I love Dr. De Luna! She's awesome and I've been seeing her ever since she graduated and I was a teenager. She's always been extremely thorough with my complex dental care (yes I like to eat a lot of candy and make her job difficult). She's really nice and always very transparent with what she is doing to keep me in the loop. She always goes above and beyond with my care. Her bedside manner is impeccable. She is the perfect dentist. She's often booked up so if you ever find an opening with her, I'd get established. Her office is also easy to get to right off of 19th ave. Be care about parking though because I've parked across the street before and gotten a ticket during street cleaning. read more

Being traumatized at the age of three by a truly heinous dentist, I used to have this innate and primal fear of ANYONE with tools coming near my mouth... Rest assured folks, upon seeing Dr. deLuna, those fears are gone. She's extremely patient, and answered all of my anxiety-ridden questions about the procedures. You will never feel rushed with her appointments, and her gentle ways are a god-send. Being pregnant, she was also mindful of giving me breaks, in case I needed to shift positions to accommodate my belly. She's definitely worth seeing! read more

A definite recommend for anyone looking for a dentist. I've been going to Dr. de Luna for about a year now, and it has been one of the easiest and most enjoyable relationships I have had with any dentist. That's saying a lot because I've been to a few. What's great about Dr. de Luna is how she places so much emphasis on the patient. Throughout the entire experience, she's always making sure that the experience is as comfortable as possible. She takes the time to walk you through what she's doing, why she's doing it and what to expect. In general, she honestly seems to care about her patient's welfare. On a related note, her office is pretty easy to find. It is right by the Citibank on Ocean, a few blocks away from Stonestown. Parking is pretty easy as well. So for anyone who just moved or just not happy with their current dentist, Dr. de Luna is worth checking out. read more

Dr. de Luna is my favorite dentist ever. She makes herself so available to her patients -- even calling me on the phone when I was out of town and concerned about a dental issue. She follows my case history diligently and is always sure to explain exactly what she is doing and why -- even regarding routine cleaning procedures. She is so smart, but down to earth. I really feel like she knows who I am. I agree 100% with Ben about her excellent "chair-side manner." I tend to freak out about dental problems and she is always sure to be realistic but optimistic. Going to Dr. de Luna for your dental checkup is always a pleasure! read more

Before I discovered Dr. de Luna I was always nervous about going to the dentist. Now I am happy to go in for pain free fillings and cleanings. She takes the time to tell you what's she's going to do and does not rush. I've never gone to the dentist before and not even felt the needle go into my gums, she's that good! Highly recommend! read more

I've been coming to Dr. de Luna for almost a decade and couldn't give a higher review. Her style of care is personal, getting to know her patients in and outside of the office. She's gentle, patient, and thorough in her work. She genuinely cares about your health and well-being. read more

I recently began my doctor/patient relationshiip with Dr. de Luna and I am sure glad I did. She is a top notch professional and has an excellent bed..I mean chair-side manner. What I mean by this is that she actually asks how you are doing, is interested in you as a person, and doesn't rush you through the process. That goes a long way for me. Dr. de Luna takes the time to explain what she is doing and why she is doing it. She makes sure you understand the whole process and it is obvious she enjoys her work. The bottom line is that she is a true professional and what other dentist do you know that links to share laughs during the visit? Do yourself a favor and go see her. Your choppers deserve it! read more

Dr. De Luna is by far the best dentist in San Francisco. I may be slightly bias but my fear around dentists went away the day I met her 10 years ago at University of the Pacific Dental School. She was completing her residency and has always had such great bedside manor. Or in this case, chair-side manor. She put me at such ease seeing that she was knowledgable, confident, friendly and down to earth. I have followed her from her days of residency, to her office on Ocean Ave and will go for my first appointment AT HER NEW OFFICE located at 800 Santiago St. In SF! I have an underlining medical condition and she has always been understanding and listened to all concerns I have around dental work being done or not done based off of my medical condition. If you're fearful of dentists, Dr. De Luna will put you at ease & you will want to be a patient for years to come. read more

I've been very happy with Dr de Luna as my dentist. She pays attention to me as a patient and to my entire case history, she's conscientious, detail-oriented, quite organized and good at what she does. She went to a top-notch school and is very bright (as is her smile). Plus, her friendly staff helps me to be sure not to miss appointments thanks to their courteous reminder calls (thanks Sandra, Connie and Joy!). read more

