All I can say is WOW!! This place is phenomenal to say the least. I bought the most incredible vintage dress, earrings and shoes here for my upcoming event. The gentleman that helped me was so sweet. A friend of mine saw my dress and had me come back with her the very next day to do more shopping. The hardest part was not being able to purchase EVERYTHING in the shop! Lol, seriously they have the cutest stuff and very unique items. Thank you for great customer service and I will be returning. This is definitely my new favorite shop. read more

Kathy's E Boutique has inconsistent opening times. I went here today, around 4 PM on a Saturday exactly, only to find that it's closed. On Google, it says that this boutique closes at 5 PM. It's disappointing and annoying that they don't follow through with their own hours. If they just what to close when ever they want, might as well not even have as schedule up on Google. However, this doesn't mean that it's a entirely bad store. I'd love to see what this boutique has to offer -- something I can't do unless the hours are correct, though. I was driving down Magnolia Blvd. on my way to Burbank when I stumbled upon this wonderful little vintage boutique. They specialize in Vintage Clothing that dates from the early 1900's to late 1980's. I purchased a great western men's shirt that is truly a one-of-a-kind item you would only stumble upon in a quality vintage store. With great finds, wonderful customer service, and a super clean atmosphere, I left a very satisfied customer. read more

Although a rather small store (I keep having the unpleasant experience of running into racks or other customers and awkwardly try to maneuver around them); Kathy's still has a special charm to it. I'm a vintage expert having done vintage modeling and have my own extensive collection so I know a good vintage store. Kathy's isn't the best option but I still think that you can find a special goodie in the store. Kathy's offers dresses, jackets, purses, jewelry, shoes, etc. I especially enjoy the shoe and purse selection. The prices are somewhat high and unfortunately, not every item in there is real vintage but that is where the term "boutique" comes in. The staff is very kind, offering suggestions on what to pair with your selections and also recognize me from previous trips and compliment whatever I wear as I stroll into the store. Overall, it is a cute store to visit and a pleasant environment. I just wish it was bigger and prices were slightly lower. read more

Kathy's boutique has been around for 20 years!!! let me just start there, this place is a staple in our neighborhood! and one of the only places you can come to and find out just about any play or what to do or not do in the area. The owners are just down right authentically genuine people who have a flare for picking some of the most unique and fashionable vintage clothing you will see anywhere in LA. I love this place I want to buy everything in it (if I could) It is a wardrobe stylist dream, and a fashionistas place to go to find that one piece that make your outfit pop! I always loved North Hollywood. This is one of the better places to go to when your looking for vintage items for any occasion. Kathy is great, she knows how to treat her customers as family rather than just your average customer. The wife and I went in looking for a few items, and felt right at home. It was as if you went to a friends house, hung out, and spoke about old times. The bonus coming to this store, is that they have some great items ranging from clothing to jewelry. Have been trying to see this store for the past 3 weeks. Every time I come the store is closed. I've come during the days and hours listed online and then come during the days and hours listed over the voice recording when you call the store (which are different by the way). I've tried every day during the week except Tuesday. I'm not sure how one expects to do business this way but I give up on trying to shop here. read more

