My 12 year old daughter had her cleaning and check up last week. They found 2 cavities on her upper teeth on both sides. They told me I would need to schedule 2 separate appointments because of her age and it "wasn't safe" to numb both sides of her mouth in one visit. She went today for the first visit and apparently the dentist decided to just get them both taken care of at the same time. When his assistant brought my daughter out to the waiting room she said "just keep an eye on her if she eats because her face is still numb". No word about having both filled. My daughter told me she felt that they filled both sides. My daughter said the dentist mentioned she would need a root canal. No one mentioned any of this to me. I have been going to this practice for a few years and always felt comfortable and informed. Today was not handled appropriately and I will be looking for a new practice moving forward. read more

Absolutely horrible. Dr. Terrary barely said hello to me and didn't talk for the whole time I was there. Just by the way he works on you, you can tell he is in a rush. Due to recessed gums, I needed resin to be placed to fill in the space on two teeth. He filled them in and the color didn't even match my teeth. Thank God the teeth were on the side of my mouth so you really can't see them. Each tooth is now two different colors. With that, he didn't even smooth the resin. He just put the clumps of resin on the teeth and sent me on my way. I had to go to my new dentist and have them smooth it out for me. I heard that some dentists are cheap so they only buy a couple of shades of the resin and they use the one closest to your tooth color. I think all he cares about is making money. Definitely does not care about patients. read more

I've had an overall good experience here except a few things stand out to me. The doctor rarely interacts with you and can be very fast with his work which makes it sloppy sometimes. Also, it seems very likely they lie about the actual amount of work you need done to your teeth! I have some teeth that look fine to the eye and even looked fine on the x-ray. This guy has been messing with my head. I don't trust him. He's always trying to sell me veneers and caps and at my last cleaning, the hygienist barely touched my teeth. Dr Barber was fabulous; I miss that he is no longer with the Terrary's practice! He knows that I am a Medicaid patient and that I do not have the money for veneers and caps. I was referred to Dr Terrery some people are in business just to be in business. However he was a cut above the norm his staff was very friendly and well knowledgeable. I am self employed he knew my pain and was able to make my pain comfort manageable and he also put me on a structured plan to make it easy for me especially with the carnivorous scare going on. I went to look at my bill he even gave me a courtesy credit . Not only is he Top notch his customer service skills are the best I have experienced ever . If I could give a 0 star rating, I would. Worst dentist and staff I've encountered in 54 years of life. Office staff is rude, uncaring, too busy to help, lacks followup, and just plain not professional. Dentist has no personality and always says you need more dental work when you don't. Wants to replace old work every couple of years, even though insurance would never cover it. I would not even recommend this office to an enemy. This was the first time my 7 year old son visited Terrery Dental. Since a youngster he has been terrified of the dentist. This day at the dentist he was so upset to try out our new dentist. I have been to other dentists in the areas of the Poconos, and they all "find" issues with your teeth and end your visit with a list of problems with your teeth ending with a crazy large total. But not with Dr. Tererrery. I went for a cleaning and x-rays. Afterward the hygienist did that, Dr. Terrery looked at my teeth thoroughly and said all is good and we scheduled my next cleaning. He was honest and not money hungry. I also had a partial and he told me that my insurance would cover me for one so we put in a preauthorization form for another partial as a backup just in case something happens to the one I have. I had a filling to be done, pretty big one. Office staff was great but my experience horrible. He did my filling in less than 10 minutes, while having a conversation with the nurse, he was very rude and didn't seem to care about what he was doing. Just another quick unimportant procedure. Then tells me I'm done, but the new filling was so sharp it will cut your mouth, so I tried telling him to fix it. He did and then like a big child said " You happy now" again I felt rushed, unimportant. As if my teeth didn't matter to him. That filling still bothers me to this day. Never ever go to him. Use to come here all the time in high school (2009), I once witnessed Dr. Terrery throw my file at one of his dental hygienist...he once screamed at me because I jumped because without warning he opened my mouth and stuck a needle in! Then When my mother came into the room because i began to cry..he try and