I became a patient here only because one of the employees, their sort of de facto office manager, answered the phone when I called on Black Friday at 8 am, even though the office was closed all day. She was there working on confirming appointments and paperwork and I called with a really bad toothache. I couldn't get an answer at any other dentist's office. They couldn't see me that day, but I was first on the list the next Monday morning. Since then, I've invested in several root canals, crown work, and a tooth extraction there. The dentist's is one of my least favorite places to go. But Dr. Katie and her staff have helped me a lot. I appreciate their attention to detail. I like how well we communicate. Dr. Katie knows what she's doing, especially when things have gone wrong. Nothing comes cheap, and the office being closed on Wednesdays isn't ideal, but in all this is pretty much the first time I've ever had overall positive experiences dealing with a dentist. read more

I have had pretty much everything from this office-- that's in response to the "Type of care" prompt from Yelp. I've had cleanings, root canals, and old fillings replaced. I even had a cleaning from Dr. Katie instead of the hygienist. That's a story: I have a terrible dentist phobia, as well as an over-active gag reflex, so they give me gas just for a cleaning. Well, one day, there was an issue with the hygienist and the gas, so Dr. Katie stepped in and did the cleaning. I can't think of another dentist I've gone to who would do that. Hmmm. I'm supposed to comment on office experience. I have little experience of the office. The people at the desk are polite, but I'm usually whisked off to the chair without any waiting in the office. Dr. K never runs late, and sometimes gets you in early if you are there early. Maybe I shouldn't say that-- I can't think of another dentist, doctor, or even vet who does that; it seems to be standard to run about 20 minutes late, so Dr. K may be going off script. Hmm. I think that takes care of all my prompts. Dr. K is great. I wish I had some unique words for her, but I don't. I'd be using them if I did, though, and that's not even a prompt. read more

Great dentist. Knows her stuff, and doesn't delegate to her staff like my old dentist. I had to replace a couple of crowns. My old dentist couldn't get the bite right and I was in a lot of pain while waiting for the permanent crown for my first crown. When I had a second tooth need a crown, there was no way I was going to let my old dentist handle it. I switched to Dr Katie. Not only did I have a much better experience in her office, but she fixed the bite problem in the other crown and all the pain went away. I am glad I switched dentists! read more

I had been a patient of Dr Orr's for years and had been satisfied with the practice until recently. recently I had been misinformed about how much time I had to cancel an appointment and spoken to very rudely on the phone when I complained about the cancelation. My credit card was charged after I'd asked it to be removed from their records because I wanted control of which payment methods I chose (charge was valid but not removing my card when I asked them to was unacceptable ) I emailed the office with the complaints about a month or so ago due to how long I had been with the practice. Dr Orr replied the same day saying she would look into the issues and I hadn't heard a response back for over a month. At this point I decided to switch practices due to the fact that I was unhappy with the response and the service I was having. I learned they charge to send over my medical to the new provider which is not something I've ever seen a medical practice do. At this point my entire family has moved to a new practice, I will swallow the fee to send my records to be done with this office. read more

Dr Orr seems nice enough in the beginning, but she acts crazier with each exam/encounter. Came up with a plan for me that she didn't share, and I got suckered into UNCONSENTED expensive dental work that may or may not have been necessary after she started going nuts with a drill and it was too late to turn back. When confronted about it, she lied, tried to cover her butt, and got even crazier. Aftermath of her work was painful for months. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere!! read more

Soo, I had a great experience initially, but a few red flags have since reared their heads. Last time I had a cleaning they suggested I have two, since it had been a bit of time since I'd had one. I asked a dentist friend and he confirmed my suspicion--having two cleanings in a row really isn't very useful. But the biggest thing to burn me up is their late fee. If you do not cancel an appointment with 24 hour notice, you can get a fine upward of $25. I had to cancel the morning of my appointment because I had a glitch in my insurance, so I called four hours ahead and had to put a hold on it. I still had to pay the fine, despite my explanation. I almost sympathize with the kind of cancellation they're trying to avoid, but from my particular situation, this just seems like terrible customer service. They've lost at least one client by this practice. read more

