Given that his eloquence didn't quite match the expression on his face, I thought I'd take over. Lisa did a boudoir photo shoot with me (the photos were a surprise for my husband's birthday). I wanted to write a review because I asked her not to put the photos up on her blog--though I loved them, I wanted to let the pictures remain private to us. However, my experience was absolutely phenomenal. Lisa worked with me for pricing; not only was she one of the only photographers I looked at who included all the photos taken as part of the deliverables included in the original fee (i.e. I don't have to buy photos from her because I will have digital copies of all of them with reprinting rights), but she also was just fine with doing the shoot at a friend of mine's apartment and having another friend do my make-up. Before the shoot, I expressed my concerns about my own body image and fear of not looking "good enough," and Lisa reassured me that it would truly be a fun experience--and it was! When you look at the photos she took, it's hard to believe that Lisa is so young, that she came to the apartment with only a backpack of supplies, and that she somehow managed to make me look like a model! The shots are so diverse--in some, she captured my actual genuine laugh or smile, while in others she found my inner seductress--but every single one is both classy and sexy. My husband is in awe and wants to "shout from the rooftops how hot my wife is"--and I have even been proudly showing them to close friends (which I never thought I'd do!). I cannot recommend Lisa enough--if you're worried about how you might look or feel during a boudoir shoot, have no fears! As my husband said, "see, this is how I see you every day--finally, someone captured that in a photo as proof."

I was so excited she was available for our Sept 2013 wedding and could not wait to meet her. At our initial meeting, we had a lot of fun getting to know it each other and both my husband and I felt comfortable with her right away. This comfort continued into our engagement photo session, which we did in Old Town Alexandria. Lisa had fantastic suggestions on where to go and made ordinary scenery and streets come to life and compliment us. On our wedding day, I had no worries or stress related to the photography, I knew with Lisa's talent and eye in combination with her dedication and passion our photos would be beautiful. When I saw the pictures I was stunned, they are absolutely amazing. She was able to capture the entire day perfectly, the photographs were better then I imagined. We have received so many compliments on our wedding photos and about how much fun our guests had with Lisa throughout the day. Lisa was an absolute pleasure to work with, she is an incredible artist and amazing person. I feel very blessed that we were able to work with her and get to know her. I would not hesitate to recommend her, she is the best!

We needed our home near Mount Vernon photographed and videoed for placing on the MLS for sale, and we were impressed with Lammshots' Profile and photos, plus their videos were outstanding for real estate. In this day and age, finding a photographer and videographer who knows how to make the right calls for the proper shots and have that work not just for social media but for higher-end real estate listings, was important to us. Our last home sale photos were good but we had no videos, and we felt that wasn't as impressive. This time, we were doing the photography portion ourselves, before using an agent to list, and Josh was flexible about the scheduling, despite his international work travels. He was responsive, thorough, a good listener, helped us work through how to photograph the outdoor waterfront property as well as our larger home for sale, and he took the extra time to ensure it was all really polished and in its best final formatting for each item. His pricing is very reasonable, and he'll work with you depending on your needs and what he "sees" when on location, to have it all look its best. We are very pleased with our final products.

There are many photographers to choose from in the DMV but the Team here is top-notch. We had a long list of VIPs that needed posed photos and Laura organized and produced beautiful photos of them all. Laura is very kind, professional and goes above and beyond to make sure her clients are well taken care of... even down to providing flexibility in the scheduling the headshot marathon. Her calm demeanor and sweet spirit made it a stress-free and positive experience for everyone especially those who did not enjoy being photographed.

I would not recommend trusting Laura to be your wedding day photographer. She is a pleasant person…read moreand her work in a controlled, one-on-one environment such as an engagement shoot is good. On our wedding day, I was disappointed beyond words with Laura. I will start with the fact that she LOST more than an hour of photos. This included pictures of my husband going table to table during the reception taking individual pictures with our guests, our cake cutting, and our sparkler exit. How she compensated for losing our wedding photos... Six weeks to the day Laura delivered the photos as stated in the contract. At this time she was forthcoming about the loss of photos and offered an offensively low refund. Which I explained to her that we could not accept this for the following reasons--we spent more time taking pictures with our guests, going table to table, than enjoying the latter part our reception because we had many guests travel from distant places. And we wanted to send those pictures to them with thank you notes. The cake photos, sparklers exit, and group photos outside the venue are disappointing to be lost but all those photos of us and numerous guests at the reception was an irreplaceable loss. Her final offer was to refund 9.89% of our invoiced amount, not good enough. My other huge gripe with her wedding day performance was she had no command or direction over the photos with large parties at all. I would suggest that you would need to have a wedding planner to work with her because she is unable to take charge and work towards achieving the photos you list as the "must-have" shots. Laura excels in outdoor photos with natural light and no need for a flash, which look natural, and candids. On the final photos that were delivered, many of our indoor photos had no consistency in hues, warmth, and brightness. I was washed out in many of the "directed" indoor photos at our church, because of the flash. We brought this to her attention and she was very responsive in being willing to do the edits, but the edits were horrific, thoughtless, unusable changes.