play nice and down play the situation !! -*had to rare it a one, when in reality, he's a -100*- I had been visiting this office for a couple years, and today I have had enough. I absolutely do not recommend anyone waste the time nor money, and god, do I mean money, this man is a financial LEACH in every sense of the word, and he is most certainly not worth it. I was going to get a simple bridge done, to place a implant tooth, and without my consent, any warning, and ANY explanation this man drilled out my front tooth, and the tooth two teeth down, and after TWO WEEKS of waiting after being told only that I would feel "sensitivity" which I wasn't given anything to help with the pain, it turned into a full blown infection to the point that I went a week, and a half without food due to the severe aching/agonizing pain. I finally had my appointment today, and let me tell you what I was told "you shouldn't have an infection" *does X-ray* "you need to get a root canal" which I was expected to pay for..? Not only could he not admit his fault, and his mistake this COWARD ran and hid to have his receptionist, assistant's, and whoever else make excuses for him. I was told the infection that I was originally told that I "shouldn't have had" was due to the fact that I had braces more than four years ago, and that the roots were affected by that, and let me say if that was the case and not an excuse he whispered to his assistant to repeat because he can not nor will not look you in the face when he epically F***'S up, why was it not taking into consideration when he unlawfully drilled and PERMANENTLY DAMAGED TWO OF MY TEETH. I do plan to go to another dentist to fix this pathetic excuse for a "oral doctor's" mistake, and it will not be the one he recommended, it will be outside his circle, and when I get the opinion proving that he is in the wrong, he will be held accountable. Also, I wanted the root canal, but I was told after they had already offered it to me I had to go elsewhere because he was too intimidated to do the procedure himself. Those of you considering going to this man, look through the rest of the reviews on this page, because apparently it's very common for him to inflict pain, and infections without any consent, and he hides from all of us.. Also, his actions lead to horrible root canals quite often.. I just found my new dentist! I needed to have a Maryland Bridge re-cemented being that it is my front tooth. They took me in within days of requesting an appointment. The staff there is very friendly and the doctor was able to help me in what needed to be done. I don't have insurance at the moment, but the cost was very reasonable. When I do have my dental insurance kicked in, I will be back to Terrery Dental because of their excellent service. I was in and out in no time. I've already recommended this dentist to my mom and father and will be going to them instead of Aspen Dental which is a complete joke compared to the professionals at Terrery Dental. I was pleased with my experience at Terrery Dental. They were organized, on time, efficient, and the treatment was thorough. Everyone was nice and helpful. The atmosphere was nice (quiet and not crowded). I especially liked the private office and individualized treatment, as opposed to the "dental groups", AND the fact that there was no what I call "bait and switch", meaning you spend hours researching dentists in the area online, their reviews, etc. and then you go to the office and end up seeing a complete stranger anyway --- their partner, assistant or trainee, and NEVER see the original person. I am SO SORRY I went there. Went for crown consultation, but Dr Terrery found 3 cavities that he suggested to get filled. The staff never called my insurance to check for X Ray eligibility and did the Xray anyway, insurance declined, and I received the bill from the office for $160. I had bargain with Dr Terrery to not have to pay. On the next visit, he filled all 3 cavities in 30 min. He said during the process that he had to drill one deeper then normal. These teeth did not bother me before, but after the fillings were put in, they are all sensitive and the one that he had to "drill deeper" now hurts and I need medication to cope. I will need a root canal now b/c of my visit at the office. The office manager is very unpleasant. She told me that doctor does not call patients back when I asked to speak with the Doc. I really liked getting appointments quickly, fast friendly service, but the quality left a lot to be desired. Thing like filling that were not smooth, and made flossing difficult. Replaced a filling and now it hurts when I floss that tooth. But the end of the line was when I had a root canal and a cap put on in September, and the tooth broke off in April. I had to have the tooth pulled and am now paying for a three unit bridge. I went back to my previous dentist and asked him what happened. He told me that the tooth was filled with regular white filling, not a post as is customary. Last month I received a bill for $500.00 and I am not paying it as my position is that he owes me for the $1,100.00 out of pocket that I am paying to repair his work. read more