Please stay away from this dentist. I had went to her for a crown and I provided my insurance and they stated that estimate pay is $900 and change so I paid that. I left to go out of town for work for 2 1/2 months, and I let them know that which I didn't have to, but it came up in conversation. I returned back from out of town for one week, And I received all of my mail, I seen a statement from Katie Orr dentist, and it was for 1200,00, as soon as I seen it I called and left a vm to see what was going on because my insurance said they pay more then that.. I received a call back maybe 2-3 days later , which I missed the call, because I was at work. I was planning to give them a call back but I was traveling out of town for surgery, so I figure I would once I return. I'm out of town in a different country, and I see payment from Katie Orr being taken out of my account. I'm so confused why they are taking money out of my account. I text the number I receive a text saying " call the office asap", so I'm like what is going on.The secretary starts saying stuff like " do u want care credit, we need to handle this balance asap, I'm like huh.. I just received the bill, let me get with my insurance company.. she is like it needs to be paid NOW, at this point im mad. This office is money hungry. Katie ends up texting me saying " we need our money, call me now" I literally just had a procedure the day before, so I replied back. I will have to give you guys a call another day, so then she text " CALL NOW, I had to block the number, she then proceeds to send me a email. I am a professional and I will never not pay anything I owe, at this point I am being harassed like this is crazy. They are money hungry. I will provide below the text messages. I have never had a dentist or doctor texting me "call me asap", for a 1200 balance, that is insane.. I highly recommend stay away from this place, they are money hungry, harassing me for $1200. $1200 is nothing to me, but the way they are going about it. They are harassing me, being rude, and not giving me time to ask my insurance company. This is the worse experience I have had at any establishment, to have the dentist texting you is crazy. I hadn't been to the dentist in about a year when we moved to Indy in January. My fiance hadn't been in much longer than that (eep!). Finding a good dentist and doctor when you don't know anyone in town is really tough. I scoured the internet for reviews and really only found feedback on Dr. Eynon-Orr. I felt very comfortable from the first moment I stepped into their office. The staff is all very pleasant and the facilities are well kept. Dr. Katie is very friendly, funny and genuinely interested in her patients. She explained everything to me before she did it. She was upfront about all costs, what my insurance would and would not cover, and what was urgent and what could wait. My insurance actually covered more than expected, which I found out when Dr. Eynon-Orr's office mailed me a refund check for what I had paid. I have been to a lot of dentists, moving around a lot, and Dr. Katie is one of my favorites. read more

Ok I must start this review by saying I was very skeptical before coming here. I had been burned pretty badly by another dentist in town that demanded I be charged a pretty penny for a teeth cleaning that was covered under my insurance! With that said, I met Dr. Katie during a business meeting and her lovable and warm demeanor won me over so I bit the bullet and set an appointment. When I arrived, I was greeted by their front office gal, Jami. She does just about everything around the office and really helped me feel calm. They took me back and I immediately felt at ease. Avoid, avoid, avoid. I was talked into dental work that I didn't need and was in horrific pain immediately following the procedure. When it did not abate, I was offered a root canal that I would have to pay for despite the fact that all the pain was from her botched procedure. I didn't have the money for it, so I suffered in pain for over a year. Again I was told I needed a root canal, so I got a second opinion from a competent dentist who was not in dentistry for the sole purpose of making money. What I learned was highly distressing. She had used the wrong material for the unnecessary procedure in the first place, and she had no business doing a root canal since she is not an endodontist. Thanks to her, the tooth fell apart and had to be pulled. Finally the pain is gone. Yesterday I received a bill for $175 marked "final notice" even though it was the first notice I'd gotten. I called and asked what it was for - a missed visit! Unbelievable. I should be filing a malpractice suit for several concerns, but instead I am giving her money for cancelling an appointment for a procedure I didn't need. read more

Can I give more stars?! From the beginning, Dr. Orr and her team made me feel at home. Dr Katie gave me a tour of the office and was genuinely interested in getting to know me and what I wanted from this experience. I wasn't used to that at all! I've already recommended people to go to her after one visit. Just recently, I had my first filling with her and she was gentle and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. I have a fear of dentists but I definitely left Dr. Orr's office feeling less anxious! Highly recommended!!! read more

She seems nice enough but in reality she is more of a salesman than a dentist. This place is a money factory. She talked me into several procedures that were unwarranted (verified by a 2nd opinion) and then billed me to almost the max of my yearly insurance allotment. I also had an issue with a previous chipped tooth on a Friday evening and found out that there is no way to get in touch with her during off hours. She had previously given me her "personal email" with the promise to use it any time should I need anything. It went unanswered until the following Monday. Her office voicemail has no after hours option except to call 911. By the time she answered I had already found another dentist who was willing to come in on Saturday to resolve the issue. The thing that really got me was the cancellation fee. It's very interesting how her office calls and emails a reminder 24 hours before the appointment, yet their policy states they require a 48 hour cancellation notice. This is shady if you ask me. In my case they charged me $75. I definitely do not recommend. read more

