Ordered my usual coffee order when checking out never been to coffee spots, a latte and flat white. Drinks were to go so I didn't try them until I got back to the car. My hot flat white was hot. My hot latte was room temp. Guess the barista doesn't know how to use the milk steamer? The coffee was sour, not milk sour but bean sour. I can't believe I'm saying this, but just go to Tim Hortons instead. You would save so much money, and have a much better coffee. read more

Raw chicken. I was almost halfway through my chicken sandwich when I noticed it was raw. The middle 2 thirds of the chicken was uncooked. That was last Saturday and today is the first day I don't have dia**hea. I brought it back to the bar. Several waitresses and a manager (or owner?) came to my table and apologized profusely. They said they'd take care of the bill. I assumed they'd cover my guest as well. I was still in shock, so I didn't check my receipt. I just was my credit card receipt, and they only reimbursed my meal - I guess that's right since I didn't eat it all. They did give me 3 cookies and they were delicious. My body turned those to liquid for later evacuation. We are suffering from a serious service problem and a severe lack of resolution. I really need to learn to make a bigger fuss. It's too bad that a more vocal person that me would have gotten more out of this. Terribly embarrassing. There's a new taco truck in town This busy coffee shop moved across the street and now houses an awesome patio! They made it very festive, added a variety of seating and cabanas. Really nice vibe. I loved all the decor from their original location and they brought a few paintings over. . I've had their drinks a few times and dined in for lunch once before but the taco truck and patio got me this time. 3 tacos (chicken, lentil & beef) fresh salsa and chips. Everything was good. (Little boring with the same toppings on all 3 tacos, hoping next time they spice it up a bit and add some variety/ creativity.) Maybe I'm a bit spoiled after living in Toronto but, the toppings make the taco. Next time I'll try the salad :) read more

I'm sitting here sipping a nice, rich cup of Americano while Mrs is shoe shopping next door... I relly dig the cosy atmosphere here, and a bunch of people occupying the tables around me having a lively convo. Most indy coffee shops I visit, I ask them where their beans come from. Not that care that much about the beans. But I do care that they care. Most places, you get the puzzled, "I dunno... from the bag, I think." The guy here gave me a riveting story how they have to track down good beans based on the changing wearher patterns in various regions, agricultural practices, etc. An obvious expert. read more

In general, Kawartha Coffee is a great place. But I think I've had some bad luck where they're concerned. First, when I moved here early in 2018 they were closed for several months because they moved locations. Once their new location opened, I think I visited when they were still working out logistics, so things were a little awkward. And now that it's the off season, they're only open until 3:30pm during the week and 5pm on Saturdays. In other words, there's a very limited window for me to visit them. I can't really blame them however, as Bobcaygeon is quite dead in the winter months. But they're really the only coffee shop in the general area, so it's disappointing. And, their food truck is closed in the winter and their menu is limited. I think the thing that frustrates me the most about Kawartha Coffee, and many other local businesses, is their unfortunate mishandling of social media. Kawartha Coffee has a Facebook page that they do post to on a semi regular basis. But, whomever does the responding doesn't read the questions or their replies very effectively because I've received responses that make no sense and/or have horrible typos. Plus, their Facebook page doesn't have their hours listed. And the website on their Facebook page links to an available domain name as they haven't updated their website in months. How hard is it to add hours and remove the website URL? My biggest pet peeve for businesses is that if you're going to have a social media presence, keep it updated. Otherwise, don't have a social media presence. What I really love about Kawartha Coffee is that they are very environmentally conscious, which is not something a lot of local businesses can say. I'm glad they've taken an active approach to keeping things sustainable. read more

As this place grows the quality goes down. Supposedly they serve coffee a few hours a day even though it's called a coffee company. the rest of the day it's overpriced beer and poor expensive food with a bad attitude staff that take their cue from a arrogant owner who thinks she is doing you a favor by letter you on the premises. I Like quaint coffee shops like this. It is very local (vs famous brands) and does attract a lot of people. The space is divided into 2 areas, the lower area where people can eat, drink, and talk, and the 2nd level where it has a more cozier feel. In term of drinking and eating, I had their blackberry vanilla ice tea. It is very light, unsweetened and refreshing. I also decided to munch on their brownie; chunky, gooey, yummy! Aside from the regular coffee and sweets, they did also serve a petite menu of food, and (im guessing at night) is when their mini bar is open. Overall a nice cute place to hang out in when you are passing be this area. 4.5 stars in my book read more

Stopped by for a Latte and Mocha, both were excellent! We liked the place so much, we decided to order the Guac and chips. It was ok, but I over heard the waitress advise someone else that the bean dip is really good! Lunch and breakfast specials rotate daily plus they have an extensive menu. The patio in the summer is absolutely the loveliest place to be, not just in Bobcaygeon but anywhere in Ontario. Comfy seating, like sitting in an English country garden, and it's huge, so lots of room for everyone, and lots of privacy if you want it. Whether I just want a great cup of Fair Trade coffee or if I want to indulge in a dessert or have lunch or dinner, this is just the nicest place in Bobcaygeon. The patio is a fun place in summer evenings too, with karoake and live music some nights. Inside, when the weather isn't co-operating, we like their interesting decor. Some days I just like to go there for a first rate espresso while I catch up on my email. read more

Stopped by Saturday Dec 2 afternoon for a coffee and a snack. Nice and cozy coffee shop with some food as well. Ordered a medium cappuccino and sitting there smiling at me was a double chocolate fudge brownie. I've travelled alot and sat in many cafes around the world for an afternoon coffee / snack break. Fantastic local place to grab lunch or have a drink. Came with my family and they were welcoming, kind and efficient. We all had sandwiches with soup or salad and all were delicious! Definitely recommend the chicken and artichoke sandwich- cheesy and amazing. Local beers on tap and great atmosphere.
