We were so excited to find a Harley Store in Kauai! We wanted to buy some souvenirs such as T-shirts, shot glasses and any other items we can find. We asked lots of questions because of all the excitement. Alex was willing to assist until we asked too many questions about the merchandise. Seems like we were bothering her as she was trying to multitask with some paperwork. I happened to check. In on Yelp and there was a 15% off coupon. There was no special writing at the bottom of the Yelp Coupon. Alex told us that the 15% was on the lowest merchandise price and it wasn't for the total sale. I mention to Alex there was nothing listed showing with the terms and conditions of the coupon. She then started having a little bit of an attitude and apparently it's 15% for one item of the lowest price. So just make sure that when you're visiting the Kauai Harley, make sure you check in and make sure you know the rules. read more

Let me start by saying that I do not ride motorcycles at all - I simply stopped here to purchase souvenirs for friends that do. With that being said, I can definitely recommend them as a place to shop. The store was clean and well organized. Having been in the auto/dealer industry (27 of them in Kauai) for almost 30 years I have extensive background on how this business works from both sides of the desk and it pains me to write this review. Kauai Motorsports is the absolute worse in business and ethics practices I have ever seen. Ever! They reneged on a signed sales agreement and even took my check for the full amount. They never followed up with me to the point I showed up to take delivery of a pre-owned Yamaha street bike and nothing was ready, no one knew anything about it. Since the salesman was fired early on I dealt with the Store manager Nicole. No follow up, no calls, nothing. Only a few texts that she'll get call back or text but never did ...multiple times! Like I said, the worst. I wanted that bike and even agreed to a major "bump" in price but I had to chase them every few days for an entire MONTH! An entire MONTH! I had cash in hand but no more, not ever! If you want a motorcycle buy private or off-island. Nicole is still in the Honolulu frame of mind, plenty of suckers out there. Nicole, this is Kauai ... we no forget easily and the coconut wireless is very efficient. I tried hard to keep the business on Kauai but it seems like they just didn't give a damn. Well, Kauai Motorsports, you blew it big time! If this is how you want to run a dealership on Kauai you will ultimately fail. From the beginning Alex was welcoming, super helpful and pleasant over the phone, promptly calling me after I made an on-line request. We rented the Kawasaki w800 and the HD883. Couldn't get a rental car, even if I had the $400/day, so I thought I'd try renting a motorcycle. Was riding solo so I went for the cheapest small bike they had. Also Kauai's not designed for tons of speed anyway. I'm glad I did. Little Duke 390 was so much fun, quick and agile. Better on gas too. Smaller bike allowed me to park just about anywhere. After putting 500+ miles on in 4 days, I can honestly say this was the most fun I've had riding. Recommendations: Take the 552 up Waimea Canyon, which starts in Kekaha (I did it twice). Pretty much hit anywhere there's pavement. Helmet is required so go for the full-face shield vs. half helmet. You'll appreciate it when the rain hits you, and it will hit you. Don't forget the sunscreen (I burned the backs of my ankles pretty bad). Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Would definitely do business with them again. (Would love to see some sort of pickup/dropoff service implemented, maybe graded pay scale based on how far from the dealer you are) read more

