I come here occasionally for their carvery dinners and I must say they are wonderful and filling!…read more The price is cheap enough for a dinner as well. The staff are ever so friendly and are always assisting your needs. The place is normally packed on a Sunday due to the football and food. The drink prices are also very reasonable which go down a treat with the dinner. I'll be returning hopefully soon.

The bouncer on the door was very friendly and didn't make me feel like a suspect trying to cross a national checkpoint. The interior is okay. This is not the kind of place one would go to for a quiet pint. In general the clientele are mature, so if you're a young singleton, this is not the place to pull. Unless you're into that kind of thing! They had entertainment on, and the guy (who was a cross between Seal and Mike Tyson) was vocally very good, albeit a tad embarrassing to watch while he played air guitar on stage solo. The function room itself is a nice set up, but where's the staff?! We had a bar to ourselves but no barman. Guests had to go to the very crowded main bar to get drinks. The finger food was plentiful and good. All in all, it's an okay place, but didn't wow me at all. Not somewhere I'd actively go to.

A total local spot to watch sports!…read more If you're a huge football fan or rugby! this is your spot hands down! It's massive with indoor and outdoor seating/bars! Huge huge projection screens all over and the drinks are great! Great staff all over and be sure to tip them, they greatly appreciate it! If you love smoking, seat outside and if you cannot stand smoking, sit inside (my pick). Cannot get better than this for a sports bar!

The space looks non descript from the outside but inside it's huge. It's like a proper American style sports bar. Great place to watch the match, might catch the hurling here today. They do food... Pool tables! That made me rather happy. A lot of students and the new multicultural faces of Dublin united with their love of good drink offers. I really like this place, it's just really happy! I would not be a regular though as I'm a tad too employed to be hanging out here all day like some of the dedicated students ;) I can be a cow like that because I did my degree in the student bar in my uni.

Still, the pub in Ardmore is definitely a nicer place to spend your lunch hour than the horrible canteen. They serve soup and toasted sandwiches, and the barman was always unfailingly polite and friendly. And he always kept some of the chocolate bars in the fridge so that they would always be nice and cold when you bought one. A really nice and considerate guy.

They offer steak on a stone varying in price from €18 for a 9oz sirloin up to €25+ for fillet steak. The steak is brought cooking on the stone to your table along with chunky fries and side salad and a selection of sauces - pepper, garlic mayo and sweet chili. The steak was very tender and as I like mine rare I was able to remove it from the stone when it was cooked to suit my exacting standards, which I liked. The pub has two wood burning fires and the smell of burning wood permeates the place. It was very quiet on a Sat. night at 8pm so we had time to talk with the staff. They tell me their main trade since the new dual carriageway opened some time ago is lunches and I have been recommended to try their carvery which I understand from a no. of sources is very tasty and good value for money. I'll be back to test it out and will update this review then. The two stars dropped are 1 because it was so quiet there wasn't really an atmosphere no fault to the staff and 2 value for money I felt could've been better.

So this place brings back a lot of memories. It is not the old man pub it used to be but it's old man interior is still in tact. The vibe is just totally different. It's bright pink on the outside. You cannot miss this place. A few oulwans asked me if it was a gay bar last week when I was on a crawl of the local pubs. It's not. But I see where they're coming from. The music is hipstery-ish I guess. It varies. Was a little bit of a hip hop the last time. Staff appear indifferent. Not overly friendly nor rude. That suits me grand once I get served beer. They have a pool table and a tiny little area for smoking out the back. They have the usual drinkies on offer with some crafty numbers thrown in for good measure. Tayto crisps, bacon fries and all night toasties for soakage. There is a dog running around anytime I am in here. I presume it's the owners. Or maybe it's a ghost dog. I have happily gotten pissed in here on a number of occasions and will be looking forward to getting pissed again in the near future.

The decor is a mish mash of traditional Irish pub stuff (sign posts and car reg plates) to Rock Bar (Thin Lizzy posters) to Dive Bar (darkly lit with fairy lights). They had a mixed selection of mainstream and micro brewery beer. No craft cider though. But they have toasties! The look and smell delicious. Full after an earlier meal, we didn't order any in this occasion. But next time... Staff were great, served with a welcoming smile. There was plenty of banter between one batman and the regulars. I'll definitely be back, if only for the funny graffiti in the ladies.