I was spending the day with my mom and checking out various thrift stores around the area. We were on our way to another store when we saw Kathy's Boutique and decided to go in. Talk about customer service! All three owners of the shop greeted us the minute we walked in. Made sure to tell us about any sales they had and assured us that nothing is 'set in stone'. I'm a sucker for vintage shoes from the 20's and 30's era, and it's so hard to find a pair that are wearable. The moment I saw the shoe selection, I was in love! Not only were they in near mint condition, but I could actually buy a pair without having to go hungry for a month! The women here are so helpful, and they even offered to help me find out more about a label on a dress I own. They definitely go above and beyond for their customers. Ever seen that movie "The Sweetest Thing," with Cameron Diaz & Christina Applegate? There's a scene where they make it up to San Francisco for Peter's wedding and they get their outfits from a unique boutique after they get doused in toilet water........ Walking into Kathy E's was DEJA VU of that movie scene (no waste water included) The nice owner kindly greeted me and encouraged me to try on these black patent leather boots I had been eyeing. They were too small, but then my eyes caught the Jim Morrison poster to my right.....one I had never seen before...one that outlined Jim's aura. "Never seen one like it before and ITS NOT FOR SALE," said Ms. Owner with a smile. I had no time to be sad because my eyes immediately were distracted by a pink Frederick's of Hollywood baby doll hanging in the right corner. It was reminiscent of the get-up one of those hot, blonde, robot villan chicks was wearing from Austin Powers. I passed it up, but the Corsets were cheap, real and to die for. The fur hats were fabulous, the cheetah outfit outside was fabulous, and all those pea coats and military garbs were fabulous. I was wandering around North Hollywood, unfamiliar with the area, when I saw a few bright vintage dresses out on the sidewalk in front of Kathy's - they brought me in. What kept me in the store, though, besides its cozy smallness and pleasantly overwhelmingly large selection, was the total kindness and courtesy of Kathy herself and her business partner. The two women were happy to chat, both about the store as well as themselves, offered plenty of help without being at all pushy, and happily let me take photos for my blog. I tried on a few items but did not purchase anything. Prices range from $40 for basic blouses and up; I picked up a pair of cowboy boots but they were out of my budget at $100. If I had been searching for a particular vintage item, I would have been more than happy to spend my money here. read more

Original post: My best pieces and the ones I get the most compliments on have come from this store; and I can be sure that no one else has the same thing on when I step out. I love the feel of the place because even though it is small, it feels cozy and the stuff is well organized, not a mess like other places. The store ladies are really nice; I was there once during "prom season" and they really helped the kids find things within their budget. They have vintage from the 20's to the 80's. I saw this girl buy this awesome pink Madonna - think "Like a virgin" era for her prom. She was soo happy! I used to live in the Valley, but I don't mind making the trek over the hill for their coat selection or when I need a one of a kind hat, pursue or jewelery. It was my first time coming here the other day and I came up on a beautiful vintage necklace. I love the whole vintage look so once I heard about this place I wanted to go check it. I admit that I came into this store by pure chance! Me and my friend were looking for another store and happened to notice Kathy's. We wander in and were greeted by Kathy. I wish the store was bigger and Im sure she wishes it was bigger too, but its very nice and homey! The first thing she said to us was make your self at home! I didn't really know what to look for but I fell in love with this cute black dress! It was 1930 piece and I tried it on. It fit me like a glove! She asked me If i was going to wear it for anything special and I said my friend is having a party and I needed to dress in 1920/1930's wear. So she gladly helped me get some accessories. There was an earring that i loved too and it was clip on (my ears arent pierced) She took my number so when they find it they can give me a call. Its hard to find vintage shops with excellent customer service and a family atmosphere. I found a beautiful pair of Victorian style boots in beautiful like new condition. Kathy gave me a great price on them and wrapped them up in yellow tissue paper to match my purse. The other women who treated me like a star were so friendly and helpful. I couldn't have been more excited and lucky to have stumbled across Kathy and her incredible shop full of treasures! The moment you walk into this vintage filled wonderland.... Not only does Kathy greet you with open arms she tells you to come on in and make yourself at home!! And you do without question. As a fashion stylist and editor- I'm always looking for "good" vintage stores... (No 90s grunge flannels and 80s polyester blouses need not apply)... But stunning patchwork leather jackets and 1960s Sargent pepper style coats line the walls! Hats - oh the stunning hats!! And her price points are not only incredibly reasonable- if you're looking at a few pieces deeply puzzled, Kathy warmly tells you to not even fret she'll make sure to give you a great deal- and she does!! I'm in shock of my incredible magenta hat with pearl beading and a large bow on the back she let me have for $10!!! I looked at her with my jaw dropped, and she sweetly and honestly replied, well sweetheart it looks amazing on you and there are some pearls missing (she had to show me even the minuscule detail of a few that I squealed in delight leaving with not just a hat... I found the cutest 70s dress from here (it looked like what Debbie Harry wore when she sung "Heart of Glass") . I found this shop when I first moved to LA and was going to school for Fashion Design. I was in love with vintage and was totally in heaven when I walked into Kathy's E. Boutique. It was such a hidden gem - because of the vintage and because of the owners :). Kathy and Ernestine are the biggest sweet hearts :). Rather than being a one-time customer, I became a regular and Kathy and Ernestine took their time to teach me about vintage - such a blessing for a fashion design student! These ladies have been in the fashion industry for years, including work on film and television. I've been going to this AMAZING shop for 7 years now, and I ultimately walk out "a happy camper"! I don't think this other person, who wrote the only other review, was aware of her surroundings. Kathy and Ernestine's boutique is located in the NoHo Arts District, across the street and a few doors down from one of the Academy Awards buildings, which is a treat in itself - So, besides being fun, the neighborhood is upscale and improving. I'm a size 14-16 and wear a 10 shoe. I've found a lot of clothing here, including gorgeous gloves, shoes, handbags, hats and some great jewelry! And not just for myself... A good range here (of different sizes). Both owners are very nice women, very helpful and informed. They know their stuff! And if "you" do, you'll have a great visit, also! Enjoy!! read more