Wedding planning is stressful enough, but finding a reasonably priced photographer with a nice portfolio proved to be a challenge. As with many things with our wedding, everything just fell into place. After seeing Claudia's photos of a mutual friend, I reviewed her blog and reached out to her with a few questions. A couple weeks later, Claudia and her husband Peter met with me and my fiance' to discuss our vision for engagement and wedding photos. They were very supportive of our ideas. Besides incorporating what we wanted, they went above and beyond to ensure that we had great pictures. Prior to our engagement session, I shared pictures of locations in Old Town Alexandria and talked with Claudia a few times by phone and email. They even recommended some places. The photos came out great, and we loved so many of the shots. A couple weeks before the wedding, Claudia and Peter were nice enough to meet with us to find good shooting locations in our venue and in the nearby area. The shots from the wedding were incredible! Our family had a very negative experience with Claudia Dalton Photography (CDP), so I am using this…read moreforum as a means of expressing my feelings on the matter to share my feedback with other folks looking to acquire professional photography services. This is not meant to be a personal diatribe against Claudia as I feel that she really is a nice person, however this is the only means that we I have to voice our displeasure and share information that may aid another person or couple. We contracted CDP to provide two photography sessions, one for a pregnancy shoot, and another for after the baby was born. It seemed to be explained to me that we were receiving a bundled discount for services, and from my perspective, that other perks such as a hair dresser / makeup artist were included as part of the deal. Our family has hired photographers in the past, and the typical arrangement is that we pay the agreed upon fee for the photographer's time and a quantity of included digital picture files and / or prints. CDP does not operate in this fashion however as all of the digital files or prints resulting from your photo shoot are purchased separately on a strictly ala carte basis. The long story short of it is that we signed a contract with CDP for $300.00 for our two photo shoots, and then realized after the fact that we could not afford the ala carte pricing for any of their products. This was extremely distressing to us as we are a young family, and a luxury item such as this is something that we have to carefully budget and plan for. To invest $300.00 and come away with no real product is very upsetting. We expressed our concern to CDP, saying that we could not afford their products, and asked for half of our money back (we had just completed the first photography session and would not be seeking to schedule the second). CDP refused to meet us half way however, the tact taken from their party was more of a, "Well that's too bad, I am sorry that this didn't work out better for you." That response added insult to injury. From our perspective, CDP failed in the following respects: 1.       Clear Communication: CDP did not send their company policies, business practices, pricing list, etc. in one clear concise email. Some of these details (such as a pricing list) are not made available for reference on their website or are even in their contract. If I piece together the 5 or so emails that we exchanged with CDP, I can understand more fully how her business works... however the reality is that life (and my life) has many demands on it and if something isn't spelled out clearly and succinctly, I may interpret it or fail to comprehend it clearly. I should have looked into that string of emails that we exchanged more closely, and in retrospect asked more questions... but I also feel that CDP can do a better job of explaining their business practices to folks who have no familiarity with them.   2.       Value: CDP's prices are much higher than ANY other photographer that I have ever worked with. For example, the cheapest print offered was $75.00 and 20 digital files ... were $2,100.00. That is almost as much as I spent for the entirety of our wedding pictures. If CDP were a celebrity photographer, or had the portfolio to command such a high fee, I suppose that would be one thing, however there is nothing about CDP's work to suggest that her fee should be head and shoulders higher than other photographers in the area.   3.       Customer Service: As a client, I will own my share of the guilt in our negative experience, that I failed to properly understand CDP's business practices and prices before signing our contract. I should have read more carefully through our correspondence and asked more questions. However, when our family voiced our concerns, that we could not afford her work, and that we had backed ourselves into an unfortunate corner, we were met with absolutely no empathy. CDP was polite but refused to do anything for us that might improve our otherwise unfortunate position. The reality is if CDP had even tried to work with us a little... perhaps refund part of our $150? Offer some untouched digitals? A Print? Something? Had their response been anything other than "Well that's too bad", we could have walked away from this transaction feeling somewhat whole. Instead, we feel like we spent $300.00 and received next to nothing to show for it. Claudia is not a bad person, if anything, she is inexperienced with the business aspect of her part time photography venture. Maybe she'll take some of the lessons learned from our encounter and use them to better her practice. Either way, our family will not be using her services in the future and cannot recommend them to anyone else.
