Call 1: Approximately 11am - I am immediately asked if I would like to hold. Sure, no problem, I'll hold. 10 minutes pass without a single "we'll be right with you". I hang up. I am now irritated. Call 2: Approximately 2pm the same day. The phone is answered by a woman who talks to me for about 15 seconds, and then puts me on hold. 11 minutes and 33 seconds pass. I hang up. I am now pissed and decide to Yelp my lovely experience. Dear Dr. Hamel, You may be a lovely dentist, but you need to teach your staff how to handle phone calls. But today me and my lovely wife were very impressed with Dr. Hamel's office. Just go...you will not regret it. I have been to a few dentist in the Poconos, and not one tops Dr. Hamel and her staff. I was greeted by a very professional and friendly receptionist named Maureen. Shortly after I was called to the back by Dental Hygienist (Mindy) who took my x-rays and did a cleaning. I have been to many dentist in my life, I have to tell you Mindy is an artist with her hands and dental tools. I have to also mention another Dental Hygienist (Sandy) that took care of my wife. Both Sandy and Mindy were true professionals and are very good with their tools. Dr. Hamel..so gentle and honest. Integrity and trust is paramount when choosing a dentist. She examined me, addressed all my concerns and explained a needed procedure very well. Make an appointment and see for yourself. I only have on MAJOR complaint - not going to this dentist before today. I have lived very near to the Doctors office and it took me 10 years to get into the office (my fault). Don't make the same mistake as me and go see Dr. Hamel for your next dental visit. Thank you Dr. Hamel, Mindy, Sandy and Maureen. I've had deep cleanings before whenever…read moreI've had to change dentists due to moving, etc. My recent dentist had me on a regimen that was working very well where I had a teeth cleaning every three months and didn't require a deep cleaning. However, when I moved Summit Smiles wanted me to get a deep cleaning despite my numbers suggesting my teeth / gums were in good shape due to my regimen. In any event, I agreed to just get in with a dentist. They told me my x-rays may not be covered by my insurance. I agreed to that too. I get a bill from them for $71.00 for a comprehensive oral examination plus I now need to spend over $200 for deep cleanings. When I call them, the girl immediately had attitude and had to ask me my name twice and over talked me. She actually tried to project that I was the one overtalking her (lol). I could not get a word in edgewise and she just kept telling me I have to call the insurance company. They aren't the ones billing me. I hung up on her because she was just extra rude and I was not being heard. I called the insurance company to find out THEY FAILED TO LET THEM KNOW I WAS A NEW PATIENT so that is why I was being billed for the comprehensive oral examination. So they made the mistake. Needless to say, I just wanted a teeth cleaning. I didn't need a deep cleaning despite them forcing it on me. I live two hours from my previous dentist and will return to them until I find an honest dentist and one who doesn't have rude receptionists with attitude. They lost a patient and it is sad the people who answer their phones is the cause. It appears from other reviews I am not the first one this has happened to.

The staff has many times gone above and beyond for me and actually are just nice and caring people. which is the result of good hiring practices. Their team of dentists are exemplary. The operation is growing in terms of technology and while I'm sure that this increases cost, it also increases a better level of dental care, which is something that I personally care about as it impacts our general health. I highly recommend MPDC.

I waited over half hour and asked if i was going to be seen soon as i need to return to work and she said "I need to check everybody else in first" I then asked for the deposit that i paid back so that I can go elsewhere and she did not care at all just told another employee to help me. Have made numerous calls to ASPEN CORPORATE in hope to resolve the issue…read more I was advised that the local office will contact me in a week or two in regards for refund due to being overcharged. It will soon be two months and no contact from Local. Last time I contacted this local office and requested to speak to someone in billing, the rep got extremely upset and argumentative because I mentioned the word FRAUD due to a 8/31/23 claim to my dental insurance for upper and lower partials by ASPEN that I never received and my insurance paid them for it 10/23. This lead to another claim submitted by ASPEN dental for upper and lowers in 02/24 that my insurance company denied due to the previous payment. I ended up Being charged $1880.00 out of pocket.