I loved this little shop and the owners too! Late in the afternoon on the eve of Halloween last year, my young adult son announced that he needed a pair of black lace-up boots to complete his costume for a party he would be attending later that evening. I told him he had a fat chance of finding what he needed at this late stage of the game. But said I would take him to some vintage shops on Magnolia Blvd. to give it a shot. We raced to the most obvious shops, the ones with loads of costumes on display outside on the sidewalk......and as I had figured.....we found nothing. What we did find were high prices, disinterested sales help and security guards at the entrances. Then, on a whim, we stumbled on Kathy's. True, it was small but the attitude was completely different from the other shops. The owners were eager to help us and while I felt overwhelmed by the stuff crammed in this little place, the owners knew exactly what they had and where to find it. Understanding that we had little time, one of them ran to the back of the shop, behind the public area to look for the boots she thought she had. Then, amazingly, the other owner, found a pair in great condition, on the floor of the store, hidden beneath a tightly packed rack of clothes. They were exactly what my son was looking for and incredibly they were his exact size. They had no price tag on them, but the ladies priced them fairly even knowing that we were desperate and that the boots fit. They could have said any price.....but they were fair and we were pleased to do business with them. I love these ladies. I have even brought them some merchandise for their store....and gladly returned the kindness they extended to me. I want to see this place thrive. They deserve to make it. since someone, we won't mention who, removed my last review, i will just place it again. and again i do agree that the store is small, but its a good small, like your own walk in closet to go play in. and yes most of their clothing is for smaller women but i, as a male have found several good finds for myself from cowboy boots to shirts. i always have a good time when i go there they are not pushy at all. they always, when i am there, greet the customers sort of as follows, they ask if they have been there before and if they have they say welcome back and if its a first timer they say to just dive in, hats fall hangers break and to just ask if they need help. if you don't see what your looking for just ask, they have tons of stuff in the back room and if they don't have it they will suggest where it might be found. by the way the real and fun person just might find themselves getting a good deal as the snobby person with a bad attitude will not no i don't work there so just stop by and have some fun and tell them aaron sent you read more

This store is quite hard to find, located in a very inconspicuous storefront, on a commercial block of North Hollywood, not far from the downtown shopping area of Burbank. Once inside, this dark, shoebox of a store is crammed with mainly women's and some men's vintage clothing, shoes and all sorts of accessories. It seems that they carry items from the 40s through about the present, with most of the merchandise being from the latter years. There is a large amount of merchandise, mainly dresses (casual and formal), skirts, and shoes. The racks are so jam packed, and are thus hard to look at the pieces, and the pieces are often are missing tags showing size (often rather small!) or price (usually, rather reasonable!). Also, do note that the era of the piece is unmarked. The ladies who work in the store are friendly, but can be slightly pushy and forceful when it comes to purchasing, so be prepared. Also, be sure to come when you are not in a rush, as the single dressing room and slowness/chattiness of the service often produces a holdup. The items themselves are in good condition and clean, but for some reason, I never find much in here. But, for vintage shoes, the store carries quite a large stock, and carries shoes in fitting and larger sizes, so it is definitely worth it to check those out. My good friend did find a gorgeous vintage cigarette case, though! Do stop by if you are coming back from a vintage shopping extravaganza on Magnolia, but it is not worth it to make the trek here just for this store.
