My friend and I rented two motorcycles from here and our experience couldn't have been better. From the beginning Alex was welcoming, super helpful and pleasant over the phone, promptly calling me after I made an on-line request. We rented the Kawasaki w800 and the HD883. The rental process at the start of the day and end of the day was smooth and seamless. Leila and Alex were awesome. The bikes operated perfectly and we had an epic day all over the island. Highly recommend riding up Waimea Canyon! We absolutely loved the bikes but the service was even better. I highly recommend doing business with them!

Couldn't get a rental car, even if I had the $400/day, so I thought I'd try renting a motorcycle. Was riding solo so I went for the cheapest small bike they had. Also Kauai's not designed for tons of speed anyway. I'm glad I did. Little Duke 390 was so much fun, quick and agile. Better on gas too. Smaller bike allowed me to park just about anywhere. After putting 500+ miles on in 4 days, I can honestly say this was the most fun I've had riding. Recommendations: Take the 552 up Waimea Canyon, which starts in Kekaha (I did it twice). Pretty much hit anywhere there's pavement. Helmet is required so go for the full-face shield vs. half helmet. You'll appreciate it when the rain hits you, and it will hit you. Don't forget the sunscreen (I burned the backs of my ankles pretty bad). Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Would definitely do business with them again. (Would love to see some sort of pickup/dropoff service implemented, maybe graded pay scale based on how far from the dealer you are)

Making reservation for a bike was very easy and the staff were great. Kauai H-D has a good selection of bikes to chose from and my bike of choice, a Harley Fatboy was in immaculate condition. I would not hesitate renting from them again next time in Kauai.

Hog in the background ... took so many side-streets. Beginning of our ride. Nearly 300 miles.

Alex was extremely helpful. Of course, their bikes are fantastic. We rode nearly 300 miles in 24 hours. Conveniently, they lent us helmets.

Let the fun begin. On to Kulalau Lookout

Our motorcycle rental and ride up to Kulalau Lookout would have been our favorite day on Kauai if it weren't for our helicopter tour. We put 110 miles on a practically new Street Glide. Reservations are a must. I lost my phone (left it in the saddlebag). It was turned in to Alex and she was able to track me down and I picked it up the next day. Life is good and I am grateful.

Ok. I am NOT a big fan of motorcycles. This place wasn't even on my radar as I don't think I've ever been in a Harley store before and the vroom vroom sound of motorcycles tends to annoy me. BUT, my guy really wanted to bring back a harley shirt from Kaua'i to wear back home and practically had a heart attack when we first passed it. And what girl doesn't like shiny objects? I was really surprised at how much I liked it. There were a lot of cool things to see on the walls and displays. They had a great clearance section where you could get nice shirts for $12 that used to be $36. And they had large sizes - bonus! I brought my dad back a shirt and he LOVES it. They had a wide variety of t-shirts. The girls who worked there impressed me. They had that edgy very pretty look of rocker girls who kick ass and don't care. And were super nice and helpful. I liked that they were really right on with customers - some guy appeared offended that they asked to see his motorcycle license to rent one. No license, no rental. Seriously people - like you didn't know? Was a fun stop and provided a few photo ops.

There were no rental cars available on Kauai at the time we went and Kauai Harley Davidson definitely came through!

2021 Street Glide rental!

Great service! Great people! I rented a Harley while on vacation. I am not one that likes talking on the phone so I reached out online and got a speedy response from Alex. She was knowledgeable and accommodating and delivered the information I needed quickly. I booked and later decided I needed a bike with saddle bags to hold our stuff. She immediately got back to me and made the changes happen. Arrived as planned and everything was ready to go. My street glide had only 1k miles and was in mint condition with all the bells and whistles. She introduced me to Jeff that got us fitted with helmets and went over the features of the bike. No stuffiness, just pure professionalism. It's not often that you find a well run business like this. Everything was perfect and I strongly encourage you to try them out for yourself. Fast, fair and definitely friendly.

5 Stars -- And Every One of Them Earned the Hard Way…read more This is going to be a weird 5-star review. When we planned this vacation, I remembered seeing something about dirt bike rentals on a motocross forum I frequent. A quick search led me to these guys -- check50.com. I filled out their form online, and Galston promptly called me back to get things rolling. Let me just say: surviving the experience was the reward in itself. Galston, Chris, and Chico don't mess around. This isn't your casual trail ride -- it's a brutally grueling adventure. I've been riding and racing dirt bikes my whole life, and these guys are the real deal -- dyed-in-the-wool hard enduro competitors. Their idea of "fun" is tackling the nastiest terrain imaginable, and Kauai's volcanic jungle happily obliges. The "trails" -- if you can call them that -- are more like deep ruts carved through lava rock and roots. The climbs? Near-vertical. The obstacles? Bowling-ball-sized rocks and slick roots everywhere. I think I hit the ground about a dozen times, each one recorded as a bright yellow or orange blip on my elevation tracker I've attached. KRD's guidance was top-notch. They'll provide whatever gear you need. I brought my own pants, jersey, gloves, and goggles, and they supplied the rest -- padded shorts, boots, armor, and a helmet. My steed for the day was a brand-new Beta 390 -- an amazing machine, but definitely a challenge for this type of riding. Like all KTM-lineage dual-sports, it's tall in the saddle. My personal ride back home, a Husqvarna FE, shares that same geometry, and even after I lowered it with a lowering link, it still keeps me on my toes -- literally. If you're an experienced rider, you know that getting both feet comfortably on the ground can make or break your confidence on steep, technical terrain. The tall seat and shallow sag (my bad) made for a tough afternoon. Add in gearing that was a bit too tall for the tight, slow stuff, and I found myself feathering the clutch constantly. My guides agreed a smaller countershaft sprocket would have helped. And yes -- the front brake got quite the workout, too. The payoff came at the top of the Kalepa Ridge preserve -- about 700 feet up -- where the view makes every bruise worth it. Bottom line: I was thrilled just to make it up and down in one piece. It's one of those physically demanding, mentally taxing experiences that leave you with a deep sense of accomplishment for simply finishing. If you're an experienced rider with plenty of recent seat time on steep, single-track terrain and you're looking for your next real challenge -- this is it. If you're after a mellow, scenic ride through paradise, this isn't the tour for you. Try Kauai Powersports for that.
