My 12 year old daughter had her cleaning and check up last week. They found 2 cavities on her…read moreupper teeth on both sides. They told me I would need to schedule 2 separate appointments because of her age and it "wasn't safe" to numb both sides of her mouth in one visit. She went today for the first visit and apparently the dentist decided to just get them both taken care of at the same time. When his assistant brought my daughter out to the waiting room she said "just keep an eye on her if she eats because her face is still numb". No word about having both filled. My daughter told me she felt that they filled both sides. My daughter said the dentist mentioned she would need a root canal. No one mentioned any of this to me. I have been going to this practice for a few years and always felt comfortable and informed. Today was not handled appropriately and I will be looking for a new practice moving forward.

Due to recessed gums, I needed resin to be placed to fill in the space on two teeth. He filled them in and the color didn't even match my teeth. Thank God the teeth were on the side of my mouth so you really can't see them. Each tooth is now two different colors. With that, he didn't even smooth the resin. He just put the clumps of resin on the teeth and sent me on my way. I had to go to my new dentist and have them smooth it out for me. I heard that some dentists are cheap so they only buy a couple of shades of the resin and they use the one closest to your tooth color. I think all he cares about is making money. Definitely does not care about patients.

A Five-Star Oral Surgeon…read more Whoever heard of a person looking forward to a tooth extraction? I was referred to Dr. Chaudhry's practice by my regular dentist, Dr. Kenneth Chiusano, for the extraction of my #2 tooth (way in the back of my mouth.) Needless to say, being referred to an oral surgeon is nerve-racking enough but what I experienced at the initial consult and then finally the extraction, warrants a review of very high praise. Firstly, the entire staff is beyond professional and personable. They take the necessary time to explain everything to you in a professional and caring manner so there are no surprises, financially or otherwise. The day of the extraction arrived and I found myself feeling very comfortable and confident about the procedure. You could actually say I was looking forward to returning to Dr. Chaudhry's office to see him and his staff again. The staff and medical assistants were equally wonderful. The procedure was quick and over before I knew it and it turned out I had nothing to worry about at all. Dr. Chaudhry's experience, coupled with his gentleness and genuine care, are also equally noteworthy. My recovery was easier than I imagined and the doctor even called me personally that evening after I left a message for him after the practice had closed when I needed to ask a question. If you're looking for an oral surgeon and live in the Poconos, I suggest you look no further because you have found the right doctor for the job. You won't regret it. A huge shout out to these consummate professionals -- Dr. Chaudhry, and his office manager, Destiny, and colleagues Tiffany, Amanda, Christine, Tasha, Asha, Kristine and Ally. Suddenly after 15 years of patient loyalty, because of a missed appointment (that we did not make) they needed POA from me and needed to "review her documents". More details and timeline: I would not recommend this office. Despite the doctor being listed as in-network with my insurance, I was told repeatedly over multiple phone calls that they didn't accept it. I wasn't even asking them to bill my insurance directly -- I just needed them to sign a form documenting the work so I could submit it to my insurance myself. I was told the dentist would not sign the paper because the practice did not work with my insurance. (the only in-network within an hour of me) Appointment 1: Initial exam and x-rays for my 4-year-old son. I paid about $100 out of pocket, no issues. I asked again about signing the insurance form. No resolution. "I will ask" Appointment 2: Major dental work on one side of his mouth. I came in prepared to pay out of pocket and was fine with the estimated cost. All I still needed was that signed paper, which I had been told they would not sign. That's when, for the first time after all those phone calls and a prior visit, someone finally said they'd check with their insurance person. While my son was already in the chair and in the middle of treatment -- screaming and crying in pain -- and after I had already paid $1,200, they told me they would actually take my insurance. Appointment 3: Major dental work on the other side of his mouth. The assistant casually said, "We'll wait a little longer for the anesthesia to kick in this time" -- confirming they were aware my son had not been properly numbed during the previous procedure and performed the work anyway. Appointment 4: Six months later, I returned with both of my children -- my now 5-year-old son and my 3-year-old daughter -- for their checkups/cleanings. My stepdaughter, who is 21 and in dental hygiene school, needed a pediatric patient for her clinical credits, so she would handle my son's cleaning. All I needed from the dentist was the exam so she could sign off on my son's school forms for public school. They refused to do the exam unless I also agreed to x-rays and a cleaning -- even though he had already had x-rays within the last six months and cleanings are not recommended more frequently than every six months. My son's appointment was canceled. We continued with my 3-year-old daughter's appointment. When we got to the back, the dental chair was broken. Rather than calling ahead to let us know or rescheduling, they cleaned my daughter's teeth while she sat in my lap. Had the dentist simply examined my son that day, they would have seen the abscess -- an infection caused by a bad root canal that they performed. Instead, it was a dentist at my stepdaughter's dental school who later found it. Between the insurance runaround, my child being in pain due to inadequate anesthesia, a botched root canal, refusing to examine him unless I agreed to unnecessary services, and cleaning my toddler's teeth in my lap because of a broken chair, I cannot in good conscience recommend this practice.

Dr. Wert has just opened an office in Hellertown. I went to him because he was using the offices…read morethat my old dentist had used. I was so pleasantly surprised. I had been to my old dentist twice already because of pain on one side of my mouth. He took x-rays and examined me both times, but could never find anything. So I mentioned the pain to Dr. Wert. It took him five minutes to see what was wrong. He gently tapped on a couple of teeth--no pain--and then when he tapped on the third one it was clear he'd found the source of the pain. I had a crown on that tooth, and Dr. Wirt told me there was infection under the crown. He would have to remove it and clear out the infection. I was so relieved to know what was causing the pain, and that it could be fixed. I'm so glad he opened an office in Hellertown. Oh, and the office staff was very pleasant and helpful too.

This place was recommended to me by a family member who also said the front desk person was rude but everyone else was pleasant in the facility. Not a place that I want to spend my money AT ALL.