Possibly one of the worst dental experiences I've had, and I spent 6 years with the US Navy so I know mediocre dentists. I was not numbed for a filling hardly at all and my daughter spent an hour screaming and crying in her chair. She will also schedule you 6 months in advance and call you the day before your appointment and if you can't keep the appointment, you will have to pay a $50 cancelation fee because they require TWO days notice so I would through "shady business practices" up with this individual. I am looking to report this actually so if you know who I have to do that with, let me know please. PLEASE save your money and give it to someone that will do spotty work at best and charge out the butt for it. read more

This dentist told me I have 8 cavities. I thought this was a lot of cavities for me, so I got a second opinion. The second dentist told me I only had 2 cavities. I called and asked how can this dentist say I have 8 and the other say I have 2. Their response was that Katherine is more aggressive with decay. Of course I switched dentist and no longer go to Katherine. Be careful going to this practice as she might drill more teeth than needed. read more

I have been seeing her for several years, and she has respected my choices of having certain procedures delayed or ignored, and she has provided strategies for alternative ways for dealing with dental issues. If there is an extra procedure needed (like a replacement filling), she has been able to get the job done on the same visit or schedule a follow up quickly. I was looking for a new dentist and was referred to Dr. Katie from a friend. Since it was my first visit, I was greeted by Dr. Katie and she took me on a tour of her new building which is quite nice. I met he staff which seemed quite friendly. I needed a root canal, and was told in detail as to what would happen. The procedure itself was quite painless. I could have been put on gas, but decided not to. No problems. Upon going back to her office to get the permanent tooth put on, I was in and out within 5 minutes, which was great since I scheduled the appt during my lunch break. At first I was thought I was in the right place. Clean and modern. But when you try to call and there is no answer; they went home, it snowed. The recording does not tell you that. Maybe they have been robbed or murdered and that's why no answer. The "friendly" reminder about missed appointments comes a day before the appointment and unlike the 2009 poster, now they want 48 hours notice. I cancelled a Monday appt. on Friday. No job, no money, and having paid 2K that I had to borrow, I'm a new patient do I get a break? No, instead I get a copy of the agreement I signed that says right at the top, MAY be charged missed appt. fee. Not shall or will, MAY. That makes it their choice. So they get the $40 charge but lose a customer and word of mouth forever. read more

I didn't have a wait time like other offices I have been to. Her staff was great and I didn't have to wait, they made my visit very easy. Overall the visit is a pleasant one except for a surprise fee at the end of the visit. I had been to Dr. Katie's office for a cleaning. My insurance covers the entire cost free. Katie was my family dentist for 9 years. I cancelled an appt on Tuesday for an appt on Thursday for my 3 children. However, I was notified that because the office was closed on Wednesday that I had not given the proper notice. I was not aware of the policy for the office being closed on Wed since it is not on policy form. I was charged $25 p/child. Then I received an emal from the office that the balance owed for missed appt was $50 p/child. Katie had increased these fees at her discretion over the course of 1 day. I have repeatedly requested for return phone calls from Katie but have been denied. On 3/4/11 I requested a copy of my consent forms that agreed to being charged and I was told by Gina that I will have to contact Dr. Katie's attorney who would see me in court. I have been made to feel that I have no patient rights and am at the mercy of Dr. Katie. Besides the matter of the fees, in Feb 2011 I had a crown procedure done. I had to return to office due to constant pain. X-rays were taken and said it was fine. I called again a couple of days later becuase tooth is still not right. It was found that I will need to have a root canal done, which I will have to pay addtl $850. I will now have to go to someone else to fix ...which is really a shame over a $150 charge. read more

Really disappointed in the lack of care here. Greedy for money. I've never paid more for x-rays at any other office. Not sure if they were all necessary, as I'd be advised to get them almost every time I went in for a cleaning. Also, cancellation fees are horrible. Even if you're sick. Apparently they'd rather risk their whole staff getting sick and operate in your mouth when you're contagious than waive a reschedule fee. In spite of these issues, I'd stayed here for a few years because the service was in general very good. However, lately things are clearly falling through the cracks. My most recent visit, for a cleaning, the dental assistant was horrible. She was inattentive and icy. After the cleaning, I was denied the opportunity to have my bite adjusted even though I had waited 2 months to have it fixed. Not to mention, the reason why it needed to be fixed was that she over-adjusted my bite after I'd had a root canal. That was the final straw for me. At least admit your mistakes and have some compassion. Ultimately why I will never go back here. Very disappointing. read more