I went there once looking for good dentist. Front desk staff girl is rude and inattentive. She tried to charge me $400 for service which is free according to my insurance. After being their regular customer for six years, I recently missed one appointment and upon returning from our vacation, received a letter from Terrery Dental saying: we are sending this letter to inform you that any further missing appointments, will result in you being billed for the appointment or possible dismissal from the practice. That's pretty theatrical and dramatic for stating possible dismissal from their practice. When I expressed my displeasure of the language to the office lady who answered the phone, i was immediately answered by recorded music. Pretty sad and disappointed by this experience. Dr Terrery is without question the worst dentist I have used in my 45 years. What was supposed to be a filling turned into a root canal without consultation and without me realizing it until after he had already begun. Four appointments later I can not manage the pain without now taking Tylenol 3 and 800mg of ibuprofen together. When I called his office to ask what could be done in regards to the pain, he refused to come to the phone or call me back, but sent a message through the receptionist that the tooth was a longshot to make it anyway, and I should go find someone to pull it out. So after tons of time and money, I am in constant pain and need to find an oral surgeon to fix the mess created by Dr Terrery. read more

Dr. Terrery has been our Family Dentist since he started his Practice in Bartonsville. We had just moved here and wanted to find a Dentist that was as good as our Dentist back home . Our first encounter with Dr. Terrery was for my then 9 year old Daughter who had a small jaw and very crowded teeth. Dr Terrery supervised her care for a year while we coordinated with the Oral Surgeon and Orthodontist; to insure that the end result with her teeth was better than satisfactory; today, at 26, she has a smile that is perfection. He pays so much attention to detail that I also recall how picky he was about a partial bridge he did for me, making sure we had the right color, etc to insure that no one would notice that it was a false front tooth. As of late, after Dr. Terrery telling me for years that I was experiencing bone loss, I had to undergo the ordeal of extracting all my teeth and getting dentures. I had beautiful teeth but no bone to hold them in. as I stated, I knew this was going to happen because Dr. Terrery had warned me about it for years. During the two appointments for the extractions, I didn' t even know that the procedure was done! I had no pain at all during either time; he is very good at making sure the mouth is numb before starting any procedure! Also, I knew before hand what my Insurance was going to cover and had no surprises on the Financial end of things. Dr. Terrery explained everything to me beforehand and kept me updated during the procedure. The road to my new smile started about a year ago, Dr. Terrery worked closely with me on my plan for functionality and vanity. This past week, he completed the insertion of Mini-Implants to anchor my lower Dentures. As usual, he explained everything to me beforehand and during the procedure. Although the procedure involves drilling holes to place the implants, I felt nothing during the procedure except for a little pressure. The office even called to check on me later that evening. I would recommend anyone to Terrery Dental! Dr. Terrery keeps up with continuing education in order to offer his Patients all that modern dentistry has to offer and his staff is friendly and professional. Terrery Dental now has a another family member as a Patient, my 5 year old Grandson! He loves going there, Dr. Terrery is very good with him as well as his Dental Hygienist ! My Grandson actually looks forward to his Dental visits! In closing, I am appalled by the negative feedback on some of these sites. He wouldn't tell me what he was doing, stuck needles in my mouth and filled cavities without warning or informing me, and ignored a cavity that I later discovered two months after seeing him. How did I find out I had a cavity? I noticed a large hole in my tooth - no way that happened in two months. Had to have a root canal on that tooth, now I need another root canal on a tooth he did a shoddy filling on. For my sister's first cavity he jammed a needle into her mouth too without telling her what he was doing, and then kicked us out of the office for getting upset about it. This dentist is horrible, they forced me to pay $163.00 for a visit after they put a crown on my tooth and it got infected. The office said, if I don't pay this bill they would put me into a collection agency. I don't believe that I owed this bill because in my opinion something is not right causing the infection. He must attempt to attract new patients because so many are dissatisfied they don't return. I spent well over a year in pain after receiving treatment from this "dentist".
