is a great name for this place. I also love the fact that they charge you the co-payment right up front instead of having it to mail it by check weeks later, which is inconvenient to a procrastinator like myself who throws mail into a big pile without checking it for weeks. This place is super convenient, inside of Mililani Long's Town Center. Parking is free, zip in and out. It's a walk-in clinic only, so no appointment needed. I don't see people waiting too long to be seen. Shop at Long's while you get your RX filled out conveniently in the store. RETURN FACTOR: Don't want to have to look forward to going to a medical clinic anytime soon, but when I do, it will be Access Medical.

This is so convenient considering afterwards, if you're still up for it, you could do grocery shopping at Foodland, or if you've been waiting for a while and you got discharged you could go eat! Or just do what I did and have your spouse drop you off while they go take care of dinner for everyone. The wait was manageable considering I drove westbound in rush hour traffic and was able to get in the queue ahead of time. I also really needed my son to be seen so I knew I had to wait. I also appreciate that everyone who saw my son and me were able to help this new-mom out and ease my worries. From the receptionist, to the nurse who took our vitals, to the doctor who helped diagnose us, I am appreciative of all of them.

12-23-2025 Today I had the pleasure of an office visit with Kylie Tanaka, PA and Mely her Med…read moreassistant. This is the first time I could not get an appointment with my regular doctor. Since it was a pre-op clearance, Mely performed an EKG with a portable device she could wheel into the examination room. Next Kylie, PA actually looked into my ears, mouth and felt my stomach which my doctor has never done. She went over my blood pressure, temperature and EKG readings and told me which meds to stop taking one week prior. She sent me down to the lab for blood and urine tests after. I was happy and impressed that both ladies were both kind, thorough and very pretty plus easy to talk to. I was told if I don't get a call, that's good news and I'm cleared for surgery.
