One of my best wedding finds throughout the entire process was Stephanie to do the calligraphy for…read moreour invitations, the place cards and a few other fun decor items. In a sea of craziness, Stephanie was the sweet, kind calm calligrapher who gave me exactly what we wanted with her modern and contemporary style. I truly lucked out with this Yelp find. She was amazing. But that wasn't all. She went above and beyond. A couple weeks before our wedding, we lost one of our labradors suddenly. Obviously our labs were important to us and Stephanie knew that since we had about 200 black and chocolate colored mini lab place cards that would be set up with a dog house and other related items. Each of our labs was also going to get their own card and be positioned near the dog house just for fun. Well, Stephanie took it upon herself to create lil gold wings for the lab we lost and did the same for another lab we lost earlier. Both were set up on a mini rainbow bridge. Fab calligraphy aside...she won me over with this act of kindness. xo

We gave her 55 invites to do, which included not only the inner and outer envelopes, but personalized invites for each guests name. She did it all within 48 hours. We had so many comments from our guests about her calligraphy and how that touch was elegant and beautiful! Also, we had a big snafu with our vendor for the first set of invites. The vendor spelled a simple word wrong that none of caught until after Stephanie had completed the invitations. Well, not only did Stephanie not charge me for the horrific mistake on our vendors end, but when our vendor fixed the mistake, Stephanie got them back to us within 48 hours again! Because of her promptness we were able to send out invitations on time! The best part about Stephanie was how she sweet, understanding, and flexible she was! When we picked up our invitations she had a hand written thank you card and some amazing homemade bread. It was such a delightful surprise! She is incredible and I greatly encourage anyone who needs any calligrapher done to go to her! I only wish I had more things to get personalized with calligraphy! I cannot recommend her enough. She was truly amazing!

Katherine recently did the calligraphy for my wedding invitations and I highly recommend her work!…read moreShe was extremely responsive in her email correspondence and established a clear timeline for the invitations. She even gave extra advice, warning me that I was sending my invitations out too early, especially given that I had sent out Save The Dates. Katherine works from her home in Wilmette and working with her was a laid-back yet simultaneously structured and professional experience. What sets Katherine apart is the final product: the calligraphy is beautiful. She's clearly a skilled artist, and a perfectionist as well -- when she saw my wedding invitations, she felt so strongly that the ink on the outer envelopes should be blue rather than black (I had requested black) that she offered to do the colored ink for free (it usually costs more to do colored than to do black). Once she had brought it up, I could see that blue was clearly the better choice for the outer envelopes and I'm grateful that she said something about it! Additionally, Katherine created beautiful personalized cards for my bridesmaids with water color flowers on the outside and a special quote I had selected on the inside. I intend to give my bridesmaids these cards along with their gifts, and I feel that the stunning cards are a gift in and of themselves.

Atlas Stationers? Oh, you mean STATIONARY HEAVEN?…read more On Sunday morning, all was quiet in the West Loop. Around 10 AM (a little after opening), I walked in & was surprised to find a vibrant little community of early-rising, stationery enthusiasts, just my kind of people. The store was lively but not crowded, so shopping was very comfortable and fun. First off, the staff here is PHENOMENAL! So kind, conversational, knowledgeable, helpful, & attentive. Possibly the best customer service I've ever received. If you're a stationary enthusiast or stationary-curious, this is a great place to be. I've seen this store's TikTok account before, so I expected it to be a big chain given its popularity, but it's actually a family-run business since 1939! They even have a nice online store you can check out. Everyone has their preferences, but this store checked all the boxes for me. On top of excellent service, they had an INSANE SELECTION! Stickers, pens, journals, leather journal covers, washi tape, and ALLLL the stationery goodies. The cost is comparable to other stores (online & otherwise), which is great. They even offer frequent events & workshops. Stores like Topdrawer are very popular, but they just never spoke to me. Atlas Stationers is a gem that I can't rave about enough. Even when I'm not in the store, I frequently check out their website or TikTok. I love the little community they've built!