- REVIEW FOR RECENT DENTAL IMPLANT Let me begin to say that all brides know the endless amount of times they have to flash their pearlies on their big day. Surely, I needed a great looking set of teeth before my own big day. Without a doubt, I turned to Dr. DeLuna for some advice in regards to getting a dental implant. She was knowledgable and attentive to my needs throughout the whole process, ie. Showing me my progress via charts, explaining each step towards the final day and always asking me if I had any questions. This was my first time getting a dental implant and she really eased my nerves about the whole thing. One factor I'd like to point out is her honesty. Wedding preparations had put me in serious time constraint and getting a dental implant done before the big day was a huge concern for me. I had mentioned to her the option of speeding up the process but in turn, suggested against it because it would affect my tooth's longevity and effectiveness. This showed just how honest, responsible & professional she was and wasn't out there to say anything to please the patients Also, as usual, Dr. DeLuna's concern for my comfort level when on the dentist chair still never fails. read more

RECEPTIONIST needs to be changed on this facility, just had a simple question about if my insurance is within their network so I wont have to waste their time, but the lady in the end being sarcastic and telling me "why cant you look for that before you calling this facility" I was shock by her respond TOTALLY! my call was just around 5 minutes ago ,,,and its unbelievable to have that kind of reception coming from a lof of 5 stars comment.. read more

Dr. de Luna is absolutely stellar. I have seen her for a tooth extraction and for repairs to two chipped front teeth. In both cases her attention to detail and gentle demeanor made the process not only painless but easy. She is not only kind but is genuine in herconcern for her patients. There were no resultant issues with the extraction, her technique was flawless. Plus the repairs she performed left my teeth indistingushable from one another, with no evidence of repair. Truly outstanding. My experience with medical people is that they can be attentive but distant. Dr de Luna is more than attentive, she is quite focused but has a warmth to her manner that is bothdisarming and relaxing, the perfect antidote for anyone who is in pain or has hadunfortunate past experiences with dentistry. She easily rates 10 on a scale of 1 to 5! read more

At age 74, I have been in the capable hands of many "top drawer" dentists. But never have I been with someone who is equally comfortable and skilled with the pediatric population, the adult population and the geriatric population. Dr. de Luna has cleaned my teeth and she has performed procedures far more complicated. She administers shots seamlessly, there is never any pain during or even after a procedure, she explains exactly what she is doing and for what reason, and her gentle, caring manner is very reassuring. To feel comfortable in a dentist's chair with blood pressure normal is as good as it can possibly get. I highly recommend Dr. de Luna, particularly if you are looking for a family dentist. Every generation in your household will be pleased. read more

Dr. de Luna has been my dentist for the past 3 years and every visit has been wonderful. She is kind, patient, professional and makes sure I have as comfortable an experience as possible. Dr. D and I figured I've been her patient for about 10 years. Like virtually all the reviewers here, I have absolutely no plans of seeking another dentist. Compassionate, friendly, gentle care, has gone way out of her way more than once to accommodate different needs of mine. Shows interest in me as a person, not just a money-paying patient. Mainly want to mention that my 13-yr-old daughter recently had her first appointment with Katherine -- and she's totally happy we changed from Noe Valley Pediatrics, where my daughter didn't feel all that comfortable with the overall environment (good dentist though). Even though it's an inconvenient trip for my daughter (lives in the Mission), it's worth it to her, and to me, knowing that she's really happy there. My 15-yr-old son is next! As 5 stars mean: Woohoo! As good as it gets! read more

Dr. Katherine de Luna is as gentle and careful as humanly possible. She explains what she is doing at each step. She is deeply concerned about the comfort of her patients. Her work is meticulous. I had neglected taking regular care of my teeth due to a lack of funds, but a friend recommended Dr. de Luna to me. I was surprised and pleased with her professionalism, knowledge and overall ability. She is very kind, gentle, and explains every step of her procedures before she starts them. I also arranged a monthly payment plan with her staff. She has met with me and made suggestions for future procedures and exams. I certainly recommend Dr. de Luna to anyone who's looking for an excellent dentist!! read more

BEWARE OF THIS DENTIST LISTEN TO MY EXPERIENCE..Doctor de Luna treated me for a tooth that she said needed a crown. Unfortunately she overlooked the infection that needed a root canal. She placed a gold crown over the infected tooth and root. One week later I started experiencing excruciating pain and a huge lump had formed over my right cheek, I WAS IN GREAT PAIN and could not work. I went to a clinic where I was told that the tooth with the crown placed by Doctor de Luna had to be extracted. This is not a question of her chair side manner or her personality. This is a matter of competence and ethics. In addition to losing the tooth and the pain and suffering, there was considerable monetary loss. read more