Ok. I am NOT a big fan of motorcycles. This place wasn't even on my radar as I don't think I've ever been in a Harley store before and the vroom vroom sound of motorcycles tends to annoy me. BUT, my guy really wanted to bring back a harley shirt from Kaua'i to wear back home and practically had a heart attack when we first passed it. And what girl doesn't like shiny objects? I was really surprised at how much I liked it. There were a lot of cool things to see on the walls and displays. They had a great clearance section where you could get nice shirts for $12 that used to be $36. And they had large sizes - bonus! I brought my dad back a shirt and he LOVES it. They had a wide variety of t-shirts. The girls who worked there impressed me. They had that edgy very pretty look of rocker girls who kick ass and don't care. And were super nice and helpful. I liked that they were really right on with customers - some guy appeared offended that they asked to see his motorcycle license to rent one. No license, no rental. Great service! Great people! I rented a Harley while on vacation. I am not one that likes talking on the phone so I reached out online and got a speedy response from Alex. She was knowledgeable and accommodating and delivered the information I needed quickly. I booked and later decided I needed a bike with saddle bags to hold our stuff. Bikin' with the Ball & Chain My wife surprised me with a gift of a full day hog rental from this dealer. I never have rented a bike before and expected to get some old junk. Boy, was I ever wrong. The bike I received was brand spanking new Heritage Soft Tail Classic FLSTC with a fuel injected 93 cubic inch engine, a 6-speed box and absolutely, cosmetically perfect. The bike ran perfectly and easily navigated the hilly island with power to spare. I was kinda hoping to have it to myself for the day, but the boss also wanted to go too (darn). She has never ridden on a bike before and had always poo-pooed the idea of riding with me back home. This time I have her to contend with as well as this beast of a bike. Great ride, great day touring the entire island - up to the barking sands (the only place you can hit 6th gear), up the canyon, out to Hanalei. It was a full day in the sun. We had a blast and had the bike back at 4pm. All I had to do was spill 15 bucks of gas in. The staff at the shop were super nice. No hassles, no hidden charges or anything. It was easy out, easy in. My husband was intrigued when we saw an add in Hawaiian airlines in flight booklet regarding harley rentals so we knew we had to at least visit the place once we got on island. Located right on the side of the highway, we saw all these bikes parked outside a small shop and sure enough it was Kauai HD. The shop was small but very well kept. The staff always seemed busy, but never too busy to help you. They offered to answer questions and show us around which was very nice/friendly of them. The store had a lot of Kauai HD merchandise in case you're in to that. After chatting about the rental and only having one day left on island we opted to pass this time around but maybe next time! read more

Given that two of the other reviews on here were very negative, I was a bit apprehensive about renting a bike, but, seeing as they are pretty much the only game in town I decided to plunge ahead and hope that the negative experiences were an aberration. I stopped in on Sunday, talked to a young lady who took my info (and my money.) She took me outside and "Ratman" showed me a '14 SoftTail Classic (?[I don't really know from Harleys]) and they let me do a few figure 8's in the parking lot. My cruiser at home is a Yamaha Stratoliner, which is similar in style, with a few minor differences in the controls. I reserved the bike for Monday, and, when I got there, it was gassed up and ready to go at 8am. The bike was in brand new condition. There was one tiny scratch in the paint that I didn't even notice - but the guy doing the inspection (Trevor?) did, and wrote it down, along with minor scuffs on the floor boards. The bike runs a little differently than my Yamaha, and seemed to have a little less torque, but I had no complaints. Didn't vibrate, overheat or have any other issues - clutch, shifter, brakes all worked perfectly, as did the signals, gauges etc. Did the usual run up to the Waimea Canyon Lookout, down the other side, out to the end of the road on the West side, back to Koloa and back to Lihue. Encountered a little traffic in and out of Lihue, but most of the ride it was just me and the highway. Rowdy checked me back in, in about 5 minutes, and that was it. No hassles, basically brand new bike, and beautiful roads and scenery. One note: if you like a faceguard - the rental helmets are all half-helmets. The bike I rented had a good sized windshield, but it can get gusty on the island and if you are used to cruising in a 3/4 or full face helmet (like me) it's gonna be windy. After about the first hour of settling in, I put in my earplugs and the wind didn't bother much (the motorcycle sounded/felt better too!) And finally, even though they are a Harley dealer, and I'm not a regular Harley rider, there was none of the Harley BS that you sometimes encounter - I think they actually sell some japanese bikes, there too. If I come out here again, I'd probably give them another go. read more

Best decision we have made in a long time. There is absolutely no better way to see this beautiful island then from behind the set of handle bars. It was absolutely amazing. The service was excellent and rowdy did everything he could to make our trip even better. I plan on recommending this to everyone I know when they come to the island. We were given a 2014 street glide. Possibly one of the best bikes on the road in my opinion.
